This property has lovely views of Squam Lake, there was no clear path down to the lake due to overgrowth, but it was beautiful. Not sure the property was cleaned between stays, the bathrooms kitchen were clean, there were cracker crumbs on the chair in the TV room and the spiders may have had a hey day between visits as the cobwebs were in full view, this may be a New England thing. I did not feel it had been dusted in a while. It is a lovely old home in New England. However, it is not a single home, the front of the property is rented. This was not a problem but would have been nice to know. She has a dog that is beautiful and did bark in the mornings.Coming from the West we did not realize that the beds would not be made and we had to search for towels which we finally found in the dryer. Every VRBO that I have rented in the West (and there have been many) has beds made, towels hung, shampoo (at least a small amount) and soaps available. The soaps that were available had been well used. The house accommodated the 4 of us nicely. It was more remote than we realized but turned out to be just about 10-15 minutes from our friends in Sandwich. There was coffee available and the kitchen worked nicely for our breakfasts (kitchen well equipped). The rest of the days were spent exploring the surrounding area. A day trip to Mt. Washington proved to be absolutely lovely, we caught the change of colors just perfectly. John that owns the home is a delight!!!!
