Roost - Beautiful, comfortable home with no steps and private suites

"ROOST" Lakehouse - You will love the layout of this house! Main house has a large gathering areas, full kitchen, powder bath, master bedroom/bath along with a loft . Go through the breezeway and you will find 4 suites, each with their own bathroom.

The screened breezeway is where you will hang out with the family after a day on the lake. The water in the area is perfect for bream fishing so bring your poles. The walk to the water is one of the easiest on the lake. Don't want to Marina and restaurant are a mile down the road or Chef Troy's is not far. Get Hunt's pizzas at the store by the bridge.

If you are looking for a place that will sleep lots of folks but is easy on your budget compared to other properties on the lake, this is the place for you. It will easily sleep 4 or 5 family units (all with private bedrooms). This house is conveniently located on the upper Sipsey, one mile to a marina and 10 minutes to a large grocery store. It has a paved road right up to the driveway.

Perfect for families with young children who enjoy catching frogs and fireflies in the summer, the spacious, level yard offers plenty of room for outdoor fun. Afterward, unwind by the firepit and enjoy making s'mores around a cozy campfire.

Loft: 3 twin size beds. Bath at bottom of the stairs.

Guest suite #1 Full size bed and twin over twin bunk - private bath

Easy walk to the dock - approximately 10 steps to the dock. Dock has one boat slip available for guests' use (10' x 28'). Boat slip is useable until about 500msl. Find level here: /lake/smith/

RESERVATIONS ARE NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL YOU RETURN THE RENTAL AGREEMENT TO SMITH LAKE RENTALS. NO after-prom, graduation, frat, wedding, etc parties. Any gathering larger than the Max occupancy has to be preapproved. Violation will result in eviction.

The property was so perfect for our family! The kitchen was fully stocked and a great place to cook out turkey dinner! It was clean inside and just wonderful!

So charming and all enjoyed the stay. Amenities and xtra’s were great. Already recommended to friends in the area if they need more accommodations. We packed the trash box plum full and one bin from side of house up.

Some minor issues with toilet seats and ants in one bedroom. Property add showed a ping pong table which was removed. The kids were disappointed. The property was clean everything else worked. I will consider this property if our group chooses to return to Double Springs next year.

Sorry about the toilet seat issues and the ants in one bedroom - I’ve shared this with our housekeeping, maintenance, and pest-control teams so those items are addressed. Overall it was a good experience. Some areas that needed improvement included the Dock. The spider population was quite large. All day we had spiders dropping onto the deck and the boat and the kids. Dishwasher never worked - instruction left on the fridge for resetting that really never fixed the issue, we went old school washing by hand but with a large family the task was continuous with 3 meals a day. All beds had really firm mattresses, bed toppers would have helped. Some areas that were great including A/C units in each bedroom. Private bathroom for all bedrooms. Kitchen well supplied with all required preparing and cooking food. We would stay here again in the future.

Thank you for your thoughtful review and for staying with Smith Lake Rentals. I’m glad the A/C in each bedroom, private bathrooms, and a well-stocked kitchen worked well for your group. I’m sorry about the issues you experienced. We’ve scheduled pest control and a thorough dock cleaning to reduce spiders and will increase regular inspections. I’ve also sent a maintenance request to fully diagnose and repair or replace the dishwasher so future guests won’t need to wash by hand. Regarding the firm mattresses, we’ll be adding mattress toppers and reviewing mattress replacements to improve comfort. We appreciate the feedback and would welcome you back on a future stay.
