The Puffin, a 1906 Dutch Colonial Revival home, beckons you to relax on the inviting wraparound verandah as you indulge yourself in the sights and sound of our charming seaside home. We are located in the heart of Cape May's historic district, just 1/2 block to the beautiful Cape May beach, recently rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the US by the Travel Channel. The Puffin is conveniently located just steps away from a variety of dining and shopping experiences both along Beach Avenue and the Washington Street Mall.
Our lower level suite, The Terrace, offers 2 bedrooms and a recently updated kitchen/living area as well as a full updated bathroom. Although you may be tempted to step back in time when you enter Cape May, be assured that we provide all of the modern conveniences to make you stay enjoyable. Our kitchen is equipped with granite counters, dishwasher, oven, stove, refrigerator, and microwave. Central air conditioning, a 50" flat screen TV in the living area, a 28" flat screen TV in the main bedroom, and a two step down rear courtyard private entrance make it an ideal suite for families and seniors. A sleeper sofa in the living room allows accommodations for 6 guests.
We are open year round, so visit often. Experience a relaxing summer vacation, Victorian Week in October, a festive Victorian Christmas celebration in December. or any of the numerous other activities and special events throughout the year. Remember...location is key. And there is no better location in Cape May than 32 Jackson Street!

Nice place, perfect location!

We loved it here for our short stay in Cape May! It was a nice place, clean and easy to access on the ground level. And it was in a perfect location close to the beach and shops and restaurants. We will be looking to stay again in the future.

Great for us with baby

The communal washer/dryer was right outside our door which was great because we had loads of laundry with the baby. The location can't be beat. The apartment was cozy and a perfect amount of space for us.

Very nice stay, excellent location

We had a very nice stay at the Puffin! It is perfectly located within walking distance to everything desirable in Cape May. The Puffin was clean, easily accessible, and came with a parking space. The space was tight, but made it much nicer to not have to worry about walking a long distance for parking. Will stay again!

Beautiful property!

We’ve stayed at this property in the past and will do so in the future. It’s rooms at comfortable and clean. Cook in or eat out at the many fine restaurants an easy walk away. Also an easy walk to the beach and shopping.

Anniversary weekend in Cape May

The place was great, super clean and in the heart of all the action. Joe and Eileen were fantastic to work with, and gave us great ideas of where to go and what to do while in town. Would highly recommend The Puffin to anyone looking for a great time down in Cape May

Great retreat

My family and I just spent the weekend in this fantastically clean condo in the best section of Cape May. You can't beat this location at all! Owner was very easy to work with and can't wait to come back! Thank you!

Fun away weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean, everything was updated and in good working order and the location was perfect. Eileen was also great to work with. We especially enjoyed sitting up on the porch on a rainy Saturday afternoon playing games! Would definitely go back!

Hidden gem

Our family of 5, with 3 young children, had the best time at the Puffin Terrace. The size was just right for us, the location is unbeatable, and I can't underestimate how responsive and available the owners were. It was also very helpful to have a basement-level/first floor space with no walk-up, given our young children.

Prime people watching from lovely porch!

Our 2 year old granddaughter delighted in greeting vacationers as they strolled the most Victorian street in CapeMay, Jackson street. Greatest location for closeness to best beach and Washington Street Mall. A small gem!

Perfect!

This little unit was perfect. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Quick walk to shopping , restaurants and the beach. Great shared deck to have a glass of wine or lunch. Only downside is that it doesn’t have a view- but we knew that beforehand. We were very pleased and would stay there again.

A Taste of Cape May Charm

I stayed here with my friends and we were all impressed with the property. There was nothing lacking in accommodations. In fact I was surprised to find a curling iron. The beds, including the pull out sofa, were comfortable. In fact, the pull out sofa was the most comfortable I have been on. The kitchen and bathroom are modern. I would say the owners gave thought to details.

Nice suite in a great location

We enjoyed our long weekend away. The prime location meant we could walk to enjoy nearly everything Cape May has to offer. Clean and roomy suite despite being the lower level. Take heed to the on site parking notice - they’re not kidding when they say it is a bit tight. But we had no issue with our small car. Thanks for an enjoyable time. We definitely see why the Terrace is already booked for the entire summer!

