Peacefully nestled on the banks of the Vermilion River, Bayou Rose awaits your visit to the beautiful historical district of Abbeville. Our private adult only cottage is located in the heart of Cajun Country with our many festivals and seafood restaurants. A tranquil,serene atmosphere where one can watch the ducks and barges as they make their way down the river.Listening to the comforting sounds of birds singing or the church bells ringing from up river as you sip your morning coffee on the porch or private wharf overlooking the river.

Full amenities include aromatherapy soaps, a complimentary basket with a variety of continental breakfast items for duration of your stay, coffee, milk, juice and water is also complimentary. And let's not forget a complimentary serving of Cajun BOUDIN! Cook up your own Cajun breakfast in your fully stocked kitchen with access to a BBQ grill overlooking the Vermilion River.

Our one bedroom private cottage has a queen size bed in bedroom and queen sleeper sofa in living room. Full size tub and shower complete with washer and dryer. Detergent is complimentary. Living room and kitchen area has floor to ceiling views of the Vermilion River. Central air and heat, ceiling fans throughout makes our cottage comfortable year round.

We are 15 minutes from Lafayette, 90 minutes from Baton Rouge, 2 1/2 hours from New Orleans making day trips easy. Come and enjoy the many fine restaurants in our quaint little town and the many festivals that are never ending.

Arrive by vehicle, plane or boat. Good times on the bayou await you at Bayou Rose. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Beautiful and Cozy Cottage

We loved our stay here. It was incredibly cozy and has such a beautiful view of the river. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a homey and relaxing place to stay in the area.

Beautiful cozy spot on the Bayou!

We enjoyed our stay and Anne and Mike were so responsive and kind. The house was clean and well stocked, the owners make it to where you don’t need to bring anything! Very relaxing spot to get away to. Highly recommend!!

Cozy cottage

The cottage is just precious and perfect for a get away from everyday life! The highlight for us was the porch which faces the Vermilion River, the perfect place to sit peacefully and enjoy the local wildlife. We also really enjoyed meeting the owners!

Perfect place for our Anniversary getaway!

Mrs. Anne is very hospitable and accommodating. The property is very peaceful and serene; ideal for relaxing but close enough to attractions and places of interest. The Bayou Rose cottage is a hidden gem worth staying at again.

Fantastic Getaway

This is our fourth trip to this fabulous cottage. The hosts are great about giving ideas of what to do and great places to dine. But, just sitting on the back porch gazing at the bayou is super relaxing and gives a person a chance to chill and rewind.

A pretty cottage on the banks of the vermillion

Beautifully decorated cottag with a local cajun flair. Anne the hostess was very friendly and responsive. It was our second visit there and if we return to the area we will stay there again.

Right on the river

We are returning customers of the Bayou Rose. We have family in the area and love staying here. Anne and Mike are wonderful hosts! The location is perfect near Abbeville, restaurants and our family in Kaplan.

Reunion with old friends

I had a wonderful time catching up with former workmates. The accommodations and hosts were fantastic. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the bayou country of South Louisiana.

Fabulous Place

This is our third visit to the Bayou Rose as it is in a wonderful location with fabulous hosts. We felt totally immersed into the Cajun way of life. The cottage is as cute as it can be and the porch a wonderful place to watch wildlife and relax

Authentic Louisiana Hospitality

What a beautiful little spot on the bayou! We really enjoyed our time at Bayou Rose and would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Louisiana getaway. And Anne was such a welcoming and gracious host! We are so lucky that this was available on the dates we needed! Merci, Anne & Mike!

Absolutely Divine

Ann and Mike are top notch hosts. The little house is great. We will definitely be back when its cooler. That way we can sit outside on porch and enjoy the view. You will not regret staying here.

Cajun Paradise!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bayou Rose! Anne is an exceptional hostess with so much attention to detail and extra special touches that make you feel so welcomed. The cottage is very peaceful and serene that sits on a beautiful property overlooking the Vermillion River. The cottage was very clean, and Anne provided numerous complimentary items to make the stay so easy. The boudin and pork rinds were a big hit! There are several local restaurants nearby, we highly recommend Dupuy's, that offer the true Cajun fare. Can't wait to make a return trip and visit with Anne again!

Ahhhhmazing!!!

