Island Hideaway

Providing a great hangout spot, the home's large, screened-in porch boasts plush seating and extra dining space. Enter the home from here and discover the well-equipped kitchen. Here, the chef of your family can show off their culinary expertise amongst the updated appliances and ample meal prep space. When it's time to eat, the adjacent dining area accommodates seating for eight.

After eating, gather in the spacious living room, equipped with plentiful seating, a ceiling fan, and a large TV. Featuring its own private air-conditioner, this room is always kept extra cool and comfortable. The home's comfort extends into each of the bedrooms. The primary bedroom is a haven in itself with its large TV and en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. The additional bedrooms are just as comfortable with their plush linens, TVs, and ceiling fans. Each room has its own temperature control, ensuring everyone's comfort. A private washer/dryer and internet access round out the home's interior perks.

As the sun begins to set, head for the radiating warmth of the hot tub, or gather around the firepit for s'mores and campfire stories. Away from Island Hideaway, you can explore the area's numerous parks, golf courses, parks, and restaurants.

Hot tub is available mid-March through November 30th.
All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

A very enjoyable stay that we would want to experience again. Loved that despite being surrounded by other homes, the native trees & vegetation created a sense of privacy not experienced by many beach vacation houses. Also appreciate many of the "shabby" old house design choices that make this place unique.While the property was in need of small repairs and TLC, overall it was in good shape.

Wonderful, private get away!

This house was perfect for my 3 children and 2 dogs. There is a fenced in yard where we found turtles and little frogs. It's hidden within the trees! With that being said, you need to pay very close attention to the entrance. It can be hard to spot. If you have Verizon as your carrier, you do not get great service and you HAVE to connect to wifi. The wifi worked fine. Everything was just what we needed. We loved the hot tub and the beach was a 6 minute walk! It's in a very safe area, and family friendly. I would stay here again!

Has great potential but seems run down

The location is great plus it gives you the sense of privacy. Family and I still enjoyed our trip but the house had a lot of things broken or didn't work. Sheets were missing for the pull out bed and we contacted the host and didn't get sheets until 2 days later. The hot tub looked dirty upon arrival and 3 of the seats jets didn't work. The jacuzzi tub in the mater bath also didn't work. A lot of dishes in the cabinets were dirty or had food on them. There were lights that didn't work or flickerd while on. There was a broken can opener in the drawer and this was the only one we could find. The ac stopped working on our 2nd day sometime in the night. We contacted the host the next morning and was assured it would be marked urgent for someone to come fix it. Later that day we was told all the rooms had to be set on the same temperature and speed. We tried this and multiple other options. Contacted them again and they could not tell when someone was coming so I was stuck waiting all day at the house instead of enjoying the beach with my family. No one showed up that day. Finally someone came around 12pm the next day. We spent 2 days with no ac. Also during our stay we found multiple roaches we had to remove from inside the house. While the house needs some maintenance we still enjoyed our stay and would love to come back hoping that some issues get resolved.

Perfect spot for a short stay

We booked this property for a very last minute Spring break trip, and are very glad we did. The house was perfect for two adults and two teens to hangout without getting on top of each other. The short walk to the beach and short drive to shops and restaurants made the location ideal for us.

The house was great. Came for the Topsail Fall Festival and to visit with my son and his family in Holly Ridge. It was a very nice stay!

Pick Another Place.

Rental has potential but is misrepresented & neglected. Posted reviews are inaccurate. Much was dirty, missing & not working. Deck & screened porch were unusable due to dirtiness & poor condition. Walking inside turned our feet black with dirt. We have photos to document all of this. The one positive is the proximity to the beach & pool. We contacted Vacasa several times but it was unproductive. We had no a/c in one of the bedrooms until the 4th day of our 7 day stay in August heat after we reached out to Vrbo. We were told previous renters also reported the a/c not working. Ceiling lights weren’t working so bedrooms were dark. A remote was needed to operate them but there was only 1 & we could only use it in 1 bedroom. An outside light was not working so it was dark in the yard at night. The bbq was dirty & had puddles of wet coals so wasn’t usable. Other than the a/c issue there was no attempt by the rental company or owner to remedy any of this during our stay. We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years & have never encountered this. We have requested compensation but have yet to receive any. This was our once a year family vacation & we had to waste our limited time dealing with all of this. After experiencing these issues we researched reviews of Vacasa & saw this isn’t an isolated issue. Do your research outside of Vrbo for accurate representation of Vacasa & their properties. Hope that Vacasa & Vrbo have this rental fixed or removed from their listings.

Private and nice location

The inside of the house is nice. Some mold noted in laundry and guest bath. Main BR sink stopped up and we fixed with Draino. Washer has no cold water. Beds were comfortable. King size bed is very tall. Oven and tub not clean but not gross. Front bedroom air conditioner never worked. Very young man came out and did nothing but when VACASA called they told me they had a note it was fixed. Felt I was not heard so told them to forget about it since it was now time to leave the next day Nothing more was done but bring a small fan. The rest of the house was very cool and comfortable. When ceiling fans remote did not work I was told to look in drawers for batteries and there was none. We made do. House has community pool that is nice more than 3 min walk. Beaches are so nice. Has a longer driveway to be hidden off main street and you have to push the trash cart to the end of that driveway twice in the week.

Cute little cottage

Very cute home!!! Nicely set up!! We did notice mold, some bugs and a snake skin that startled us pretty badly. Vacasa was very accommodating trying to fix the cloudiness in the hot tub. I’m not one to complain but a regular exterminator could fix the issue. (?) I was expecting some bugs due to being surrounded by trees!

Quiet Bungalow

Wonderful quiet retreat

We loved the house, its layout and all amenities. The tree cover was perfect, creating its own unique oasis. The easy walk to the beach and sound allowed us to take advantage of both the ocean and kayaking on the bay. Access to the tennis court, clubhouse and the pool are definitely a big plus ( pool was still closed at the time of our stay). Kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare meals. Hot tub was great after the cold ocean water. The additional advantage of this place was that we could take our dogs with us.

Enjoyably

The property was as online, there was pest that had to be killed as we arrived and hair on shower wall. If you want to relax and take time for yourself this is the perfect place. I will book again.
