Grassy Knoll Retreat on the Big Spirit Lake

This beautifully appointed cottage is perched on grassy knolls that gently slope toward your very own 50 feet of Big Spirit Lake shoreline! The home is lovingly designed for your multigenerational family get together!

Perfect for families with small children that want to be lakefront but not on top of the shoreline. The primary suite is tucked away for solitude and has a private bathroom and entrance. Two additional bedrooms on the main floor provide comfortable and fun atmospheres. This five-bedroom home can accommodate 12 in the bedroom suites with room for 2 to 4 more guests on new sleeper sofas (located in the main level living room) or cots. (PLUS a babytrend nursery center including bassinet, playpen, and changing table is tucked away in the primary suite for your littlest one!) Two more bathrooms provide enough space for everyone. The two lower level bedrooms (with plenty of natural light) both provide a twin over full bunk bed. Family and friends will enjoy the open living room with great views of the Lake. The sun rises over the lake and your east-facing view gives you first glance at God’s glorious morning show while you enjoy fresh coffee on the patio or in the sunroom!
The shoreline has lots of room for lounging by the water and a canoe and kayaks are provided for those who want to get out and experience the great expanse known as Big Spirit Lake! Tall oak trees provide a beautiful, shaded yard free from the fierce summer sun for games, picnics, horseshoes and wiggling your toes in the soft bluegrass. This home is located on the southwest side of the lake with five minute access to shopping, dining, and the lively activities of Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park, and Okoboji.
When you are done enjoying the evening sounds of the lake and crackling fires around the fire pit, retreat indoors to the well-stocked game room or your bedroom with its own TV. The home provides free Wi Fi, so bring your passwords for Netflix and; YouTube TV to relax after dark!
This lakeside retreat blends classic charm with modern convenience and promises an unforgettable place to make cherished memories with your family and friends. Enjoy private accommodations, parking, stocked games and a second refrigerator for your beverages/extra groceries and water. The kitchen is equipped for 16 guests, and includes a Keurig single and full coffee pot, blender, crockpots, and all the pots, pans and utensils needed for you to prepare great meals. A dishwasher, washer and dryer complete the amenities for a comfortable stay. Come and spend the week --- and you’ll want to secure your spot again for the following season!
There is parking space for up to 4+ vehicles in the driveway and 2 additional spaces on the side.
Cancelation Policy – Okoboji Vacation has set this policy with you in mind. You are allowed to cancel your reservation up to 60 days prior to your arrival with a full refund. If you need to cancel between 59 days and 30 days you will receive a 50% refund. Within 30 days of your arrival no refunds are given.
This property is professional hosted by, locally owned and operated, Okoboji Vacation Co. were we strive to bring only the best quality experience to our guests including professional linen service at this property to better enhance your enjoyment while staying here. This amenity provides you quality linens that are in place and ready for your use upon your arrival. These linens are laundered in a commercial setting that uses only dye-free soaps assuring all guests a comfortable stay. With all Okoboji Vacation Co. properties, we think of the little things to make your vacation special, with a starter pack of 3 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 2 rolls of kitchen paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner packets, face bar soap, 5 garbage bags, dishwasher and laundry detergent. Included in your cleaning fee is the above toiletry starter pack, propane replacement, concierge and access to our Host Store. (make arrangement if you think your group will need more than provided in the starter pack) We also offer a range of supplemental services and items including early check-in/late check-out, hangover kits, or fresh flowers for a romantic getaway. Need a pack n’ play or toddler cot, pack of bottled water, firewood, etc? These are available for a small additional fee on our Host Store (email sent one week before check-in) and will be waiting in the home on your arrival.

Advanced Payment of 50% is due at the time of booking. Remaining Balance due 30 days prior to your arrival. Failure to remit final rental payment by scheduled due date may result in cancellation of your reservation.
All payments are refundable prior to the cancelation due dates. To protect your rental investment, we strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance. No refunds will be given for late arrivals, early departures, no shows, or cleaning or maintenance concerns. If present and reported, all cleaning or maintenance concerns will be corrected promptly.
Service fees may apply to guests who reserve online with a third-party booking website. Third party services fees are not controlled nor collected by Okoboji Vacation Company, and as such are not reflected on reservation statements provided by Okoboji Vacation Company.
A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged to the traveler if canceled between 60 days and 31 days prior to arrival. Reservations canceled within 30 days of arrival will result in no refund.
A refundable security deposit of $300 may be charged on reservations. Guests will be responsible for all intentional damage to include but not limited to broken items, soiled or misplaced linens, loss of keys, theft, or failure to remove garbage from the property, or leaving the property excessively dirty. Confetti or glitter is not allowed in the property.