It was great to have a sweet little place to rest and relax. We also toured Jefferson and Avery Island, went on a swamp tour, and ate great food. All of this at the recommendations of Anne and Mike. They treated us to delicious snacks as well. They go above and beyond as hosts!❤️

Home away from home

Anne and Michael were amazing hosts, who made sure we had everything we needed. They were right next door to us and made it clear to contact them if we needed ANYTHING! Anne was also like a second mother to us young adults who made sure we were safe when we were exploring Louisiana and even before our vacation started and once we were on our way home as well!

It was amazing. My husband and I have been traveling to different states to learn more about the real American cultures, history, and lifestyle. The little rosé cottage is the best so far. The owners Mrs. Ann and Mr Mike are supper nice. They were always willing to give us information on what to eat, things to do in Abbeville plus if the town was hosting any events they let us know. The cottage was extremely clean.

Finding myself

My experience was lovely, the place felt like home. I received fresh cinnamon bread, and pecan tarts. There is nothing like Cajun Country. This plave was very unique and inviting. Loved it. 😍

Hidden Gem

The Bayou Rose is a beautiful, relaxing cottage with perfect river views. Anne and Mike are great hosts. Their love of Cajun Country is evident throughout the cottage. Staying in this cottage was a wonderful part of a long homecoming weekend. I enjoyed sitting on the porch rocking, bird watching, and seeing the river flow by. Thank you so much for sharing your little bit of Heaven with others! I have already told several people about this hidden gem.

1st stay at Bayou Rose

This cozy cottage is a true jewel of Abbeveille. For years we have traveled from Texas to Louisiana and stayed in Abbeville. The drive is stressful and, in the past, the trips have not been relaxing. Then we stumbled upon this little jem. This was the most stress-reducing trip we have every had...all because of our host, Anne, and Bayou Rose. From the comfy and cozy feel, to the squirrels, tugboats, and the friendliness of Anne and so much more...it was wonderful. We had everything we needed in the Bayou Rose. Can't wait to stay again.

Delightful

We have stayed at a number of B&B's, but this is the first with boudin for a light breakfast - and very good boudin! The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. A full size kitchen and living room area, large bathroom with washer and dryer, bedroom with large closet and very comfortable bed. An attached covered porch and a private large deck/dock on the Vermillion River gave a pleasant place to relax. Anne and Mike added the perfect personal touch, making us feel very welcome. They are also very knowledgeable about the area attractions. Our only regret is that three nights was too short a stay.

A perfect getaway!

Overlooking the Vermillion River with tugboats and barges passing, the Bayou Rose is a delightful cottage to enjoy whether rocking on the deck or touring the Cajun area. Well equipped with kitchen items or history/travel books, visitors can be very comfortable learning more about Abbeville, nearby towns and the people who have lived here for generations. Anne and Mike, the hosts are knowledgeable about places to see or restaurants to enjoy. Whether you wish to play golf, tour historic houses or gardens, they will graciously assist you. Driving the Cajun/Creole Trail with occasional stops for walks was an afternoon we would have otherwise missed without their suggestion. As we wend our way back to snowy Maine, we will savor their friendship, enthusiasm and breakfast treats.

Abbeville Cajun Comfort

The Bayou Rose Cottage, with all it's contents and surroundings are a true testament to the beautiful, unique culture of the people of South Louisiana....the Cajuns. Anne & and Mike are fine examples of what the heart of being a Cajun embodies. From seeing Whooping Cranes near the White Lake Wetlands Conservation Area to the most delicious crabcakes at Dupuy's, all the way to spending time sharing memories of snakes, gators and the Governor with Mike, our stay in the Bayou Rose Cottage on the bank of the Vermillion River has been a very joyful adventure! This is really someplace special and we were very blessed to meet Anne & Mike. They gave us so many tips on places to go and things to do. We really enjoyed our adventures in the Abbeville area. The accommodations were perfect and we want to return!

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I chose Bayou Rose to spend our 25th wedding anniversary and we are so glad that we did. The cottage is clean, comfy, cozy and has everything you will need. There are picturesque views of the outside from the large rear windows of the living area and deck. The yard is beautifully landscaped with the bayou as a backdrop...so peaceful. Abbeville is a nice little town to explore and other places of interest are within just a short drive. Anne suggested we dine at the Jefferson Café on Jefferson Island under the huge oaks. It was so enjoyable with great food and amazing views of Lake Peigneur. My husband really enjoyed the golf course, Abbeville Country Club, which is reasonably priced, well-maintained and open to the public. Anne and Mike are excellent hosts and will make you feel right at home. We definitely want to stay at the Bayou Rose again and see more of Acadiana.
