Relax, Hodgkins' House, near Acadia, Bar Harbor with ocean views of Eastern Bay.

Hodgkins' House is located on beautiful Frenchman Bay overlooking the mountains of Acadia. A 25 minute drive could have you on a whale watch boat, golf at Kebo, or on your way up Cadillac Mountain to be the first to see the sun rise. Ten minutes to go cart rides, water park, mini golf, movies and Bird's Acre. For the shopper in every family there is an LL Bean outlet,Reny's Marden's Atlantic Art Glass and lots of little antique shops and home made ice cream places. Relax on the lush lawns with a game of badminton, croquet or make s'mores over your firepit as the sun sets on the bay. Families can have quality time together or have the space to spread out and enjoy alone time. Play games on the screened in sun porch or relax on the day bed with a good read. This home is within 5 minutes of 3 beaches, Lamoine State Park and Lamoine Beach and fresh water Blunt's Pond. Air Conditioned in the living room.

Hodgkins' House is left in great condition. All lawn toys and games, keys and garage remotes are picked up and stored where you found them.

Beautiful home!

Hodgkins House is beautiful! If you want a “home away from home,” convenient to everything including a fabulous beach 4 min away, then this is the house for you. The patio, lawn and view are perfect for relaxing outside. Inside you will find the most well-stocked house you can imagine. Everything anyone could want is here - every kitchen gadget, lots of plates, silverware and glasses, spices, many nice fluffy towels in the well stocked bathrooms, very comfy living room furniture and a beautiful screen porch where you can sit and look out at the gorgeous backyard, water and hills in the distance. And the owners, Lucy and Paul, are so responsive. The perfect home for relaxing or for exploring the area.

Comfortable, welcoming retreat

Our family of five enjoyed our stay--the launchpad to day trips spent hiking in the park (and beyond--including Tunk Mountain and Schoodic Point) and paddle boarding at Blunt Pond (5 minute drive). House is spacious and the firepit is EVERYTHING. Was also really nice to be close to Elsworth for many convenient dining options!

Everything You Could Possibly Want

My family (including my children: ages 5 and 7) had a wonderful stay here, and I highly recommend the property! It will be our go-to spot for any future vacations to Maine. The spot is gorgeous and there is plenty of privacy. One of my favorite things was my morning coffee with a book in the sunroom looking out at the water through the greenery. The kitchen has every tool and item you could possibly want - more than most home kitchens. Take a look before you plan meals for the week because it expands what you can do. It’s convenient to the grocery and some restaurants and activities, and not too far from Bar Harbor and Acadia. It’s also close to the beach, which my kids loved (you could walk it but we preferred the very quick drive). We loved having the separate room for the kids to play, and it was lovely that there was a packed beach bag with chairs. Other things I didn’t even realize I wanted were thoughtfully there for our use. This was our perfect home base!

Great house!

Property and owners were awesome. House was clean and well stocked. Owners were very responsive to questions. Great location, as well. Close enough to a town and to Bar Harbor and Acadia, but off the beaten path, which was perfect.

Relaxing Getaway

My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed at the house; it seemed like every detail was addressed. Lots to do nearby or only a short drive away. Highly recommend!

First time in Maine

Our stay was wonderful! The best part besides the view was that Lucy had essentials there like vegetable oil, and Italian seasoning. I know this seems silly but it’s so frustrating to have to buy additional things just to use them for a week and then find a way to transport it back. Another thing was the beds were very comfortable. Lucy was very responsive to any question I had. We had a great time!

Maine Memories

My family of four including two teenagers spent a wonderful week at the lovely Hodgkin’s House. This was the perfect place to return to after our adventures exploring Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The house is beautifully decorated, has a well stocked kitchen for home cooked meals and has stunning views from the living room, sun porch and spacious backyard. There are many restaurants and shops nearby to pick up groceries or anything else that you may need. The hosts were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. We would love to return again in the future!

