Unique Home on Back River w/ Stunning Sunsets, Private Dock by Tybee Cottages

Host your family of 10 in one of Tybee Island's best beach houses on Tybee's Back River, including a private dock. Enter the home on the second floor and into the bright, sunny living area. With French doors that open to the wrap-around porch, guests will enjoy lounging with a Summer breeze after a long day at the beach.

The kitchen is fully equipped and perfect for entertaining; guests can enjoy a cocktail at the island counter while you prep snacks for the beach. Everything you need to prepare a full meal includes an electric range and stove, a full fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, and ample storage space. A half bath is just beneath the stairs.

Upstairs, you'll find three bedrooms and an additional semi-private lofted bedroom. The first bedroom has a King-size bed with an en suite bath, a tub, and a separate shower. The second and third bedrooms (first with King, second with Full, and Twin Bunk with Twin Trundle) share a jack and jill bath with a double vanity and standing shower. On the third level, an open loft space offers a Queen bed with a Twin trundle. The loft has a private balcony overlooking Tybee Creek.

A full bath (with a separate shower) and an outdoor kitchenette are available on the ground floor. Guests are welcome to use any water sports equipment in the garage. While situated on Tybee Creek, guests are only a short ride away from local beach access.

Great for a large family vacation. Very Clean. Plenty of room and great fishing. House is in the quiet slower part of the island. Learned a few things about the history of the house hidden in the photo albums. And also some knowledge on T S Chu. So many home decorations that everyday I found something I hadn’t seen the day before.

House and view to back river was amazing. We watched dolphins in the river every day from back porch and the dock. Beautiful view of the Sunset. On listing on VRBO It reads 2 minute walk to beach. Keep in mind that walk is to part of beach that is not main beach where we spent all our time. House is a mile from main beach. Easy drive to main beach but we chose NOT to walk. There were 7 ladies/7days in their fifties we had a wonder stay. Exceptions/issues we had were: toilet paper, trash bags, kitchen towels, no beach items to use like was listed in VRBO listing. We had to call two days in a row to get trash bags. There were no extra trash bags at all when we arrived. They did bring us more toilet paper and kitchen towels when requested. If one of us ladies hadn’t brought toilet paper we would not have had enough. One of the bedroom and baths, laundry are in the basement which one of our ladies stayed in. The bug situation was not the best down there. Maybe more spraying for bugs is needed. We had a visitor down there (basement) when one of us ladies was exiting the shower. Yes it was me. I about had a heart attach. I am scared to death of Snakes and it was climbing the wall in door way of shower. We called the host and they sent a very nice maintenance man to come remove the snake. Hind site this is probably a very common issue in the area of the world we were in but not fun to experience the unwanted visitor.

Beautiful sunsets

Beautiful views from the back porch and dock. Super comfortable house, nicely decorated and furnished (though a bit light on essentials in the kitchen). Very comfortable - we had a great stay - will be back for sure.

Great Sibling trip

We had the best time during our stay! The house was so charming! We loved the back dock area where the dolphins came by daily. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The communication with the managers of this house was wonderful. The location was excellent close to restaurants and the beach. We loved the laid back vibe. We will be back next year.

AMAZING back river home

Our family of 7 came for a week after baseball in Atlanta. Tybee is so great! Cute town. We loved the house...interesting history, beautiful decor, lots of space. Our boys fished daily and had great success! They caught flounder daily and I cooked it up! The girls took the golf cart we rented to the beach and got coffee (Sand Cat and Tybean) It was the best stay!!!!

The property is lovely with a great view of the river from the porch, even better on the dock. The only things we really needed was a working ice maker or ice trays in the freezer and blankets. There was only one blanket in the entire house that I could find. The room configuration is a little misleading, one of the bedrooms is on the bottom level, it is very dark and musty down there and I am not sure I would enjoy staying in the lowest level. There was also a sleeping area upstairs, but it is an "open" space and could be used as additional place to sleep or another common area for kids to hang out in. Overall, I would highly recommend the house, we loved staying there even if it was just the two of us. The house is a historical gem and the owners are so kind. I would love to come visit the area again.

Awesome location, great family home

Lovely decorated beach home that was just what my family needed. Lots of fishing opportunities to fish on the private dock. Super quick drive to the beach, or a nice leisurely walk if weather permits. Great location and neighborhood! Super communication from home management. We all loved our stay.

Tybee Island Vacation

The dock and the pavilion were a big hit as most of our time was spent there. We were without internet and tv the entire stay although the cable company set up repair dates and for some reason or another never came. T

Memories to last a Lifetime!

We rented this house to celebrate our dad’s 70th birthday and it did not disappoint!!!! The house has an open concept which allowed our for great conversation and space to play games on a rainy day. We spent most of our time, though, on the pier fishing and watching the dolphins who visited!!!! Sunsets were beautiful. You can’t go wrong with Beach Music! Our family created memories that will last a lifetime.

Perfect - we were planning our next stay here the first night!

Our party consisted of my husband and me, my daughter and her husband and 3 & 6 year old sons, another adult daughter and a teenage granddaughter. We all loved it. The home is beautifully decorated with Blue Willow china accents throughout. My husband even commented on how well it's decorated. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. There are wrap-around porches with rocking chairs and a porch swing - which I don't recall being mentioned in the on-line summary. The dock is the crown jewel! Besides the sunset, you'll enjoy dolphin watching and fishing. Couldn't have been better!

Beautiful sunsets

There were 5 of us, myself and my 2 sisters and their husbands. The first thing you saw when you walked in was the beautiful back river water and dock. You could see this whenever in kitchen, dining room and living room. The rooms were all adequate and comfortable. We spent a lot of time sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch enjoying the water. We loved the dock, part of which is covered and had couches and rocking chairs. One of my sisters and I spent a lot of time reading there. We rented a golf cart which made it easy to get Tybee and not have to worry about parking. We grew up on Tybee in the 50's and 60's. We have been coming back for vacations quite frequently for the last 15 years. We will definitely be back.

Just One Little Problem

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is exquisite. So much history and filled with interesting decor. However, quite a few small things need to be fixed. The outside doorknob to the screened in porch is falling off, many light bulbs are burned out (especially on the dock) and the ice maker doesn’t work. Cleanliness wasn’t great (dirty toilet in the half bath, whiskers on the window sill in the front bath). But, the flies! We estimated that we killed over 200. It was so bad that we ordered an electronic bug zapper from Amazon. We didn’t use the upstairs because every skylight and door consistently had 10-20 flies. Despite all that, we made some great memories and were glad we found this beautiful home at the last minute.

Only thing you could do better is the basement was not cleaned. Lots of junk and some trash in the garage area under the house empty beer bottles and just clutter.The inside of the house was clean. Its a great spot but I could see if you had some picky guests they might complain. We loved it and will be back. We have visited Tybee for the last 18 years sometimes twice a year and stayed in a lot of homes. This was one of our favorites. Rental company was great also.

Great Stay on the Back River

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great visit to the Back River on Tybee! Beach Music had everything you would need for a great stay on Tybee Island. Best of all it had a dock on deep water on the Back River. We had such a great time hanging out on the dock, swimming and enjoying the nice breeze on the river.
