Thanks Tricia for the great review. We are fully aware that "things happen" and so it's especially important that we (and our staff) take pride in our responsiveness and problem solving skills. Keeping a home fully functional in a developing country, especially as remote as we are, is not joke!! But hey, it keeps us entertained.

I'm sorry we experienced internet issues during your stay. While the national provider is usually pretty quick to restore service, the big storm knocked out service throughout the zone, and it's intermittent function seemed to jive exactly when one or the other of us was trying to connect. Like a bad game of "operator" eh?

Angler's Lair was our family home for years, and designed to celebrate the very reason we moved here... abundant wildlife, verdant jungle, sounds of the ocean to drift off to, and, of course, casual living. Of course, the wildlife is sometimes a bit, well, wild! The raccoons have definitely proven to be adaptable, and if their cute little faces weren't so charming, I think I could actually dislike them! Lessons we've all learned... lock up your eggs, bread and bananas, and why don't they like pineapple??

And we DO hope you return someday!! It was delightful to have the extra time to spend with you both. Thank you for the great review and for recommending the fishing tours. Captain Pino is a hit with everyone he meets. We're very fortunate to have him with us at Wahoo Fishing & Tours. (Shameless plug)

The greatest compliment is a returning guest! We have a few and we would love to count you among them. It is sheer luck that the Blue Morphos has selected our yard as it's commute zone, and seeing them fly through several times a day is a delight. Though in 10 years, I've yet to get a good photo... but alas, I don't give up! Thank you for the wonderful review, we look forward to our next visit with you.

Thank you Steve for the nice comments. I, too, am not in love with that highway, but the upside is that it does limit the number of people who come here, keeping us a bit more off the beaten track. Blah does provide a safe and sane ride here in his van, and you feel like you've got a friend in town once you arrive, huh. Omar, with his knowledge and wit provides an excellent hike into the jungles and hidden coastline of the Gandoca-Manzanillo Reserve, I'm glad you enjoyed the experience as much as we did the first time 14 years ago!!

I'm genuinely disappointed that we experienced communication issues during your stay. My husband encountered one of your group in the parking area, and when he inquired was told that the group had arrived early, settled in and would reach out if you needed anything. We are always available by the platform inbox, but also provide our WhatsApp and local phone number. We typically respond pretty quick as we live just a mile away. Things like refilling gas cans, garbage/recycling storage and hot tub thermostat are easy fixes which we could have remedied immediately. Other items like the calcium buildup in faucets, adjusting screens and trimming vines are constant issues we address when the jungle shows who's winning.

Thank you for noticing the myriad of items which make the home unique. We know that for many people, the best part of travel can be living differently than one does at home. When we built this home while we were still living in the US, we specifically wanted a different experience than we had at home. So the outdoor showers, and open living areas, the colorful murals, and mosaic surfaces were all things I would not do in the north! It is rewarding when guests like you appreciate it!

... and we didn't want you to leave either! It was so rewarding to see the obvious enjoyment and appreciation your family shared visiting the Caribe Sur. I'm so happy some of our best ambassadors were on hand, I still stop everything I'm doing to watch a sloth in the yard, and the monkeys positively demand attention with their antics. We genuinely hope to see you again!

We needed a vacation after you left--just kidding! We enjoyed hearing about your adventures and love that you were so excited each day about what you had seen, where you had been, and what you did. After all these years, we are still as passionate about this amazing place on earth, it makes us so happy when people like you get that! See you next time!!

I appreciate that you point out the jungle experience is different from the western luxury many hosts have created. While we strive to provide comfortable, even some luxurious amenities, we truly pride ourselves in creating a property that immerses you in the experience of the Caribe Sur--the sights, sounds, and jungle vibe.

Your suggestions about providing a few totes is a good one, I will pick some up immediately. We have had a grill off/on, but they always rust out, yet, as you point out, it's time to replace it!
