Beautiful Canal Home with Private Dock, Close to the Beach.

The Salt Box, located at 116 Sanford St., is a great family friendly retreat perfect for relaxing and enjoying the 7 mile island of Holden Beach. Our home is about 800 Ft. from the boardwalk to the beach making it an easy walk. Sidewalks run along the island for plenty of walking, jogging or biking. Our home is located directly on a canal with our own private dock which is great for fishing, boating, or kayaking. It is just a short walk to the beach access where you can pop up your umbrella and enjoy the beauty and quiet of the sand and surf.

Our home has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Each bedroom has a TV and we also provide WiFi access.There are decks, a screened porch with rockers, and a hammock for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Large windows give you a great view of the water. We have both outdoor and indoor dining areas as well as a grill and well equipped kitchen. The Salt Box has 2 wonderful enclosed outdoor showers which make clean up after a day on the beach a breeze!

Slip away to our home and enjoy a beach ranked in the Top 10 Best Family Beaches by National Geographic Traveler magazine. Escape the crowds and commercialism and enjoy this well kept secret all while conveniently located near plenty of golf, shopping, and dining. Enjoy the break you deserve!

The house was clean and well kept. The beach was just a short walk away. The area is super quiet. Lots of great shells to find on the beach. The best restaurants are about 40 minutes away in Southport. Beds are comfortable and we had plenty of hot water for showers.

My family and I had an amazing time. Beautiful home with lots of space for everyone. Awesome views and had everything that my family and I needed to have a wonderful week. Mary was awesome and so great at communicating with us and if we needed anything. Definitely look forward to coming back next year!!

Very nice place. Close walk to public beach access. There is a local market that is a short walk just past the pier.

The host is a quick communicator and was always very kind which is great! The house was great too, probably one of our favorite stays on Holden so far. There were lots of games in the TV console, beach items in the downstairs room, table large enough for all 8 of us to eat meals, two nice patios, a very relaxing hammock, and a great dock for fishing and crabbing. The kitchen was also well stocked with lots of seasonings, pots/pans, and various kitchen items such as a lemon squeezer or a microplane grater. You do have to bring your own towels for the bathroom and make your bed on arrival, but no big deal for such a great price! Beds were comfy as well. Last but not least- beach access was not very far either. It was just over a block after you get to the Main Street so probably around 2 blocks total. I definitely recommend staying here!

Great place

Everything was just as described. Very well equipped kitchen. House was clean, comfortable and just an overall relaxing place. Would absolutely stay again.

Nice accommodations

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Saltbox. Short walk to the beach. Games, beach toys - felt like home. Kitchen was well stocked. We would go back.

A hidden gem

We absolutely loved this place for our family week at the beach! The layout is wonderful and we had tons of room. The dock was great for fishing on the canal. The walk to the beach was an easy one. We will definitely be back soon!

Great house!

The pictures online are outdated! Recent updates made it a wonderful surprise when we walked in. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes. Canal access was great for kayaking. Quiet street. Would definitely stay again!

Family Fun!!

House and amenities were great. Well supplied with cook ware, flat ware, and plenty of dishes. We did miss the note about no bath towels be sure to take your own. It is a short walk to the beach but if you're carrying your umbrellas and towels and chairs you may want to consider driving if you do drive no that you will have to pay to park it's 20 per day or 80 per week. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked for next year.

Housekeeping do better!!

We had a good time, it’s the Beach!! The house is as described the number of beds/bedrooms & bathrooms worked very well for our family. The kitchen is well stocked with spices also. There was plenty of cleaning supplies, its nice that they are left and not removed, The kids had a great time kayaking and fishing from the dock. Easy walk to the beach which is were we hung out most of the time. Great shelling!! The bedding is not in the best condition, we were charged $100 for blankets that were stained by previous guest. The housekeepers could do better.

Perfect location for boaters!

We stayed here for the 4th of July and we enjoyed this house so much that we secured it for next 4th of July before we left. Check in was easy. I had a few questions when we first arrived and response time was quick from the homeowner. We had 2 boats and 2 kayaks and they all fit. We just secured the boats beside one another without blocking the canal for other boaters. Location was perfect! Public beach access was almost right off this street. Waterway was quick and easy to get to. Not far from the bridge which was wonderful when driving the car or out boating. House was clean. Beds were comfy. AC was cold! House was well stocked. We can’t wait to return next year!

The New Saltbox

Wow! We were amazed at all of the updates done to this house. The pictures were definitely outdated. Very spacious. Plenty of room. I loved the screened porch and dock. Everything we needed in the house was supplied. I did brake my hand when I tripped on the dock our last night. No one’s fault. At least it was the end of our vacation.

Best Atlantic Beach Rental

Thoroughly enjoyable. Very comfortable home. Our extended family of ten had plenty of room. Kitchen is well equipped and supplied. Screened in porch overlooks the waterway. The web site photos are a bit out of date insofar as there has been evident painting and other well done improvements made to modernize and harmonize the overall appearance. The owners investments in the home such as large deluxe washer and dryer, twin beach showers, and plentiful beach furniture for outdoor seating make for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended. My wife and I feel it’s the Best Atlantic Beach rental we’ve experienced in three decades of vacationing.

Over the property is as described. This was our 2 stay and we have booked for next year. The only negative is there is no parking in All of Holden Beach that is free you must pay to park everywhere. The parking at the house is not pay to park.

Great for boaters

Great for boaters, it was very nice not having to trailer boats everyday. House is a bit dated and in need of some maintenance, but overall, clean and accommodating for a everyone. The only downfall was towels are not provided, even though linens are provided on listing, so pack your towels!!!

Beach trip

Very nice property, we enjoyed our stay. It does seem to flood more in front of house more than other parts of street, and little bit longer of walk to beach access, but otherwise super nice home and we enjoyed our stay!

Great for family memories

Owner was great to communicate with. Ample room for a family of four. Short walk to the beach and multiple seafood markets within a short drive. Our kids caught their first fish off the dock so bring some fishing gear or head to to the tackle store next to Food Lion.

We are a retired couple from High Point, NC. We thought a photo of some of our grandchildren enjoying Holden Beach might be more interesting than a photo of us! We have had so many wonderful times at Holden and know that you will too. We enjoy fishing, boating, walking on the beach and golfing at the many nearby courses.

After years of vacationing at Holden Beach, we decided to purchase The Salt Box. We have enjoyed many wonderful days with our children and grandchildren at this beach. We love the relaxed atmosphere and sneak away to the beach every chance we get!

Our home offers direct access to the canals leading to the ICW with your own private dock. The dock is also great for swimming, fishing and boating. We are just a short walk to the beach too. The living space is very open so you can enjoy meals and leisure time inside as well. We have lots amenities to make your stay a pleasure! You can head to the beach, jump on a boat or choose from one of several outdoor decks to relax.
