Modern Cottage on Edisto with deep water and views

Located on remote and idyllic Big Island, a part of greater Edisto Island, with a private dock on deepwater Sandy Creek. Access to island by a beautiful, mile-long private causeway shared by other homeowners on the island. Deer, a variety of birds and other wildlife are abundant. The southern exposure gives access to prevailing summer sea breezes and offers long views toward the South Edisto River and into the ACE Basin. Sunsets from the porch and dock are delightful.

The space
The home was thoughtfully and completely renovated in 2019 and 2020. The covered porch wraps around two sides of the residence, along with a covered entry porch facing the road.

Bright and airy, the cottage has an open floor plan with a spacious main living space and built-in banquette seating for dining adjacent to the kitchen. The residence was carefully furnished for comfort and a clean look.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including gas range, coffee maker and microwave.

There are 4 bedrooms total, with 2 full bathrooms and one half bath. Two of the bedrooms have one queen bed each. One bedroom has bunk beds (one double and one twin size). One bedroom has separate painted iron beds, one double size and one twin.

The dining table and built-in bench can accommodate 6-8 inside, and there is a dining table for 6-8 on the covered porch. There is also a game table with chairs inside to be used for inside puzzles and entertainment.

The porch has a built-in charcoal grill.

TVs with DirecTV satellite service are provided in the living room and Master Bedroom. We have Starlink satellite-based internet service, which is very fast, though still officially in the Beta stage. As such, service may be spotty at times, but our experience is that it is 10-15 times faster than the cell based service that we've had previously, and should get faster.

The outdoor shower is wonderful and available for showering year round. It also has a foot wash.

Enjoy the firepit area positioned along the marsh edge. We can arrange firewood delivery upon advance request and for an additional fee.

Because of the Owner's personal health reasons, we do not allow pets on the property.
