We had a very enjoyable stay. The host was very helpful with everything and the house is very well stocked which was very much appreciated.

Possibly the cleanest vacation rental I've ever stayed in. Gillian is an excellent communicator, and the house is great!

We have traveled for years and this is, by far, the best home we have ever stayed in. The view alone was outstanding. The amenities were above and beyond what we expected. The host was excellent at communication and always helpful. Location is exactly what we needed for everything we wanted to do from Portland to Boothbay Harbor. Highly recommend a visit.

The property was in a perfect location, lots of outdoor enjoyment options, relaxing on the dock was a revisited pleasure. Quiet countryside neighborhood. House was clean, bright, well thought out for guests, Wonderful kitchen to prepare meals for many.

A great place to land in Maine! It's private and quiet yet close to all that the surrounding area has to offer. The cottage is clean, very roomy, and comfortable. It has a nice back lawn and chairs for relaxing, taking in the pretty waterfront, and osprey and heron watching. Our host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with; checking in at one point to see if we had everything we needed. We'd highIy recommend a stay at Idle Ours Cottage!

Maine Relaxation!

Great location, wonderful view, comfortable beds all the things you need. Nearby everything, but feels secluded.

Fantastic stay

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. Comfortable beds, serene views, and plenty of space for our family of four to spread out. Enjoyed the little touches: coffee, bottled water in the fridge, and the bright porch lights that helped us find the property upon arrival our first evening.

Magical stay over July 4th

This waterfront property was a dream—fully kitted out with everything you could need, with lovely neighbors and a west-facing lawn to savor those magical sunsets. Fully recommended to anyone seeking out an escape on the Midcoast. Thank you!

This is such an incredibly magical place, managed and cared for lovingly by the family. We had everything we needed and enjoyed every minute. We got there late, the house was ready for us with windows open to make sure it was nice a cool, ready for sleep. Fresh flowers adorned the table and the house was clean and inviting. Take the short 3 minute walk to the Maine Audubon trail down the road, go in to Bath to have breakfast at Mae's and enjoy your slow mornings reading while overlooking the lake before heading out. Thanks for everything, Gillian!

Loved our visit to Maine and Idle Ours was the perfect home base! The views were amazing and the house was very cute and clean. The host was excellent in communicating to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!!
