With stunning ocean views, elegant style, and artistic elements, The Mermaid is truly unique. Nestled in Arch Cape, about 70 miles west of Portland, this tranquil getaway affords easy access to the beach along a nature trail. Once upon a time a live album (Arch Cape Sessions) was recorded in the living room, writers have holed up for weeks on end to focus on their craft, and families and artists have come to the Mermaid to refresh, relax, and reflect.

When the tide is out, wander North around various sandstone outcroppings to Hug Point, Arcadia Beach, even all the way to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Wander South around the Cape and you will find the Arches for which Arch Cape is named, and some exquisite tidepools. Fine dining and shopping are minutes away in Cannon Beach to the North, and Manzanita to the South.

The Mermaid sleeps 6, offers a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, large upper and lower decks, and a hot tub with an ocean view.

We loved the house, neighborhood and the access to the beach. The spiral staircase is beautiful but it's really narrow and tricky to navigate with luggage.

A lovely place to stay with a short walk to the beach. All the bedrooms are up a steep staircase, but we managed. It was cozy and well stocked.

This house was perfect for us! The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and both the upper and lower decks offered beautiful views. The hot tub was the perfect bonus and a wonderful way to relax after a day of exploring.

Such a cute house and a beautiful view of the ocean. Only tough part with my family of 5 was 1 shower of the 2 bathrooms. Overall a great place and would recommend to friends!

Our Cannon Beach escape was amazing! The house is in a great location, and was ideal. We didn’t realize that the staircase was so narrow and steep, so getting larger luggage upstairs was challenging. We couldn’t stay in the hot tub for very long, because of the high temperature. Other than that it was awesome!! Our hosts were very accommodating, and helped us out with checking in earlier than expected.

We loved our stay here! It ended up being rainy and this was the perfect setting to enjoy a rainy Oregon coast day. The view is great, the hot tub was excellent and the general decor and vibe was perfectly coastal. The path to the beach is super convenient too.

What a great place! Thoroughly enjoyed some nighttime hot tubbing with a sunset. Perfect accommodations. I’d recommend to anyone and would love to return one day with our kids!

Hot tub was fabulous and the kitchen certainly met all of our needs. This is a lovely home, we had one small hiccup upon arriving, but the homeowners were adamant to make things right, which they certainly did and was appreciated!

We had a lovely time! This little beach house was perfect. We loved the hot tub and beautiful view. Took a walk to the beach and enjoyed the sunny weather.

Everything was great! Rose was a gracious host and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice getaway, spiral staircase could be a challenge for older guests but kitchen is ready if you bring the food.Hope to visit again!

We enjoyed our stay at The Mermaid house! The location in Arch Cape was perfect, close to many beaches and trails, but away from the crowds. 10 minute easy walk to Arch Cape beach. So peaceful to look out at the ocean and watch the sun set from the deck. Lots of stars and an outdoor fire pit! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and everything was clean. There is a narrow spiral staircase to the bedrooms, but we kept our luggage downstairs.Our only issue was when we got to the house there was a strong smell that permeated everything. We aired out the house and then realized the garbage bag in the kitchen had a strong chemical perfume. After changing this, the smell was gone. We kept the sliding glass doors open often to let in the fresh ocean air. It would have been nice to have screens on the doors and windows to sleep with the windows open. After a bat flew in one evening (and luckily flew out again) we realized we needed to keep them closed at night!
