Golden, CO retreat at 9000 feet in the beautiful mountains. Close to fantastic hiking trails, CO skiing, fly fishing and small CO mountain towns. (Boulder, Golden, Nederland, Red Rocks, Rolesville, Estes Park, Rocky Mtn. Park ..). Basement studio walkout apartment with private parking & entrance, private fire pit patio, and hot tub. For the maximum mountain experience we recommend at least a stay of 2 nights. Boulder County Short Term Rental License, STR-22-0007. Certified wild fire mitigation by Wildfire Partners, a Boulder County independent organization.
The space
Beautiful private apartment with walkout access to patio, fire pit, parking and shared hot tub (no children under 12 in tub). Apartment is fully equipped with queen bed, HD DirecTV, full kitchen, dining area, bathroom with infinite hot water, and big couch in living room. Approximately 900 square feet of space.

Note: Kyla and John live upstairs in the main part of their beautiful log home and respect the privacy and quiet of their guests.

Guest access
Guests have private entrance to the apartment served by their private driveway and parking areas. For guests more than 5-6 days, we offer use of our washer and dryer.

We welcome our guests with a stocked kitchen of basics including a bottle of wine ( more than two nights), few beers and sodas, cheese and crackers, bagels and eggs, pasta, coffee, tea, s-mores, etc. so they can relax and not have to make an immediate trip to the grocery store.

The hosts offered nice touches to welcome us and offered many details about the local area. We loved the cleanliness along with the thoughtful amenities. The outdoor private entrance and sitting area offered a tranquil and beautiful place to relax. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay here while we visited Colorado. The best part was sitting outside in the morning drinking coffee (from coal creek coffee, just 6 minutes away) and watching all the birds, chipmunks, and squirrels run around. We did a rental car and were given a Honda civic instead of a small SUV, I did try to call the host on the way to ensure the car would be able to get up the mountain and their driveway but I never heard back. Thankfully the civic made it up and there was no problem. When we compared the number listed on here compared to what is given on the check in sheet, they are different numbers.

Great apartment located in a beautiful setting! John was wonderful at communicating with me about everything. Answering all my questions before we arrived. I would highly recommend staying here. Super convenient location to Boulder, Denver and Red Rocks.

Staying here was like staying in my uncle's basement that he finished himself. it's ok, decorated a little mix matched, and comes with LOTS of rules. There was a list of rules taped to the door when we arrived, a binder of rules on the table, and rules printed out and taped all around the unit. Kyla greeted us from the balcony, and made sure I knew how to operate the hot tub cover. The overall result was a less than relaxing stay,

Great place!

Fantastic place for an overnight stay. Roomy, quiet, and all of amenities of home. Will definitely stay again!

I needed a place for a night, and I'm really happy I chose to stay here. The place was very welcoming, with a comfy bed, snacks and drinks.The area outside is beautiful, with a forested area, and I was lucky to be greeted by the resident fox (we kept a respectful distance from each other)

Don't be fooled by the Golden address, you're way above the town in the mountains, where in the summer it's about 10-15 degrees cooler than in town. It's remote, quiet and delightful. The hosts did some really nice extra things. They stocked the fridge with a few groceries and drinks as well as kitchenware. (Note: No dishwasher.) They supplied extra coats, sweaters and trekking poles, and even outdoor blankets for cold weather. They gave lots of handy tips about where to go and how to get places in addition to step-by-step instructions for using the hot tub, fire pit and gas grill. The hot tub was something we used every evening after hiking/sightseeing. Great feature! They even supplied separate towels for it, in addition to the nice bathroom towels. Sadly, we didn't get to see the resident moose, but a red fox trotted right up to us as we ate breakfast outside, as tame as a pet dog. Hummingbirds are noisy in the day and do aerial dives like fighter pilots. Chipmunks and squirrels hop right up to you too. The bed was very big and comfortable, as was the living room furniture. Enough warm blankets, you could practically sleep outside in December! Also, everything we wanted to do was about 1/2 hour away, including hiking trails and sightseeing in Boulder, Golden, Nederland and Red Rocks. We didn't have to spend all day driving even though we were in a remote location. This was one of our favorite places we've stayed. We highly recommend it.

Super cute & extremely well thought out. Beautiful location. I wasn't feeling well here & didn't get to enjoy much other than the bed but if I had been able to take advantage of everything offered & suggested I'm confident it would've been that much better. They've really thought of everything here & made the stay as easy as possible.

Lovely, very clean. Owners thought of many nice little touches. We saw a red fox and plenty of adorable chipmunks and birds. Hot tub was nice and hot with scenic view. Comfy bed and well-stocked kitchen!
