Lake Michigan Sand Beach & Wooded Privacy

Located just east of Oostburg, Wisconsin beach and lake front home is a place to enjoy the seasons of Lake Michigan. You have your own 200 foot 'singing sand' beach. Home is located on a private road among native stands of hemlock and pine trees. The property has historically been known as 'The Clearing'. Lake Michigan in 2022 was at highwater levels which resulted in the sand beach being minimal for much of that season. The beach is back as the picture of December 2024 shows! Should be a great season on the beach at the Clearing!

This Non-Smoking home sleeps six. The dominant windows bring the outside in throughout the house. Additional amenities include wood burning stove, beach campfire site, dining area overlooks the lake, sunroom and cove rooms for coffee and quiet time overlooking the lake. Extra cabin in the rear has electricity, another two twin beds, and wood burning stove. This extra cabin provides a quiet place to get away from others or fun for the kids to hang out in.

Area Information: 43 miles north of downtown Milwaukee via I-43 and ten miles south of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Nearby attractions begin with golfing (Blackwolf Run Courses, The Irish, Whistling Straits - site of PGA August 2004/2010/2015, 2007 US Senior Open & Ryder Cup 2021, The Bull, The Bog, and others). Variety of shopping is available with Kohler, Cedarburg, Sheboygan riverfront, and antique shops throughout the vicinity. Motor sports at Road America at Elkhart Lake. Bike trail access is within four miles in Oostburg. Daily fee access to public boat launch facility is six miles south. Nearby state parks of Kohler Andre and Harrington Beach provide further samplings of the area’s natural beauty. Casual and fine dining is available in Oostburg, Kohler and Sheboygan. Milwaukee area is home to many major events and attractions with less than an hour’s drive.

The Clearing has become our beach front paradise, home away from home The perfect peaceful retreat! The cabin is welcoming, clean, and has the perfect layout for fun family game and meal time; as well as many inviting little niches for some space and alone time. The morning sunrise view is stunning, and there is plenty of beach front to enjoy walks and fun in the sun. The wooded surroundings are beautiful, and offer plenty of privacy, without feeling completely secluded.This was our fourth week-long visit to the Clearing and we will definitely be back!

What a gorgeous week!! Nice and sunny a couple days and cool , cloudy a few. Great for going to Andre Kohler State park and then to Sheboygan when we weren’t relaxing at The Clearing! Beautiful walks in the woods and then along the beach… our dog loved her stay!Thank you so much for the cozy accommodations.. this is our second time and would definitely recommend it! Looking forward to returning soon!

Ladies weekend

My sister and I brought my mom and a friend here to celebrate her 87th birthday. The place was perfect! All women enjoyed getting up with the sun and the lake views. Meals were spent around the table talking and laughing. It was easy to get to Sheboygan for lunch, as well as to parks for a hike.We brought along our dog, who loved the beach and the water.Thank you so much - we’ll be back!

This was our 3rd summer stay at the property and I feel like it just keeps getting better. Quiet, secluded, beautiful view and easy (now) / excellent beach access. One of our favorite beach stays that now feels like home away from home.

Beautiful spot

We loved being so close to the lake and enjoyed our walks on the beach. The swimming was great and loved the location of the cottage! A truly beautiful spot!

Always a nice time

We've stayed at this property the past 3 years in a row. The beach is great for walking and the house has perfect views. It has everything we need for our family and pets. A good time is had by all every year, we love going to the Oostburg bakery and watching the deer while eating dinner at Majerle's Black River grill. Union Asian Market in Sheboygan is excellent also, great papaya salad! Overall, a really nice area to explore and a good location to relax and watch the waves come in on the sandy beach.

Amazing Views!

Our family (mom dad 11 year old 9 year old) rented for a week. Check in was super easy and the property manager was responsive with questions before we arrived. My kids loved the bunk bed room and being right on the beach. Us parents loved all the different sitting areas with views of the water and the privacy of the house. Also appreciated the washer/dryer for lighter packing. It was nice to have two dining tables-we used one for meals and one for puzzles.The water was colder than I realized it would be that week but we made due :)

Amazing place

We absolutely love it here and have stayed here about five times over the last few years. This great cottage full of wonderful character never changes …it’s always clean , quiet and peaceful - with unbelievably beautiful frontage of our beautiful Lake Michigan.
