A beautiful log home apartment in the woods. A tranquil, peaceful and private getaway in a safe area. Also handicap accessibility. Two blocks from Lake Michigan with spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge. Near Sand Bay, a sandy beach for swimming and kayaking. Many tourist attractions: Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Sault Locks, forts and museums.
I have lived in Saint Ignace all my life - my roots here go back to 1885. My family are some of the first settlers in this quaint city. I LIVE ON SITE. My home is divided with private entrance for visitors. Enjoy my beautiful island flower garden with pond and lighthouse and the train garden. Wildlife including deer and even a moose have stopped by for a visit. Truly a tranquil romantic paradise!

For those with allergies - rest assured that there has never been a pet inside the log home apartment.
Electric heat, air conditioning and air filtering system. There are no fragrances.
Well water and Culligan's reverse osmosis water filtering system.
Free and sensitive detergents.

Exemplary Beautiful Home!!!

Stayed here with my mom while we explored the area. This home is so beautiful, wonderfully maintained, the host has personal touches all over the house that will make your stay here just wonderful! From homemade rhubarb bread, to a chocolate bar, to a book written about the owner's husband you will just love this place! Can't say enough good about it! Must stay here again!

Great location

The location and our stay were great! The host was extremely welcoming and the perfect host! It is close to the beach, and to the St Ignace ferry to Mackinac Island which we preferred over the busier Mackinaw City port. The house was roomy with lots of amenities. The gardens were beautiful in July and it was a very quiet setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Mary Lynn is the most hospitable host we've ever had. The house is beautiful! The drive to the beach is short and amazing. You get a great view of the Mackinaw Bridge.We will definitely be back.

A Great "Up-North" Cottage

This charming VRBO was exactly as advertised! It was located in a very quiet area yet was only a short drive to downtown. It was clean, modern, and very obviously well taken care of. There was plenty of room for my husband and me.

The place was very nice, however, it did have a musty smell. Photo is deceiving. I thought we would be staying at a place with a big porch.Having access to a golf cart at no additional cost was a nice extra.Mary Lynn was welcoming. She was glad to see us.

Great Getaway

Loved the little log home away from home. It was the perfect location and Mary Lynn was just wonderful. It was so beautiful, so peaceful and so quiet. Tucked away in a beautiful area. Would highly recommend staying here. If we are back this way and need a place to stay this will be number one on our list.

Birthday Celebration

What a fantastic property & Our host Mary Lynn was wonderful!! We had everything we needed for our stay, including twin deers feasting in the backyard for breakfast. The landscape is beautiful accompanied by a cabin with a cozy feel! We enjoyed our stay & cannot wait to visit again.

I have lived in beautiful St. Ignace all my life. My ancestors on both parent's side were some of the first settlers here in 1885. I love being surrounded by the water - Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. I am an avid biker, hiker, I love kayaking, boating, fishing and hanging with friends.

The neighborhood is quiet. Only two houses on this private road. I am surrounded by trees and wildlife. Lake Michigan is right around the corner from my lovely log home. It has spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge, sunsets, water and wildlife.
