Cozy riverfront cottage with an easy beach-inspired coastal MI vibe!

Welcome to the River Sweet Cottage located along the banks of the AuSable River in the heart of downtown Oscoda, MI. Our newly renovated cozy 2bdrm, 1 bath cottage is just a short distance from the beautiful beaches of Lake Huron. The River Sweet Cottage is a fully equipped, and well-maintained home with all the amenities to provide a memorable vacation. Coastal inspired décor surrounds you inside and out at the River Sweet cottage. New furniture, mattresses, tv’s, heat/AC, bathroom linens and bedding all provided. The comfort extends to the large partially covered deck with new furnishings, a large gas fire table to snuggle up too on the cooler evenings, solar lighting, gas grill and a picnic table. Boat parking is available along the seawall. For strong swimmers snorkeling is amazing right outside the cottage. With crystal clear water you can usually spot a fish or two swimming around. Check out unique shops, delicious restaurants, ice cream shops, and the beautiful downtown beach all within walking distance of the River Sweet cottage. Grab a book, challenge each other at a board game, explore our trails and parks or go outside for some cornhole! Local and state Snowmobile/ATV trails accessible from home. Looking for more space for larger groups? Book both The River Sweet Cottage and The River House @ 102 (#4944684) located next door! Enjoy the river rippling by, catch some fish along the mighty AuSable River or take in a nice fire from the spacious yard along the river's edge. Whichever way you RELAX, the River Sweet has you covered!

This houses one of the best we have stayed in. Very clean, quiet and super easy check in and out. Cute decorating and the porch fire was amazing. It was quite windy so we didn’t use the fire pit but there was a load of wood when we arrived. Definitely would stay again. Not much to do in town but the bike trail is great and close to the beach.

What a wonderful and relaxing stay on the AuSable in Oscoda. The accommodations were very clean and the hosts very welcoming. Fishing was great as we enjoyed beautiful weather and the fish were biting right outside our door. I highly recommend this and any other the properties by this host if you find yourself on the sunrise side of Michigan.

The house is exactly as described. All the rooms were clean and the furnishings / decor are modern. Conveniently located on the Au Sable River close to town and the marina. Hosts are good communicators. Enjoyed spending time with friends and family boating on Lake Huron.

The place was very clean, we had everything we needed. The view on the river was amazing and the deck was fantastic!! Huge plus that we were able to park our boat on the river. Great communication with the hosts, they were very accommodating. We will definitely come back! Thank you

This property was better than we anticipated. very clean, decorated very nicely, stocked with everything you need. Air conditioning kept us very cool during the hottest summer in years. For being in town, it was very quiet. Outdoor porch was wonderful. Small bed was a little firmer than I was used to. But overall, we loved it and would definitely stay again.

Awesome getaway

We had an awesome time. Jerry was very accommodating! The weather was perfect and it was a much needed time of rest and relaxation! Will definitely be back!

Perfect little spot!

This cottage has just what you need in a spot that has everything you need. On the river, near the lake but walking distance to stores, restaurants and ice cream. Jerry and Jen are so welcoming and accommodating. Cottage was clean and well taken care of.

Up North Cozy Cottage

Perfect for our stay! Well appointed, clean, whimsical lake decor, large fire pit area, ample parking, and wonderful outdoor covered deck area - which was my favorite space! Highly recommend.

Comfortable home on the Au Sable!

Very clean and comfortable! Lots of things to do in the area, hiking, beach time, rock hunting, bike riding and much more. Shower was great and kitchen was well stocked. Would recommend to family and friends!

Relaxing getaway!

This property was very clean and the decor was very coastal. Gas fire each night on the deck overlooking the water. Wood fire pit was available but a little windy during our stay. Within walking distance to several businesses. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Short Trip

I was there for a couple of days on a work trip. The property is very well maintained and very clean. I didn't get to enjoy the outdoor amenities but the view was great!

Relaxing River Getaway

What a wonderful and relaxing stay! We already want to return. The cabin was beautifully decorated, supplied with all the usual necessities, and plenty of other "extras" that were thoughtful and nice to have. Being able to fish right off the property and watch the river from the covered porch or even the living room was our favorite aspect. The location was so peaceful, but yet close to everything as well. Thank you for providing such a lovely place for the pefect getaway.

Lovely cottage with super river view

Super place with every amenity. Fully stocked kitchen with all we needed to make our meals. The bed was comfy with very nice bedding. Great shower. Spent hours on the deck watching the sun come up, the boat and geese action on the river, and then a super full moon. The cottage is close to many area parks and beaches so even in October there’s lots to do outside. It was even more fun for us because it was possible to talk to the google machine and get music, news, weather…we’re old, we don’t have this at home!

Nice place on the river

We love the Tawas area and this was a last minute booking for us. Nice property. Quite new. We’ve rented a number of vacation homes over the years and it’s the small touches that go a long way such as a few extra trash bags and rolls of paper towels. Some spices in the cupboard. Phone chargers. It was clear thought had gone into the amenities of the property.

Very sweet little river cottage with excellent host/amenities!

This home was very well appointed and located very close to town, right on the Au Sable river! We stayed here spring break/Easter weekend to do some fishing and get away and the best part of the trip was definitely this house. The weather didn't cooperate to allow our littles to get outside much (2 and 6 yo), but the home was cozy, stocked with board games, cards and puzzles, and smart TVs in both bedrooms and the living room. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed, including coffee which was great when we realized we forgot to bring some. Even spices, extra cleaning and paper products, and some pantry staples which is rarely the case with vacation rentals! The hosts were super kind and loaned us some extra fishing tackle for the kids, left us some tasty treats in the house to welcome us, and even left some sweet little Easter baskets for the kids on Easter morning! I'm so thoroughly impressed with how nice this home was and we definitely would stay here again!
