This spacious, beachfront, two bedroom condominium is conveniently located just around the corner and down a short hallway from the elevators and features a remodeled kitchen and dining area. Tastefully decorated throughout, this peaceful retreat is the perfect spot to enjoy your SANDESTIN® Golf and Beach Resort beach vacation. Breathe in the fresh breezes coming in off the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico from your spacious private balcony overlooking some of the nicest beaches among Destin and South Walton's renowned sugar white sand beaches. Then head down the elevator to a relaxing day by the resort style pool complete with separate kiddie pool, seasonal snack bar and hot tub or to your choice of one of many adventures on the resort or off.
At the end of your day, relax in the cozy living area with a large flat screen TV and upgraded sleeper sofa, or one of the two roomy bedrooms. Everything you need

This was a great vacation. The wife and kids could walk to beach, the pool was right down stars, and several golf courses were less than 10 min away. Shopping and restaurants were also less than 10 min away, you really just can’t beat the convenience of this trip.

We spent 7 nights at the Westwinds for spring break with our three kids - ages 13, 11 and 9. There was more than enough space for the five of us in the condo. The pictures make it look smaller than what it is in person. Beds were comfortable, pillows were nice and soft and there were extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom closets. The master bathroom and bedroom were quite large and each room had a good size tv. The balcony has two Adirondack chairs and a small side table. Unable to see the sunrise or sunset directly from the balcony but a quick walk to the beach gives you an unbelievable view. We saw dolphins from the balcony several days we were there - they came pretty close to shore. One family was kayaking right next to them one morning. The kitchen was spacious with plenty of utensils and tools to cook. They had a nice coffee pot that could do ground coffee or keurig pods. The washer and dryer was in the condo which was convenient. They didn’t supply laundry detergent but we brought some detergent sheets that worked well to be able to wash our beach towels. They supplied bath towels but we had to bring our own beach towels. They had three beach chairs as well as plenty of sand toys and boogie boards to use. We did rent chairs and an umbrella from the beach vendor for about 60/day. The Village of Baytowne Wharf is across the street and is worth going to for shopping and food! Overall we had no complaints and loved the Sandestin area and will definitely be back!

Simply fantastic

Our family enjoyed staying in this condo. Spacious, clean, great view, excellent pool and easy beach access. After spending time driving around Destin area, we are positive that we had the best accommodations for our needs. Marcella was a pleasure to work with during booking process. No more guess work when coming to Destin, we will stay in Marcella's place - if it's available :-)

Good property

We’ve stayed at Westwinds multiple times and this unit got the job done. It has great beds and average furniture. It’s very understocked compared to other units we’ve been. We had no major issues and always enjoy the fall there. I would probably rent one of the others before selecting this one again.

Fantastic

Everything about this condo was amazing! Beautiful, comfortable, close to everything!!!! I wish we would’ve known about the Baytown warf area sooner…We found out our last night but it was super fun and close. There was a tiny bit of sand on the floors the first day we got there which is almost impossible to avoid at the beach. I just wish there was a mat to wipe our feet at the door.

Martin-Westwinds Condo

The property was okay. The refrigerator did not have an ice maker. We were going to rent the chair and umbrella on the beach. Since we went through VRBO , they wanted to charge 80.00 a day. If we had gone through Sandestin the fee would have only been 50.00 a day. Not good.

Nice Location - Pros and Cons

Pros - Nice Location perfect for Family vacation. Clean Beach, Nice Pools for the Kids. The condo was clean and Spacious for a Family of 4. Beautiful View of the Ocean from Balcony. Secure property and out of the hustle busy areas. Near by everything you will need for shopping during your stay. Good communication from Renting service. Cons - Minimum start up supplies. You might need to bring bedding (not enough), toilet paper, towels and any minimum cooking ware and supplies. Beach equipment all broken or rusted (Can't use it). Over priced for what they provided.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the clean, spacious, condo with the beautiful view. We have extra towels under the bathroom sinks and wish you would have left us know if you needed more. As the condo does not have daily housekeeping, things like shampoo, soap and toilet paper do not replenished and if you stay more than a few days you will probably run out. It's always a good idea to pack some extra (and also some laundry pods if you plan on doing any laundry in the in unit washer and dryer.)

Overall it’s Good

It’s a bit of a mixed review. When we first arrived I was disappointed to find the property’s cleanliness less than desirable. We spent about an hour cleaning/wiping things down before unpacking. The other opportunity for this property is getting new beds as the king bed and two other beds were uncomfortable. We are used to memory foam mattresses and these were innerspring. You feel every move your bedmate makes. The property knocked it out of the park with esthetics, proximity to property amenities, and having beach chairs as well as an umbrella. The primary bedroom en suite bath is a great size. Overall, I would book this property again but would likely bring a memory foam topper for the bed.

4784 Westwinds at Sandestin

This Westwinds condo was a disappointment, starting with the kitchen which was not equipped for cooking or being able to eat a meal, very limited on dishes of any kind. Next the living room rug is very dirty and needs to be replaced. The king bed mattress is old and extremely uncomfortable. The balcony that had a fairly nice view has a broken chair and has not been cleaned in years! I'm pretty sure it has black mold at the sliding glass door. Do not waste your money in renting chairs & umbrellas because according to the rental people, the Westwinds HOA decided to permit anyone setup with chairs and umbrellas right on the front row by the ocean in front of you! Ridiculous! None of the other condos in Sandestin do this??? I have been coming to Sandestin for over 25 years and stayed at the Westwinds several times. I will not be staying there again.

