Surf’s Up is an experience, not just a beach rental. It’s nested a block from the beach and just as close to downtown Kure. Small town Kure provides delicious restaurants and offers a fishing pier. Here, guests can fish, stroll along the boardwalk, and catch a few waves at dusk. All in all, Surf's Up provides a prime location for those in search of an oasis. Not clean, sand on sheets, sheets not washed, bed bugs or fleas that bit our grandchildren. Toilets not cleaned. I tried to get the owners/managers to call but they did not. I repaired the main door handle that kept falling off and was happy to do so.There are 3 sets of stairs so of anyone has issues with climbing that could be a problem. Only 1 roll of TP for each bathroom so you may want to bring your own.I don’t like leaving negative reviews but feel it will save someone so headaches. The communication was good with Matthew and Christopher other than not calling me so I could relay the negatives to them rather than post.

Amazing time

Host was super responsive, helpful and friendly and helped make our stay so enjoyable! Location could not have been anymore perfect in such a nice area. We would 100% come back to this property and would recommend it!

We love Surfs Up!

This is our 3rd time at this house and we love it! Walkable to everything at Kure Beach and a short drive to Carolina Beach, Fort Fisher, the Ferry, or Wilmington. We love biking to the park and all around the island. The townhouse is very well-outfitted - nicely furnished and the new sofa is so comfortable. The balconies give a clear view of everything and make for wonderful dining. Matthew is so easy to work with. Will definitely stay again, and highly recommend. Thanks, Matthew!

Kure Beach update

The location was wonderful and the local Host was very responsive. But the rental unit was very disappointing. The listing noted a hot tub but there was not one. There was a jet tub in the master bath but that is certainly not a hot tub. There were no linens for the futon in one of the bedrooms and the sheet was dirty and not changed from the last renters. There was sand and dirt in the bed. There were no linens in the kitchen of in the half bath.The refrigerator froze some of our food at the back. Our fresh greens, vegetables and fruit had to be thrown out. There was standing water under the kitchen sink and no stoppers for the sink. The dish drainer was rusty and had to be thrown out. The host was responsive, sent in some additional linens and a new dish drainer. He took care of everything but we should not have had to bother him with things that should have been handled by the cleaning crew. He had a plumber come about the sink. The plumber found that the cleaning crew had placed a cleaning product under the sink that had leaked and left the "standing water". There were several porches and one patio. The furniture on the mail porch was fine but none of the others had any chairs, except for one broken chair that could not be used. Again, for the price we paid for this rental, we should not have been faced with these problems.

Surf's Up has a beachy vibe and plenty of space for family get-togethers. In total, there’s 5 bedrooms with enough beds for 11 people. On the first floor, there’s a twin sized futon, queen bed, and bathroom. Upstairs, there’s the primary bedroom, fully stocked kitchen, and living room. The third floor has 2 queen beds, 2 full baths, and a bunk bed with a twin size mattress. Plenty of space for large crowds. Even better, you can hear the waves from most bedrooms. Every morning you wake up, you'll know you're in paradise. Message us and let us know the last time you took a vacation and what you're looking forward to on this one!
