The Beach Park next door where you can swim with sea turtles is a once in a life experience. My 49 years as a resident and 46 years as a Realtor here will insure you know where to go and what to do to make it the perfect stay.

Super location and we loved going to the cove down below the condo. A sea turtle swam right underneath us when we were snorkeling there and we saw one basking on a rock.Volcano National Park and Hawaii Botanical Gardens were not far... highly recommend! Do bring earplugs since the road is noisy, especially on weekend nights.

We really enjoyed our stay here. This isn't a new property, but it's perfect for what it is, where it is, and the price. The rooms were beautiful, clean, open, and decorated to give that true Hawaii feel. There is no A/C, but we were comfortable in September when the heat and humidity were strong. They provide several fans which we used at night. We enjoyed being able to use the kitchen. They also supplied beach chairs and a cooler that we could use. The condo and grounds were clean and well maintained, with a laundry room on the same floor that was easy to use. We especially loved that it's located right at Carlsmith Beach Park (with swimmable/snorkeling-friendly inland lagoons and a feast for the eyes all around). I highly recommend it and would love to stay there again.

Terry's condo is great in every way. It's clean, well equipped, has an amazing view of the nearby clear lagoons, and a swimming pool ready for lap swims. So much attention to detail made our days at the condo perfect. There is a nicely appointed kitchen, living and dining areas, gorgeous balcony, queen bed and full bathroom. Outside on the balcony there is a storage chest filled with snorkel masks and fins, boogie boards, and folding beach chairs. There are beach towels, sunscreen, and an entire cupboard of items that may come in handy from shampoo to bandaids. The bed was comfortable and the ocean breeze coming through the open windows made for restful nights. A great experience.

Great ocean view! Terrific snorkeling adjacent to the building. Lots of sea turtles and fish. Well appointed unit, in terms of kitchen utensils, linens, furniture. Great appliances, convenient laundry room just down the hall, friendly atmosphere throughout, and a reserved parking spot. We would definitely stay again!

If you’re familiar with Hilo, you know this is a great location and a reasonable price for a clean, easily accessible apartment with everything you need.

The apartment was clean and everything inside was working as it should. Great location next to a nice tide pool area where snorkeling was possible. The building common areas were not ideal, and the pool needs a good cleaning, but for the money the location and condition of the apartment was a good value.

We enjoyed our stay in Hilo! This is a quintessential Hawaiian apartment/condo. Very simple, great ocean breezes, walk out and take a dip in the protected seawater pools kind of place.

The property adjoins a very swimmable beach and has a nice pool as well. The view from the 5th floor was fantastic and our place was clean and well stocked. Unfortunately the neighborhood was quite noisy.

Perfect location for us! Property was clean and beautifully decorated! We loved walking down to 4-Mile in the mornings and afternoons. Found honu too!

The condo was certainly satisfactory. Really only issue was the pool is not that great and it was freezing. There was no smoke detector, which my 4 year old grandson noticed. The location was very good.

Location, location, location!

The beach and surrounding area was amazing. Lots of turtles in the water right behind the property! We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was comfortable and clean. The road in front of the complex is noisy, but I wouldn’t let that deter you. Such a good spot!

Swimming with the Turtles in Hilo

We have stayed at the Mauna Loa Shores before and loved the location as well as the whole building setup. There are washing machines, a wonderful pool and not very crowded. And of course, the location and wonderful views. This condo was perfect for the two of us and had everything we could need. We would stay here again for sure!

It was beautiful ocean by condo. We enjoyed to walk and swim around. Quiet place but only night time it was Koki frogs but it’s HILO!!

The property was clean and easy to check into. Had all the cooking utensils one might need. Loved the access to Carlsmith park. The bed is very firm. I have back issues so found it uncomfortable. Also the street is noisy in the evenings, so bring earplugs, as bedroom is on street side. Of note check out time is 10am , so take it into consideration if not an early riser.

This condo was in a good location, close to water with a beautiful view of the water through the trees. Fairly quiet, some street noise and close to airport but that didn't bother us. Condo was very clean and well kept, really have no complaints about it. We enjoyed our week long stay.

First stay here was for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we came back and stayed in this same condo for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. It’s clean, well stocked and the location is perfect. Great Location - Secure Building

Great location near nice beach/park within minutes from downtown Hilo. Awesome manager communication with excellent local recommendations. Easy access, parking, and key elevator for secure building access. Only negative is there were many small bugs probably due to the closeness of the park and very loud traffic noise due to being on a main street.

Lovely spot

My wife and I had a very nice stay at Mauna Loa Shores! The lanai is nice and private, with a great view of the lagoon at Carlsmith Beach Park. The condo itself is very tastefully appointed and decorated, and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. The owner was very communicative leading up to our stay. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Hilo.

We loved this condo. It was clean and quiet and right next to carlsmith park. It was a bit of a drive (10 minutes) to get into town, but we loved the location. One of my favorite things was the view from the deck. Pure jungle and ocean. Breathtaking! The condo was also well furnished and so comfortable. Wonderful place to stay!