Great location

My family of four (two audults, plus children 13 and 10) went to Cape May for a socially distanced weekend of walking around, seeing holiday lights, etc. This condo was well sized for our family and perfectly situated in the historic part of town, which was walking distance from everything we wanted to see; we used the provided parking spot and didn't need to use the car again for the weekend. The condo is new, clean, and well-appointed. We made a number of meals and found everything we needed. This is a ground floor unit, so there is no view, but plenty of light and a perfect location for getting out to the beach or town.

Magical Porch Setting

My best friend and I had the most amazing time. The apartment was perfect for us and the porch was magical to sit on and watch the activity. The location cannot be beat!!! Just park your car and walk everywhere!!! The only minor issue was that the bedroom is very bright at night. The neighbors have their lights on until well after midnight and it lit up the room. Luckily I had brought a sleeping mask just in case. Black out curtains would help. I’m sure it wouldn’t bother many people but I can’t sleep if it isn’t dark. We loved our stay and are hoping to stay here again!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Post-Labor Day Stay w/ Infant

This property was perfect for us with a 5 month old. Most nearby units have steps up the front porch but as the listing says it is only two outdoor steps and then one indoor step into the unit which made it very easy to get the stroller/carrier inside. Having a washer/dryer right outside the unit was a big perk for traveling with a baby also. We rented a crib through one of the preferred linen rental companies. Location is perfect, just steps from the Washington Mall shops and less than a block to the beach. The unit was clean and plenty of space for a small family. The front porch was a nice spot to enjoy a takeout dinner. Some reviews mentioned the low ceilings as a negative but I barely noticed (6ft). The on-site parking spot is a tight squeeze and requires some careful maneuvering but it was so convenient; anything bigger than a standard sedan would probably need to use the off-site spot which is an easy 5 minute walk away. We'll definitely be back!

Awesome Location and Awesome Apartment!!

Working with Eileen was great. She communicates very well and shares all the ins and outs. The location is awesome! 1/2 block to Washington Mall and 1/2 block to Beach. You can't get any better in Cape May. There are 2 parking spots provided (which is a huge perk if you know Cape May). One is behind the house and one is at an offsite lot a few blocks away. Again.. really great perk! The condo itself was super clean, really nice upgrades, and very comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and sofa bed is very high quality.. no bars.. a great mattress. Both bedrooms are nice sizes and the kitchen was well stocked. Bathroom updated and very nice as well. I spent a week with a friend and I really liked just stepping down 2 steps and being in the condo. It was really easy for packing and unpacking the car because you can pull it into the driveway right next to the door for loading and unloading (private entrance). Going up on the porch was really easy as well and it is super nice to site on Jackson street and watch the ambiance. I had my morning coffee on the porch and enjoyed reading on it after the beach. Overall this is an amazing place to stay.. a real gem... I look forward to staying here again!

The Puffin was very clean, modernized, and a perfect place to stay. It had a complete kitchen, living room / dining area, and 2 spacious bedrooms with queen size beds. There was mention of low ceilings, I am 5' 6" and there wasn't any problem. I would guess if you are 6 foot or under, you will not have a problem. It is about 100 steps to the beach and about 150 steps to the Mall area which is filled with shops and various restaurants. It is a ground floor, 2 steps down and very easy to load and unload. It has on-site parking and another off-site parking permit included. It also has 4 beach passes ($25.00 each for a week otherwise). There is a washer and dryer right next to the entrance door. It has outside shower with hot and cold water. There is covered space for beach gear, but I kept mine in the back of the SUV. This is the 4th site I've been to in Cape May and it is a 10, the others were a 4 or 5. The owners communicated throughout from when we first booked. They left all the details you need to know on the refrigerator. They set up the door code for you and it is emailed a few days ahead. I definitely will stay there again. Subsequently, we brought our now-grown children here for many vacations and have done it all over the years: bike rentals, surrey rides, mini golf, family reunions, deep sea fishing, strolling through town enjoying the architecture, playing at the children's arcade, and of course relaxing on the beautiful beach. It is truly a wonderful destination with something for everyone.
