Built new in 2004, this home features 2,000 sq ft of living space with four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Maple hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, tongue & groove pine and 'Cottage' decor adorn the interior. The home has also been designed with 'Family Fun' in mind with separate spaces for grown-ups and little ones alike.

The Beach House on all-sports Upper Herring Lake offers 80 feet of private sandy beach frontage just 40 feet off the back deck! You may even catch a glimpse of the eagle that nests nearby.

Home includes the use of a *FREE pontoon boat w/10 gal free fuel (Memorial week til early October), kayaks (May 1st til Nov 1st), pedal boat (April 1st til Nov 15th), Docks (Mid-May til Nov 1st)

*As a FREE bonus to our guests in our summer months we offer you the use of one of a pontoon boats. They are nothing special. They are clean and well maintained. They range in size from 18-24ft. They range in age from 20-30 years old w/2stroke motors ranging from 25 - 35 hp. While these boats may not fulfill the boating dreams of some people, they are perfect for a sunset cruise or a family fishing outing. We even supply you with 10 gallons of pre-mixed gasoline!. To get the most enjoyment from these boats it is recommended that person with a knowledge of boating and two stroke motors be involved operating them. If not we do have full instructions, and technical assistance available if necessary. See photo of typical pontoon boat.

- For our winter guests we recommend bringing an all-wheel-drive vehicle or at the very least a front wheel drive with good snow tires.

- Fireplace available Thanksgiving - April 1st.

Ski weekend

Great place to stay! Close to Crystal Mountain and downtown Frankfort. House is very clean and we had plenty of room with our group of 7. We had everything we needed for the weekend. We will definitely stay again!

3-Day Getaway

We needed a quick getaway after Christmas and decided to go skiing at Crystal Mountain with another family. This house on Upper Herring Lake was perfect for two families. Kids stayed in bedrooms with bunkbeds and adults split the other 2 rooms. As mentioned by everyone else, the views looked amazing. It was winter for us, but you could tell the location on the lake was ideal. The primary suite upstairs had a sitting area and the best view of the lake. The "gaming" equipment was old and outdated, but this didn't bother the adults. We spent most of the day skiing and were able to have meals together in the big kitchen/dining area. The house was comfortable and the layout suited us well. Thanks for a last mintute getaway that we will remember always.

Lovely winter escape

We stayed for a mid week winter break to do some skiing at nearby Crystal Mountain. The house is perfectly located just 18 minutes from the ski resort and ten minutes from stores and restaurants. Lovely hone in excellent condition and super clean. Beautiful views across the lake Quiet neighborhood that feels very cared for and safe. The house has everything you need and the movie selection was an added bonus. Highly recommend the movie Secondhand Lions!! It was a very relaxing stay and being able to bring our dogs along made it especially nice.

Charming Lakefront Cabin

Great views and location! 6 adults were very comfortable at this property. I imagine it’s really wonderful in the Summer. We chose this cabin due to its proximity to Crystal Mountain and Caberfae for snow skiing!

Beautiful

We had a wonderful time at the beach house! We went a couple days after Christmas and it was still decorated. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. The lake was beautiful, even though it was icy and snowy. And the location was close to downtown Frankfort and an easy drive to Sleeping Bear. We definitely recommend staying here and would come back again.

Michigan Trip!

Location was perfect for our stay in Michigan. Great access to a lot nearby attractions. The view from the living room was wonderful to wake up to as well for watching sunsets on the lake. We’d definitely stay here again when we come back to visit.

Perfect cottage on a beautiful lake!

The Beach House has tons of space, two big bathrooms, a great kitchen and dining area, and a wonderful private beach. We took pontoon rides nightly and fished constantly. The towns of Frankfort and Beulah made for great day trips. We highly recommend this home!

Amazing winter getaway!

We had an amazing time at this cabin! Arrived a few days after Christmas and stayed 3 nights. It snowed from the moment we arrived until we left -- and my family of snowboarders loved it! We snowboarded one day at Crystal Mountain, and snowshoed another day. Went into Frankfort for dinner and also the Cabbage Shed, which has the friendliest waitstaff around. The cabin itself had everything we needed. Lots of room for the kids to play in the gameroom, and the master bedroom had the best views. The huge windows let you see across the lake -- unless there was impending snow! We could hear the wind howling off the lake, eerie and beautiful! The little fireplace did a great job heating the whole place, and felt great after a day in the cold. Overall, it was an awesome place to stay in the winter. I can only imagine how beautiful it'd be in the summer with that amazing lake view. Beautiful cabin!

Excellent Up North Weekend Getaway

Our stay at the Beach House was fantastic. We stayed for 3 nights and would've loved to have been there for one more night. Spacious, clean and very comfortable for all of our guests and the dogs too. The view of Upper Herring lake made us feel like we were at our summer lakehouse in Port Huron, only with views of the beautiful sunset. We also enjoyed the short drive to downtown Frankfort. Stormcloud Brew Co. was our go-to spot for Fri. and Sat. I would definitely recommend this lovely home to other guests and I could see us coming back for an up north summer trip!

This is a dedicated vacation rental which means we don't have drawers, closets and cupboards full of personal items. Also, the home was built to allow kids to enjoy their own space while adults can enjoy theirs.
