With stunning ocean views, elegant style, and artistic elements, The Mermaid is truly unique. Nestled in Arch Cape, about 70 miles west of Portland, this tranquil getaway affords easy access to the beach along a nature trail. Once upon a time a live album (Arch Cape Sessions) was recorded in the living room, writers have holed up for weeks on end to focus on their craft, and families and artists have come to the Mermaid to refresh, relax, and reflect.

When the tide is out, wander North around various sandstone outcroppings to Hug Point, Arcadia Beach, even all the way to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Wander South around the Cape and you will find the Arches for which Arch Cape is named, and some exquisite tidepools. Fine dining and shopping are minutes away in Cannon Beach to the North, and Manzanita to the South.

The Mermaid sleeps 6, offers a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, large upper and lower decks, and a hot tub with an ocean view.

Wonderful get away

The house is perfect for two! The beach is wonderfully close as are the towns north and south. Hot tub was great to relax in and it was a quiet, easy to find neighborhood. Comfortable inside and out. A gem!

Arch Cape Get-a-way

We hit the Oregon Coast with sunshine and no wind. The house is perfect - well kept, everything worked, comfy bed, and beautiful view of the ocean. The path to the beach was remarkable. Great stay, great home.

Fantastic

Perfect location between Manzanita and Canon beach. Very cozy with the fireplace. Hot tub was perfect place to relax and watch the ocean. Kitchen is well equipped. We had a blast.

Great location

Great location and nice place. Had everything our families needed to enjoy a relaxing few days on the coast. Note that you will be expected to do almost all the laundry before you leave.

Can’t even begin to thank Rose and the hospitality she showed us coming back. We loved being able to relax and recoup from our daily travels up and down the Oregon coast in this beautiful home. The artistic details and cozy furniture really made this place feel like a home away from home. I hope many more travelers will come to experience the joy and serenity we did when staying here.

Beautiful stay!

When we arrived the house was beautifully cleaned and looked super cozy. We loved the hot tub and the quick drive to cannon beach. The bed was very comfortable, the owners were extremely communicative, and the view of the beach and sunsets every night were breathtaking! We would love to come back and stay when we’re in town again!

Beautiful Getaway

We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful, unique home in Arch Cape. The kitchen is well appointed, everything was very clean and comfortable. It's a short 5 min drive to Cannon Beach and is quiet and relaxing, away from the busyness and tourism of town. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings, listening to the ocean waves, and took several nice walks down a short path to the beach. Just lovely! The owners were very sweet and accommodating in our communications, and we look forward to another vacation there!

Mother's Day Weekend

Our stay was so beautiful! We got beautiful sunsets and moon views from the hot tub. The Aurora Borealis was visible too!! The location was perfect to have a base between adventures. We eent one day south and the next days north. The beaches were beautiful. All in all a great getaway with the family. The host here are so thoughtful to provide so many amenities. We were very comfortable during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Anniversary Trip

We got 3 rainy days there. It was a cozy place to be glad to come home to. The hot tub was well kept. The kitchen had every item you could dream of. The walk to beach was perfect & safe never had to cross route 101 to get there. So close to Cannon Beach & great food/shopping. We loved it !

Unique spot in Arch Cape!

Loved the view, beautiful walk to the beach, and well apportioned home. We were three generations and this home suited us well. If any of us had had challenge with stairs it would have been different as the spiral stairs up to the second floor were tricky. One of the two upstairs bedrooms is more of a loft as it’s open to the downstairs on one wall. Hot tub was wonderful and we enjoyed the fire pit. The biggest downside for us was there no barbecue to be found but we were guessing they maybe were replacing an old one as we saw grill tools.

Oregon Coast Getaway

The Mermaid is a lovely spot to stay on the Oregon Coast. It is a quiet and peaceful location to relax, and it is a great home base as you branch out to explore the coast. The town of Cannon Beach is just minutes away. The kitchen is well stocked.

Would definitely visit again!

The Mermaid was just beautiful as advertised. The view was amazing and you could hear the ocean waves from the house. The house was comfortable, clean, and had lots of amenities provided. Access to the beach was great too.

Awesome Thanksgiving holiday

Beautiful place. Comfortable beds. Very well appointed kitchen. Views from upper and lower decks were outstanding! Arch Cape is an outrageously beautiful place. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Beautiful

It was spacious yet cozy enough for a two person getaway. Beautiful views and location to go to the beach or into town, or cook with a lookout to the trees and ocean. Communication was wonderful. The hot tub was perfect and was overall a magical stay.

Perfect week

This house has a great location with beautiful views and easy access to the nearby coastal towns. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of Cannon Beach but a quick trip to there or Manzanita. The home is very clean and well equipped with all the necessities. Very comfortable and relaxing.

Quiet location

Very quiet location just off of the highway. Upper and lower decks are wonderful. Very relaxing to sit in the sun and enjoy the ocean view. Sunsets from the deck are beautiful! You can hear the ocean waves at night. House was spotless. Kitchen is very well stocked.

Quiet, private, gated neighborhood

Pros 10 min walk to the beach that literally goes under 101, and is a private walk—VERY COOL! Very quiet, gated neighborhood Privacy Woods to the right of you to look at You can hear the ocean Very Nicely supplied for cooking w a modern kitchen Hottub worked nicely, although I could not get the front jets to work but maybe it was me The pictures don’t do this house justice! We would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. Stairs are twisty and narrow—for someone w knee issues or elderly—could be an issue. Rose let Us know the day after we arrived that the dryer was not working and that it would be replaced after we left—so we were not able to wash or dry our clothes (we stayed a week) The main could could use a little freshening Important: the Bathroom window on the 2nd floor looks directly out to neighborhood road. If you are sitting on the toilet—it is possible you could be seen sitting on the toilet — just fyi. I think the owner could place privacy tape on that window and I texted her about that today.
