I stayed at this apartment for a long period of time and it was an amazing place! The host was very responsive and attentive. I’d recommend this place to everyone who is interested in staying at Houston!

Wonderful place to stay for a couple. Excellent location with great walkability to shops, food, and culture. Weiyang was very responsive and a great host. No complaints and we'd definitely stay again.

My experience was not a good one, and for me, the main issue was the communication with the host. From the beginning, communication was not very smooth and responses were delayed, which made it difficult to resolve any situation efficiently.From the moment I arrived, I noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke and, from then on, I kept the windows open and aired the place out constantly. Beyond the issue itself, I feel that the situation could have been handled differently. When I explained what I was experiencing, I felt that my perception was repeatedly questioned rather than being taken as a starting point to look for a solution.I believe the situation could have been handled with greater empathy, with both sides trying to find a solution that worked for everyone.The following day, the host came to the property with her mother. They were speaking to each other in a language I did not understand. They asked me if they could take some photos, and I said yes. While I was speaking with the host, I noticed that her mother was filming me with her phone without having asked me first. I told them that I felt uncomfortable and politely asked them to stop filming me. The host then had to ask her mother to stop.Finally, the host asked me to leave the property that same day, and I had to find another place to stay.I have been visiting this city regularly since 2021, staying in this type of accommodation each time. This is the first time I have had an experience like this.

This is a super quaint and charming apartment. A little old, but decorated appropriately for its age. Loved the classic appliances. Made me feel like I was back at my grandmas in New Orleans. Ideal for a couple or single escape. The rooms were very clean, and the bed was really comfortable.The host was always very responsive to all our questions.Very safe neighborhood that is being upgraded to be even better. We walked around quite a lot.Awesome location. Walking distance to grocery store, LaLa Land coffee shop, ice cream shop and local brew garden. About 10-15 minute drive to everything cool, parks, museums, Pit Room BBQ (Michelin Star), Pinkerton’s BBQ, The Hobbit, Papasitos and more. We had a great time there. Thanks W.

Great location to everything

Quaint little apartment with great location to everything. The kitchen remodel is a great added bonus as well! Perfect for what we needed this weekend.

A week in Montrose

This place was the perfect get away for us. The right amount of space for when we stayed in, and not far away at all from any outside amenities. Nights were quiet and the place is exactly as the listing shows. Will definitely want to come back and stay.

Nice unit in a cool part of Houston

My partner and I stayed in this VRBO for the Final Four because of the location....the unit was exactly as described and had all the necessities had we wanted to do a longer stay. The location was top-notch with easy access to all of the nearby restaurants/museums/bars/etc that the Montrose area has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the host's communication was top-notch.

Wonderful

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying in Houston. Check-in and check-out were effortless. I had issues online rebooking due to our venue changing dates but the host was very accommodating and responded promptly to correct my error. The newly remodeled kitchen was very quant and I loved it. The location was close to many restaurants and attractions. If I make to Houston I will book this apartment again.

Nicely furnished, old apartment in nice neighborhood

This unit is in a large old brick house that has been divided into four apartments. The owner has decorated it nicely with attractive art and furnishings. It suffers a bit from typical old building issues: low water pressure, doors and cabinets that don't latch, etc.

Giant roach in dining area, failed inspection notice at entry

DO NOT rent here!!! Upon arrival a city of houston failed inspection notice was attached to the front door with a ‘do not remove’ comment. Our room code did not work, but we called host and she got us in within a few minutes. Host told us to park in back but not in enclosed parking area as she considered it unsafe. Before we even got anything carried in from the car, my wife crushed a huge roach in the dining area on the floor. We contacted the host, asked for a refund, and booked a hotel for the 5 days we were in houston. The host has not indicated that she is considering a refund, so we are working directly with vrbo who was unable to contact her so far either.