Hi Roxanne, I wish that you would have brought any of these to our attention during your stay as they are all pretty easy fixes, except for the beach. If you needed more plates/utensils we could have easily brought them and also fixed the loose screw on the chair. I'm sorry you were frustrated by the beach but the state of Florida owns all of the beach closest to the water and it is a long standing custom that the closest sand to the water is accessible to the public. This goes for every hotel and condo not only in Sandestin, but in the whole state of Florida.

Mixed Review

Beautiful location, great beach accommodations, no crowds at Westwinds, the pool is wonderful and well kept. Balcony is super nice, however 2 uncomfortable chairs. Condo is standard layout and could be very nice. Great washer and dryer. Mattresses are very poor and sheets fall off as soon as you lay down. Annoying issues like coffee pot doesn't work, plates don't fit in the cupboard, so door stands open, various light switches that don't work, electric plugs punch in when you plug and unplug, no lights in the showers, each bath allowed one hand towel, (however multiple bath towels were provided) only two 12x18" drawers in guest BR, kitchen utensils tossed in drawers, duck tape used to hold in place. Dishwasher had orange plastic sticking out from the bottom, tripped a number of times. Nice flooring, however, filthy throughout! Double beds in guest BR yes, but can't open closet doors without moving beds, room designed for 2 single beds. Some of these items seem small however tacky, we are in the real estate business and attempted to offer some suggestions to local rep which were not well received.

Will not be coming back

The only good thing I could say about this whole experience was communication was relatively quick and easy. Upon checking in, we already noticed the floor was dusty and dirty. If we even walked barefoot for a little bit, our feet would turn dirty and dark. We tried to sweep the floor, even attempted to mop the floor with the mop they left us (just the plastic part of the mop, no microfiber or those removable pad) with some paper towels we tried to attach to the mop. They left us a HALFLY USED roll of paper towel, and that's the roll we had for the entire stay. We've been to several listings but NONE of them gave us ONE roll of toilet paper for each bathroom (keep in mind we booked this listing for 6 people for 4 nights), HALF roll of paper towel, 2 cubes of dishwasher solution, and 1 tiny bag of detergent. We literally spent only $2 for 6 rolls of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towel after they told us 1 roll/room was all that we were provided. So for the amount of money they charged us (which was pretty high since we didn't mind spending extra for a vacation), they could not spend extra $2 to ensure their guest was comfortable with the stay. The knives that they provided us could barely cut through the skin of a tomato, so if you want to cook, bring your own knives. The ice machine did not work at all. The teflon part of the pans started to come off, which was really harmful to use but we had no other choice since we were provided only 2 pans and they were equally damaged. Moving to the bedrooms, he ceiling fan of the main bedroom was making a clattering sound the whole first night we stayed there, so much that we couldn't sleep with it on. They for sure knew about it because we saw some piece of paper towel stuffed inside the top cover of the fan (the cone-shape piece that usually hang loose on top of the light board), possibly to reduce the noise. After informing the owner, the maintenance man of the building came to check on it. He tried his best to fix it and made sure it didn't make anymore noise before he left but I think it's the fan's problem itself because the sound then came back but more bearable so we just ignored it. The water in the main bathroom only have either hot or boiling hot water, so we had to shower in a rush all the time. Overall, for the price that we had to pay, we expected more.

Sorry your experience wasn't perfect and thank you for sharing it. The housekeeper does leave a double roll of toilet paper in each bathroom as well as a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, a couple of dishwasher packs and a couple of trash bags. If the previous guest doesn't use all of the toilet paper she does leave them, but she also leaves a second roll under the sink. Everyone's usage is different and we always recommend to our guest that plan on using the kitchen more or washing a bunch to plan and pack accordingly. We are sorry about the fan cover being loose, it was only noisey when the fan was on high speed but thank you for noting how easy it was to communicate with us and how prompt we were to respond. If you had mentioned anything else to us, like the pans we would have responded as well.

10th Floor Westwinds *Beautiful Views*

The Sanddestin Resort and the Westwinds condos is an amazing place to stay in the Destin area! Shopping, grocery, and boardwalk super close. Restaurant row and Oulets are very close as well and so many things to do! The condo was updated and very clean with beautiful views. Condo was stocked with kitchen utincles, bathroom towels, and beach chairs and toys. Comes with washer and dryer which was super convenient! Only complaint was the bedding was not clean found spots on comforter and sheets. It wasn't a big deal as I brought sheets and blankets, if I hadn't I would have gotten hold of property manager.

GREAT STAY

We have been coming to Destin for years, and we found this condo this time around. It was the best stay we have had. Great views from all rooms! Both bedrooms, living rooms and balcony all ocean front! Communication between Marcella and myself was an A+. Super attentive and made the check-in process seamless and streamlined. We will be booking with her again the next time down, that is for certain! Room was clean, everything was absolutely what we hoped for, and more. Thank you!

Perfect

Everything was perfect. Clean, spacious, and great location. Only (tiny) complaint would be that there is no electrical outlet near the bedside table in the guest room (the one the lamp is plugged into is behind the headboard). This is very inconvenient for cell phone charging purposes. A multi-port extension charging station would be a quick, easy fix. Other than that, it was awesome!

Awesome Sandestin Vacation

This was one of the the best beachfront condos we have ever stayed in FL. Very well maintained, very clean unit! Exactly what advertised and shown as on Vrbo pages. Westwinds Neighboorhood is an awesome resort area! Property manager Marcella Phelps is very humble, very helpful and very timely through the reservation and stay. I wish weather would be a little better. We would love to come back again! Thank you Marcella!