Beautiful Home in Perfect Location

This home was everything my husband and I had hoped for when planning our 20th anniversary. The amenities were fabulous, with a kitchen that had more than just the basics-a treasure for sure! The outdoor space was plentiful and extremely well maintained with gorgeous gardens, a hammock, an outdoor cooking area, and the VIEW!! Stunning. The house itself was so well thought out, from the kitchen, to the wall of windows in the living room and dining room, to the adorable telephone lamps! The location was everything! Easy access to the main part of Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and more. Last and certainly not least, Lucy and Paul were amazing hosts. From early communication with Lucy, to Paul greeting us and giving us a quick tour of the property, to the sweetest anniversary touch. Thank you for such an amazing experience. We cannot wait to return!

Beautiful Home and perfect location

We loved our week long stay at this beautiful home. We truly were comfortable and relaxed, as if staying at the home of a family member. The house is a perfect base to explore Acadia, Bar Harbor, Camden and more. The kitchen has every possible utensil and cookware to prepare a meal, to be enjoyed seated at the dining table with a view of the Bay.

Perfect location

We enjoyed our stay for one week at the end of August to the beginning of September. The weather was perfect. I never got tired of the view! It had everything that we wanted. The house was roomy, the view is spectacular, the location was peaceful and quiet, it had a fireplace and a fabulous outside grill. We couldn’t have asked for more. Lucy and Paul or fantastic hosts. We hope to come back year after year, but stay longer than one week.

Just like many reviews mention… wish we’d stayed longer! Too bad that there are so many outstanding places to visit and explore in the area! Hodgkins’ House was always a welcome respite after long days of hiking, shopping, kayaking and feasting on seafood (and ice cream)! Easy communication with owners, well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms, spacious indoor/outdoor areas - the view is for real!

Quiet Maine Getaway

The Hodgkins’ House is a welcoming and well-maintained home. The beautiful views and outdoor patio were perfect for reading and relaxing outside, while the bedrooms were all well proportioned and had ceiling fans for warm summer nights. We enjoyed our stay and you will too.

Beautiful property near Acadia

We had a wonderful time and the hosts were great!! The property was so clean and had everything we could imagine needing for a week's stay in Maine. We cooked lobsters and they had a wonderful outdoor kitchen and everything we needed for that as well. I plan on going back again with my grandkids. Highly recommend!

Amazing vista!

Our family of 6 had an amazing, comfortable and inspired visit to Hodgkins House. The view from the backyard is gorgeous and we all enjoyed the expansive yard for many games of croquet and frisbee! The house was very clean and extremely well-stocked! We enjoyed home cooked meals from the lovely kitchen and outdoor grilling station. Our evenings often ended with a cozy fire pit. Lucy was very responsive to questions. We would rent again! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Hodgkins' House

The Hodgkins' House was the perfect getaway for our family! The house was well stocked, and our children thoroughly enjoyed the playroom and outdoor toys. The views were breathtaking, and the sunroom provided a peaceful oasis for morning coffee. The fire pit was perfect for nighttime smores. We were close enough to Acadia that we made daily visits, but were far enough away that we felt like we had a quiet and relaxing spot to come back to. Lucy and Paul were wonderful hosts, and you can tell how much they love their home through how well they have cared for it. Thank you again Paul and Lucy!

Perfect spot

My family had a wonderful vacation and this was perfect spot to explore Acadia. We also enjoyed seeing seals at the beach on Lamoine State Park. The view can’t be beat!

Very Relaxing Stay

We loved our stay at the Hodgkins' house in Lamoine, the house, yard, location and area helped us really relax. The house and kitchen are well appointed for a family to enjoy their stay. The location is close enough to get to Bar Harbor and Schoodic peninsula and enjoy them yet far enough away to be away from the crowds also, for a true get away.

Paul & I inherited this beautiful home a few of years ago. We completely renovated the kitchen with granite countertops and added many touches to make it a cooks kitchen. About nine years ago we purchased my Aunt and Uncle's Pine Cone Cabin, next to ours on Green Lake, and began our seasonal rental business. We worked like beavers tearing it down to the outside walls and rebuilding it. I than had the fun of decorating it with things from the LL Bean outlet in Ellsworth. We have been so blessed with having wonderful renters .that we decided to rent Hodgkin's House as a weekly or monthly summer rental. Our reviews, will give you a good idea if Hodgkins’ House or Pine Cone Cabin are your vacation destination.
