Welcome to The Southampton Cottage, an English style decorated home by Rice University. Walking distance to the Museum District, Rice University, Rice Village & Hermann Park. Centrally located in the upscale Boulevard Oaks/Southampton neighborhood. Perfect for couples, friends, business travelers & families looking for a serene, romantic ambiance with an English flair. The Southampton English Cottage is on the first-floor level of a traditional brick two story duplex located in a cul-de-sac on an upscale and quiet neighborhood, which also benefits from a 24-hour private patrol service for this neighborhood.

The entire space is surrounded with plenty of natural light conveying a serene romantic flair.

This elegant place has beautiful oak hardwood floors, a comfortable, stylish & large living room space with a 58" smart flatscreen tv above the faux fireplace, an elegant and spacious dinning room with beautiful english style furniture and formal dinning, two serene and romantic bedrooms with queen size beds and 43" smart TV in each room and a Jack-n-Jill bathroom (which accommodates both bedrooms), full equipped kitchen with beautiful, modern counter tops, upgrafed large sink & a large pantry, and a quaint office/sitting room space with high speed internet & plenty of natural light.

Guest Access:

The Southampton English Cottage has a smart lock with a keypad for entry to the front door of the building. Keys to the main entry door to the English Cottage is inside a combination lock on the first floor. Guests will be sent a welcome email with access code to the smart lock and combination lock prior to arrival. Wi-Fi username and password are also noted in the welcome letter.

Important things to note:

*Assigned parking available on driveway for up to one vehicle only.

* We have lawn maintance on Tuesdays, so if you are staying on that day, please expect lawn maintenance workers to be around the building and some noise from mowing the grass.

* Early check-in, late check out may be available for a $55 fee.

This place is amazing. It is just as the pictures show. It is super clean. We had to work whole there and my wife used the desk and I used the dining room table. It was perfect. It is in a good neighborhood and easy to get to Rice, UT Medical Center, the Galleria, etc. Jessica is really fast with replies when you message her. All in all, 10/10 I would stay here again.

The location was convenient for visiting with nearby family. The neighborhood was lovely with many charming older homes and large trees. Our downstairs apartment was comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen is small but provided everything that we needed. The bathroom could use renovation, as the shower functions poorly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely place, located in a wonderful neighborhood. The weather was perfect; the azaleas were starting to bloom. The place is a short neighborhood walk to a nice coffee shop, Rice University, and Hermann Park. We were back in Houston to see the rodeo, and it is also a super convenient short drive to NRG stadium. Jessica was a very responsive host for whatever questions we had about the place. Would definitely consider coming back the next time we are in Houston.

The place is super cute and in a very nice neighborhood! Communication was quick amd easy with the owner, and we couldnt have been happier with the stay. The construction wasnt an issue, and not overly noticable inside. Would highly reccomend!!!

This is a very charming apartment in a nice neighborhood. The unit was sparkling clean and had everything needed for my 4-day stay. The owner was responsive and provided clear instructions. I can definitely strongly recommend this place and would stay here again. A highrise is being build in the next block, which created some noise during the day, but nothing extreme. Check this place out!

A week with the grandkids!

My wife and I were in Houston to celebrate a grandchild's birthday and to visit family. The house was a mile from my son's house. It's in a quiet neighborhood. The house is clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The area is extremely walkable. Everything we needed was very close by, grocery, pharmacy, Starbucks (!), restaurants, et c. We discovered three restaurants less than 1/2 mile from the house (Raven, Picnic and Agnes). We recommend them all. Herman Park is walkable from the house and also recommended. The host was great and very responsive. If they'll have us and the house is available, we will definitely stay there again.

Gorgeous Neighborhood Close to Rice Univ

Gorgeous neighborhood, I enjoyed walking around for exercise and looking at the houses. It is close to Rice Univ, which is why we were there. Close to Museum District. It is the cleanest short-term rental we've ever stayed in. Plenty of room in this first-floor apartment. I worked remotely while we were there. There is a small office which worked perfectly for zoom calls. Internet was fast and consistent. Host was very helpful and available. Our plane was delayed and we arrived at 3am. Exhausted after a terrible day of travel, I couldn't get the lock box open, and she answered my text at 3am to help. As another review stated, there is a 20-story building being constructed in the back yard. Construction started precisely at 7am. This wasn't a problem for us since we were up. I was still able to work with what noise there was. However, if you are super sensitive to noise, you may want to see if this has been completed. It is a charming older house in a gorgeous old neighborhood. If you appreciate vintage houses and their quirky charms, you will love it.

The Langley construction is in your backyard.

I know the location very well as we lived in a nearby neighborhood for over 25 years. I love the neighborhood. The home was very clean. However, the listing needs to include the proximity of the 20 story new construction building, called The Langley. It is not a block away as stated in one of the reviews. It is directly behind the property. I would not have booked this reservation had I known the actual location. Exterior door latches don’t catch easily so you need to give it an extra push and visually confirm closure. Owner has a note advising hot water tank needs to be left on for a while to warm up. It never warmed up enough for a shower. Especially a problem during the recent icy weather Owner was very responsive until I tried to reach her to let her know i was leaving after the first night of a four night reservation on Tuesday. Still have yet to hear a word.
