When you want to get away from the hustle of city living here is a new and very affordable Country Carriage House. Otter Lane is a warm and relaxing 450 square foot sanctuary located only one hour from downtown Vancouver. It boasts a fully contained bachelor suite above a detached garage situated on ten beautiful acres in South Langley. The farm consists of a year round pond, horse, chickens, and dog, plus resident barn owls and great horned owl. Construction on the Owner designed and built Carriage House was completed in September of 2011 and offers on-site parking, full internet access and plenty of privacy. This suite is fully equipped and tastefully furnished for comfort.
Conveniently located 15 minutes from the Trans Canada Highway (HWY #1), 5 minutes from the Aldergrove border crossing to the USA, 45 minutes from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, 15 minutes from Abbotsford Airport (YXX), 50 minutes from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) , 15 minutes from Thunderbird Horse Show Park and about a 25 minute drive along quiet country roads to the Historic Village of Fort Langley.
Whether it is for business or pleasure, horse show or convention, weekend get-a-way or extended stay, our conveniently located coach house allows for quick and easy trips to your destination. Langley is considered the horse capital of British Columbia, but it also boasts fantastic golf courses, wineries, hiking trails, restaurants, shopping and the Vancouver Zoo.

Amazing property in a beautiful country setting. Great communication from hosts. The carriage house has everything you need and is very cozy. We stayed for two weeks. Internet was great for remote working. We loved our stay and highly recommend this property!

We had a wonderful time in this delightful and charming carriage house. This studio is well thought out and well equipped for making it feel like a home away from home. It has a peaceful beautiful atmosphere both in the space and outside. We wished we had planned to stay an extra day. Caroline was very clear and prompt with the communication and we appreciated the accommodation of being able to check in early. I would definitely recommend to anyone that this is a wonderful place to stay.

Very nice, cozy space, well appointed, in a natural, farm- setting, beautiful location. Felt a little like being in a tree house. This carriage home is located immediately across from owners home.

Very comfortable for a peaceful stay.
Hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. Unit well equiped, with everything needed .

Thanksgiving
Lovely place to stay for thanksgiving weekend.
Property was in a lovely location and the accommodations were all we could ask for. The hosts had supplied their suite over and above what one could expect. Would definitely look forward to staying there again.

Fabulous stay
The suite is very well equipt with everything in good shape.
It was cosy over the holidays with a gas fireplace.
Excellent access to shops and restaurants.
A lovely rural retreat.

Temporary work in local area
Could not have hoped for a better place to stay a few weeks. Peaceful country setting with only the frogs, birds or horse to break the complete silence but less than :10 to town. Prepare to want to move here after your stay!

We loved the property. There is also an outside deck to enjoy. The hosts were lovely and hospitable. Everything was very clean, which I always appreciate! Because perhaps we are in our 70s, the bed mattress was too soft for us, but for others that might be The perfect thing. :-) Thank you to Caroline and Larry for a lovely stay. Much appreciated and stay well. :-)

We have lived in Langley all of our lives and moved to this property in 1997. It proved to be a wonderful place to raise our family and we continue to enjoy the quite serenity of the neighbourhood. My Husband and I both work in the construction industry so designing and building a carriage house was right up our alley. We have enjoyed Vacation Rentals and loved meeting people from across this continent as well as Europe.

We love the diversity of a hobby farm. The large Maple tree as well as the many cedar trees add to the calming serenity of the location ... and of course the year round pond. We love to watch the many birds that use our piece of Langley as their sanctuary.