Hi Jimmie- our team actively reached out to you for resolving the cockroach issue. You insisted that you will not stay. Our cancellation policy notes that no refund for any cancellation after you checked in. We have also explained that the City Inspection is not failed and it's in progress. It's a required inspection for every 4 years. We had recently built a new deck for the apartments which all our guests loved and it is waiting on the City for the final inspection for completing the permitting / approval process. As for the parking, the repair of the carport was done the very next day. As a courtesy call, we reminded all our guests to park outside the carport because it was under the construction / repair process. The guest has offered to not leave any reviews if we provide a refund. We do not believe this is of integrity for the sake of future guests. We want honest reviews so that we can constantly improve our performances and strive to become the best host in the Montrose Area.

Great location but the unit could be better

The bed is very comfortable. The Samsung AC unit in the living room works very well. The location was good for everywhere we needed to go. Neighborhood was quiet overnight. I walked 2 miles each morning and saw a lot of people out doing the same. When we got to the front door - up the stairs on a hot Houston afternoon the keypad code would not work. It took a number of calls to connect with the property manager who suggested a number of other codes. None of them worked either. Keypad was not working so she directed us to the back door. Thank goodness there was a backdoor. The kitchen is really cute on one side. I wonder if the owner is renovating the unit as it is rented. Glasses, bowls and utensils we used were definitely not clean and had to be thoroughly washed. Living area was comfortable and the HVAC unit in that room cooled it well. Bathroom is also half renovated. We were worried about the stability of the sink on the wall. Bed was very comfortable. The problem was the window unit was not effective at cooling the room even when set to 65. There are zero hangars in the closet. The unit has potential and housekeeping needs to do better at cleaning the dishes, etc.

Guest arrived with a very anxious attitude. She was not understanding and was call bombing our property manager. She made 20 calls nonstop when the property manager texted her that she's calling her back in 5 mins. Sally just wouldn't listen and kept calling with demanding attitude. The apartment was fully renovated. The design was to keep the old charm countertop from the original build (1930s) on one side and build a full new counters on the other side. Sally didn't understand the charm. Bathroom was not under renovation. We work very hard to keep the apartment clean and cozy.

Great place to stay in Montrose

We are a couple in our sixties who like a nice, clean apartment with some outdoor space. Because Houston has great weather in November (at least while we visited), we did not want anything fancy or expensive. We were a bit hesitant because this seemed like a newer listing without reviews. We were so happy with our experience. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It is an older building that is being remodeled, so not everything is brand new, but we wanted to be in Montrose and we live in a older house ourselves. Montrose is the only area that we felt we could do without a rental car. Great restaurants, good public transportation and the availability of city bikes. The balcony allowed us to sit outside. It isn't an ocean view, but being able to sit outside and enjoy the great weather was important. The unit has a mini-split Air conditioner/heater in the living room which would cool or heat. That was also important to us because we were worried if it got cold. Some of the apartments in Houston don't have a good heating system, but had it been cold, we would have been fine. Weiyang is a delightful hostess. She was very responsive. Access and check-in was very easy and we like the code system which means we don't have to deal with keys. Very quiet street even though it is close to busy Alabama street. A great grocery store very close. We didn't cook - but had breakfast, coffee, lunch take-outs there. One could cook as there is a nice stove, fridge and some pots and pans. We hope to stay here again when we visit our son in Houston. Thanks Weiyang.

Beautiful Get Away Home

Me and my boyfriend rented this home our for a romantic getaway and it was absolutely incredible! The home was so spacious and beautifully for us, the kitchen was recently renovated into a beautiful teal aesthetic and it was just gorgeous. The art and coziness of the home really made it very relaxing for us. We also met the owner and she was very sweet and helpful with everything! The area is literally a 3 min walk to HEB and there are so many bars less then 7 minutes in the area. We will absolutely come back! It was such a great experience.

Great place to stay for art lovers

The very best thing about staying at this property is the art that's beautifully on display in every room. That made it seem like a special place. The location is also great We were able to check in at 4pm and easily make it to the Menial Collection and Rothko Chapel, which are just a 15 min walk or 3 min drive from the property. And there are several restaurants and food stores in walking distance. It seemed very clean, albeit with some things being a little run-down. There was no French press as listed, but there was a serviceable coffee maker. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and thought it was a very good value for the price.
