Beautiful Cozy, ultra-convenient Salem home is close and within walking distance to all tourist sites and entertainment in Salem, MA...You can walk to to all the Salem historic sites as well as all the restaurants and entertainment destinations...The house is also in walking distance or a 2-minute Uber ride to Salem Train Station if you feel like heading 20 minutes South to Boston or 20 minutes North to the Beach areas of Gloucester or Newburyport and Rockport ......The house is very quaint and cozy and provides a tranquil environment while visiting the area....The house has 4 Bedroom areas and provides plenty of comfortable sleeping areas if traveling with family......When the weather is nice you can also relax in the beautiful backyard and deck area.....The house also has a full laundry area....The house is the perfect oasis when traveling with friends or family..!!

Nice Stay

This was a nice little house, which appeared larger in size upon arrival. I enjoyed the comfortable bed and the ability to cook incomparison to a hotel room.

Great location and space.

Nice private and quiet location with plenty of sleeping spaces and locations to be together. Short distance to down town and the commuter train.

Weekend Retreat

Had a lovely stay for an extended weekend in Salem. My friend and I were on a writing retreat and had plenty of space to spread out and work and comfortable shared spaces to socialize.

Excellent

We enjoyed our stay very much! The location of the home is perfect, especially if you plan to walk to downtown Salem or drive to the train station. It is close to Salem University which is beautiful too. There is a pharmacy nearby, also within walking distance. You may wish to bring additional pans and utensils as we did. Everything in the house worked well, we did not need to communicate with the owner during our stay. The neighbourhood is very quiet too.

Great vacation

Loved the house except for a few minor things. 1) please add tvs to more rooms than just the 1. We had 5 people fighting over it lol 2) please add more washcloths, 2 wasn’t enough for a family of 5. 3) please add a way to watch tv streaming services, we went and bought a Roku to use while there. Besides that, the house was great and in good condition, the beds and pillows were great, location was amazing, ease of checking in was perfect. Definitely would stay again!

Very nice

The house was gorgeous and in a quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown Salem! The only thing is, in the listing there are hairdryers but there weren’t any in the house. But that’s not a big deal compared to how beautiful this place was! The owner was very easy to talk to and nice, 100% recommend!

Salem vacation

Property was nice. Only problem was no air in 2 of the bedrooms. Owner did purchase one and put it in. We could not get the only tv in basement to work.

No frills but great location

The property is located in a great area, but it needs some love. It looks like someone moved out and took everything but the furniture and towels. It isn’t stocked with anything but the bare minimum. The bedrooms are good but the pull out couch is in the basement and it smells and feels like a basement. There is only one tv that is also in the basement.

Loved the home - it felt like being home at the end of a long day shopping and doing many things in town. Clean! Just wish the towels were ready and set in the bathrooms and instructions left on what to do with used towels and if the garbage should have been taken out. Basement was stinky. Other than that, wonderful place and setup - sooooo close to town and convenient!

DO NOT STAY HERE

We drove all day to check in and get some rest. We were asked what time we expected to arrive. We said 5ish (check in time was 3). They said “Perfect”. When we arrived the place had not been cleaned from the previous tenants. Garbage, wet towels, dirty dishes, beds not changed…NOTHING. House cleaner showed up AFTER and told us to have a seat while she cleaned! Uh no! We left and went to a hotel. We cannot get a response now from the host. VRBO has been contacted.

Bait and switch

The night before our flight to Boston, the owner messaged me to let me know he double booked the property. He assured me he found a comparable property so I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. The new property was no where near the original, was a small apartment instead of an entire house, there was not adequate sitting or sleeping space and instead of a 4 bedroom house we had one bed and a pull out couch. There was limited street parking instead of a driveway. Once we were given access to the “new lodging” the owner ghosted me the rest of the weekend. The host was John b Michaels with the Suffolk hospitality group. Fortunately I contacted Vrbo directly and they found us alternate lodging and were very accommodating. Do not book with this host!!!

