Burnham Beach Cottages #2-Block to Beach!

I have 3x delightfully restored beach cottages in South Redondo a block from the beach-located on the same grounds as both other beach cottages (BBC1 & BBC3).
The Burnham Beach Cottage(s) was built at the turn of the century originally as a B&B with many cottages......We are a unique property so please feel free to email us with any questions or requests.

Simply put……a B&B experience with the privacy & independence of a vacation rental…...

This cottage comprises 1 bedroom, living room with comfy queen-size sofa/futon bed, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with clawfoot tub with shower and grounds where you can BBQ, relax in the grounds or just take in the evening sunsets on your porch. You will be provided with ironed bed linens, bath & beach towels, wi-fi, TV, iron & ironing-board, bath salts so as to enjoy the claw-foot tub to the fullest.
Please note the cottage is ideal for 2 but can accommodate 4. * Nightly rate is based on 2 people sharing

Enjoy the ocean & views within minutes from the cottage. Walk,stroll,jog or ride the coastline path that starts here in Redondo and goes all the way to Malibu; ...easily engage in surfing, swimming, volleyball, walking, running, skating, biking, hiking....there's heaps to do in these beach cities & the list continues....art/food/music festivals, outdoor movies in the parks/on the beach, international volleyball tournaments to watch, or if you would rather just relax in our gardens or on the beach and do nothing... you can do that too...
Varied selection of restaurants/cafes are on hand.
We are a quintessential SoCal beach town,close to LA without being in the hectic-ness of LA. All is easily accessible by freeways, public transportation, sightseeing tours pick-up at local Redondo Beach hotel.
Enjoy LA in a beach oasis- it makes coming to LA quite a different experience...
Terrific spacious outdoor peaceful yard area(s) great for socializing, reading, chatting to new friends or just enjoying the sunsets.

Great cottage in a great location

Our family of four stayed in the rear cottage for three nights. The place is carefully decorated and the patio is a great spot to relax. The location is just a few minute walk to the pier, beach, veterans park and many dining options. The fold down bed was comfortable for our two kids, and I liked the box fan to run at night. This place is perfect for couples, although we managed just fine for our family of four. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect place!

This cottage is super cute. I just needed a quiet place for the weekend at the end of a hectic business trip so this was a great. It’s quiet, a short walk to the beach and the check-in/check-out process was simple. I would definitely return.8

Absolutely perfect little cottage

I had such a great stay here. Lovely having a fully equipped kitchen to be able to cook. I got to bike and rollerblade on the boardwalk, read in the hammock, and explore Redondo Beach, including the Thursday farmer’s market. I’d love to return here in the future. Terrific deal for the price; such a special place.

Wendy was very good at communicating and making sure staying at the cottages was simple and relaxing. Furnished very comfortable. Great water pressure and hot water in the claw foot tub. If you need an escape from the day to day hustle, this is the place. Also if it gets a little warm, just open the windows and front door, turn on the fans and let the fresh coastal air take you away. We stayed 4 nights and have zero regrets picking this as our home base for this part of our trip.

The property was pristine, comfortable, so incredibly charming, and the host was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay next time, it couldn't have been more perfect!!

Beach Getaway

Great little beachy house. Perfect for our family vacation to visit family. Loved the closeness to the Redondo Pier. Rented e-bikes and got a cultural experience in Venice Beach. Great place for a couple.

Our bungalow was in the perfect spot for our visit to Redondo Beach and the pier. We could walk anywhere! The outside area was so charming and quiet as well! We will for sure coming back!

Fun overnight stay

We had just a day and an evening in L.A. and this was such a fun ending to our time in California. The bungalow is absolutely adorable and beautifully outfitted.I didn't notice from the listing that there are three (I think?) bungalows all in a row, fairly close to one another, with beautiful gardens in between. Would be so perfect for a family reunion or several families to stay at.Great Mexican food nearby. Doable walk to the beach for folks with no mobility issues. Thanks for a great stay!

Cozy little cottage

Wonderful experience. Wendy is a gracious host and the cottages are clean and cute. We had a great time. Redondo and Hermosa Beach are great communities with lovely beaches and restaurants and bars. Very easy to get to from LAX. Will visit again.

Adorable place so so so close to the pier!!!

We had a great stay and fell in love with the whole vibe of Redondo Beach, or the tiny bit we latched onto for such a short trip. I did suffer an odd spell of “vertigo” while getting ready for dinner since the cottage does lean towards the bathroom. My fiancé reminded me that tile and a claw-foot tub will do that to a place. We found the hummingbirds that danced around in the morning to be so engaging and exciting! Would highly recommend for quick trips.

Paradise!

Comfort, Convenience and Spectacular. Those are the words we would use to describe this property. And the service from Wendy was exceptional, making us feel welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. We are so happy we found this property. It really feels like a surfer's oasis right next to the beach. All of the design work that has gone into the cottages and the property is amazing. It feels so comfortable and is exactly what our family was looking for as a quick getaway. We will be back many times. Thank you, thank you Wendy for making our vacation so perfect!

Charming place to stay, 2 blocks from the beach. Literally, right across the street from the King Harbor pier which is great for food, drinks, people watching, listening to music, etc. The Burnham Beach Cottages is a great place to stay, would recommend. Cheers!

I particularly love restoring older properties so when we came across the Burnham House & Cottages with all it's historic history it was impelling to want to restore and bring back to life all the workmanship so often found in these older homes....anyway....It certainly is most rewarding now to sit back and have others enjoy what I have re-created. Being so close to the beach is also most delightful and certainly well enjoyed. With my years of running Bed & Breakfast Inns & my enjoyment to meet people from all walks of life its proved to be a perfect marriage. I love that I have a historic landmark that is only 2 blocks to the beach and that I have provided such an enjoyable & peaceful environment for anyone that wants to indulge.There are great spacious grounds with little cottages sprinkled amongst the grounds where you can snuggle up in a garden chair and read a book, snooze in the hammock or an evening on the porch snipping fine wine and eating delicious food.... I love taking a long walk in the morning along the beach and watching the surfers & dolphins mingle & the whales migrating in March/April. ***The sunsets are amazing and truly lovely to enjoy...very relaxing***.

Enjoy the coastline within a short walk to pier & beach path that sprawls from Palos Verdes to Santa Monica...easily engage in surfing, swimming, volleyball, walking, running, skating, biking, hiking....there's heaps to do in these beach cities & the list continues....art/food/music festivals, outdoor movies in the parks/on the beach, international volleyball tournaments to watch, or if you would rather just relax in the gardens or on the beach and do nothing... you can do that too... Varied selection of restaurants, eateries, cafes etc surround. Oh and not to forget, all the sites LA has to offer is easily accessible by car/public transportation private tours from local snazzy Hotels. Enjoy LA in a beach town oasis- it makes coming to LA quite a different experience...
