The location is great being central to state street and the ocean. It was very quiet and although we were there during a heat wave the cross breeze and provided fans cooled the place off well. It is very comfortable with a separate bedroom and a fully stocked small kitchen. It’s not fancy but practical and well worth the price.

Sally, perfect. Thank you. After the remodel in September, we will be installing AC. I know it was unusually hot when you were there. It will be a lot different in a couple of months with new improvments. Thank you again. We apreciate it.

Had a wonderful weekend stay. Amazing location… we could walk literally everywhere: the beach, downtown, etc. I would love to stay here again. Had everything we needed, comfortable bed, living room with tv, full kitchen. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! It was very easy to communicate with the host as well.

The place was very clean. The kitchen was well-equipped. The rooftop deck has a fire pit and comfortable chairs. The bed was comfortable. The best aspect of the property is the location. It is less than a five minute walk to the beach.

Wonderful stay amazing location! Walked to everything! Host is doing some renovations soon which will just add to the experience, look forward to seeing that as well. We will be coming back in the future!

We loved the location and place was tidy and clean. Only issue was parking, but that was explained after asking the host. We would probably stay there again.

Cute place! Everything you need for a stay near beautiful downtown SB. Fully-functional kitchen, comfy bed, and clean. The host, Jeff, is very responsive and tries hard to accommodate any requiests. A real find!

Steve, thank you. I have many upgrades coming (simple amentities to try and make it even a lot nicer. New linen, towels, kitchen stuff. Just basic stuff to really freshen it up. Thank you for your patience while I make the improvements.

This location is pretty the closest you can get to the beach and downtown and the Funk zone. My friend and I were able to walk everywhere. The property owner was very communicative and ready to jump on the phone when we had questions.

Jeff is an attentive host with quick response time to questions. The neighborhood is gorgeous! We felt safe and were a block away from the beach, shopping, Stearn wharf, and endless yummy food and bars. The accommodations are cozy, clean, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. We didn’t hear people in the other units which made feel very private. A perfect place to enjoy the chill vibe of SB and be close to everything fun when you want it.

I appreciate your commnication and I want to make it the best experience possible for our guests. We have already made enhancments since you left (new Esrpresso machine and new rug). We loved the location and the charm of the neighborhood. The unit was as described. It is being upgraded in 2026 which some items needed, but it did not take away from our enjoyment of the place. We are booking again for all 3 units. That is how much we loved our stay.

Lovely place and location!

My mom, friend, and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was perfect! Cute neighborhood, walkable to the funk zone and state street, and has a bonus rooftop garden. We would stay here in the future again!

Great house in a great location.

Neat property with creekside patio and spectacular rooftop garden. Easy walking distance to Funk Zone, beach, wharf and marina. Everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.

Great Location

We had a nice stay here and it suited our needs perfectly. We were able to walk to State Street for dinner and to Chase Palm Park for our wine event. Our host responded quickly when I texted him. Looking forward to our next stay!

perfect location

Wonderful house in a great location. Everything you need for a pleasant stay in Santa Barbara. Roof top gardens are amazing and the landscaping around each house in the neighborhood made walking a pleasure. Walkable to downtown fun and the beach and wharf.

Beautiful & Memorable

Couldn't ask for a better host or a more enchanting and dreamy location. Sandy was always responsive and helpful. We loved every minute of our stay. Huge bonus that proximity to beach is unbeatable. Would love to stay here again in the future!!

We love Chapala Gardens and the location is perfect

This is our 2nd time staying at Chapala Gardens and we will be back! It’s perfect for us from a location perspective as we can walk everywhere we need to and where we enjoy spending time which is the beach and the funk zone Sandy the owner is very responsive IF we need anything

Spring break get away

Location is perfect! Right next to the beach and State street. Roof top patio is absolutely lovely. We enjoyed playing cards on the deck, laughing and enjoying the time. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Great Location

We had a wonderful stay . Easy check in process . Great communication with owner . The bed is really great. You can easily walk to the beach and to all the great restaurants nearby. The only negative is the parking the weekend there is only 90 minutes parking from 10 am to 5pm.

Thank you for the wonderful comments. AS for the restricted weekend parking, it really only affects one from noon until 3pm, given the 90+-minutes allowed. And there are work-arounds we suggest: from parking around the corner in the morning, to simply moving the position of the vehicle once at mid-day.

Great little spot close to the beach.

My mother, partner, and I really enjoyed our stay at a Chapala Gardens. This is our first time to Santa Barbara and we felt right at home. There were some “technical difficulties” with the house, but Sandy was very responsive and very accommodating. We can’t wait to come back.