The house itself was okay. We spent the day around Salem shopping, etc. We came back to NO electricity! Not to mention the house smelled like gas. We checked out of the house and had to find another place to stay. I talked to the peoperty manager who assured me I would receive a credit. That was Oct 1 2024. As if today I have still not received it. This place is ran horrible. I have tried emailing and calling. WHEN they answer me I am promised the credit. Talked to VRBO they have been NO help! I feel like I am being bullied and have been taken advantage of. Horrible. The owner owed over $700 back electricity. Suffolk Realty Group should be ashamed and VRBO should be ashamed! assured ne i would

Inaccurate description. Needs TLC and better communication from management

Place looked cute in pics but looked pretty different when we got there. Many pics taken off of walls, different furniture, no plants anywhere. The place almost looked like it was abandoned and definitely needs a deep clean. No AC in downstairs bedroom and AC kept shutting off in one of the upstairs bedrooms. TV in basement was virtually useless unless you can log into your own Netflix account. On top of that, management gives no check out instructions. I requested them, they said they'd send them and didn't. Sent a message asking for them again this morning and didn't get a response. The house was overall cute, just very much lived in with dust and dirt, scratches and dings in the walls. The deck and string lights were really cute, bed was cozy, but sadly I don't think I'll be back due to the disappointment with my experience

Not great

The house was in a decent location, but certainly not “ultra convenient,” nor was it beautiful or cozy as described. The owner is a property manager and was kind in his correspondence (which occurred via text and not through VRBO), however the day prior to our arrival I sent a message to the host through VRBO requesting details about check-in and did not hear anything back until about 4 hours before we could check in. We honestly thought we were going to need to find alternative options. It was confusing to us that we heard from him directly instead of through VRBO correspondence, but frankly we were just glad to hear back and check in was simple. The home is quaint and seemingly in a safe enough neighborhood, however it was quite dirty with very old looking stained carpet and a foul smell that lingered on our belongings well after we left. The A/C unit did not work properly in one of the bedrooms and there were no blinds or curtains in the upstairs bathroom so anyone could see in from outside. As a family of 5 we hoped the home would be a place we would enjoy spending time together in, but we felt uncomfortable being there. Overall, not a great experience.

Not as advertised, terrible communication

House was clean and location was nice but there were several issues. Check-in was at 3, we didn’t arrive till 5 and the cleaning crew was still there. No big deal, but they left laundry in the washer and dryer. There was very little to cook with in the house( pots or pans) so we had to eat out more than we planned. House was advertised as having AC and it does not. Tried contacting the property manager several times and he would not respond. Called Vrbo to report and he finally responded days later. Also he gave me a bunch of excuses as to why the AC wasn’t there. Said there are window units installed upon request. Sounds like a load of bs to me. No instructions were left for the trash and the bins were completely full. Very dissatisfied and will not be booking anything with Suffolk property management ever again.

Pictures are not what they seem ….

My family and I rented this property for 4 nights. This was listed as cozy, beautiful and ultra convenient. Unfortunately this was not the case. The pictures posted are completely inaccurate. The walls are bare, with hooks still in the wall, the pictures that are hung still have the price tags on them. The furniture is different from the pictures, there was no bbq and no bunk beds. Very sterile and vacant looking. When my family arrived (Friday afternoon) , we checked the rooms and had a look around. We noticed garbage from previous guests in the trash can, recycling bin full, stained carpets upstairs, hair on the shower walls, popcorn crumbs, towels in the linen closet had holes and bleach stained and kernels on the floor and no grill on the back deck (as listed). I messaged the property manager to ask about the grill and was advised they took it away as it was for seasonal use, and they could try to find me one. I told them not to bother, and then mentioned how our first impression was that the property was very untidy and garbage was left. There was no reply. Monday I reached out again, asking if there was anything we needed to do, ie garbage etc and did not hear back till Tuesday morning. This was very disappointing to say the least The reason we chose a vrbo vs a hotel is as a family we wanted a space to relax and enjoy while away, but instead we would find reasons not to go back to the house and rather stay out.

the house has some misleading photos online vs what it looks like in person- there are some different couches, etc pictured. then there are the pictures of what the property actually looks like as well. this wasn’t a big deal but just made the listing a bit inaccurate. they also mentioned having a hair dryer for guest use on the property, and did not have one. the neighborhood was nice, it was very quiet and felt very safe. the heating was working when we arrived, then by the next morning it was off. we did not have heat for 2 days of our stay.
