The home is well decorated and cozy. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the deck and the location is amazing. Our hosts were very responsive and kind. We will definitely stay again.

This review appears to be retaliatory in nature following a denied refund request due to the guest's change in schedule. The guest did not stay at the property. We have reported this to the platform.

Worst VRBO - The door doesn't lock and the balcony is rickety and so run down. The house is on East Dean Keeton and there is no way to feel secure since the door wouldn't open or even lock because the frame and door jamb don't meet. The railing and deck are so old and falling apart.

This appears to be a retaliatory review following a rejected refund request, and we've reported it to the platform with documentation. Our pre-arrival and post-stay inspections both confirmed that the door and lock were working normally. We are located across the street from the UT Law School main building and the LBJ School, right on the UT campus, where we have hosted many happy scholars and UT families.

Great place to stay for UT tour

The little house is perfectly situated next to campus and our hosts provided a clean and cozy place and were responsive to questions.

The perfect spot for a visit to UT-Austin area

This place was literally perfect! Cozy, convenient and clean. I can't wait to stay here again next time we're in Austin. The location is perfect for all things UT and easy to get out and about in the city as well.

Fantastic location to see a UT football game. A welcoming host. Suggestion: since the door lock was mentioned several times, can the door lock be replaced to avoid an accidental lockout? Also, the shower head was dripping even after the hot and cold water were turned off.

Misrepresented, Unsafe, and Disappointing — Avoid This Property and Host

We booked this property for a weekend trip to attend a concert at the Moody Center. The listing advertised it as a “treehouse oasis,” which appealed to us. While the location was indeed walkable, the overall experience fell far short of expectations.Upon arrival, we discovered a large encampment extremely close to the property — within about 10 feet of the front door. The area showed signs of heavy foot traffic, graffiti, and an overwhelming odor. We also experienced consistent loud noise and shouting that disrupted our stay and made us feel unsafe. This was not mentioned in the listing, which made the discovery particularly unsettling.After contacting the host about our concerns, we were told we could check out early and would be refunded for the unused night as well as our deposit. Unfortunately, when we tried to make this change through the app and later reached out to customer service, the host reversed course and declined to honor the agreement.There were also issues with the check-in process and overall cleanliness:The check-in code was received very close to arrival time.The cleaning crew was still inside when we arrived, so we had to wait.The property had lingering holiday decorations, visible dust, and linens that were still damp.Towels and washcloths were mismatched and not what we expected from a professionally managed rental.While we understand that no property is perfect, this listing did not accurately reflect the conditions

Excellent host and communication. Very peaceful while still in close proximity to campus and the rest of Austin. Very nice back area with a little stream flowing by. Will definitely utilize this host in the future! Excellent!
