Welcome to Sleepy Bear Retreat nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Traverse City, Michigan

Our first floor 1-bedroom condo offers you a serene escape surrounded by lakes, sand dunes, and unforgettable sunsets. Whether you're seeking a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or a solo adventure, our cozy haven promises to wow you with its moody coastal vibes and inviting ambiance.

Our ground-floor condo offers easy access for seamless arrivals and departures. Our thoughtfully curated interior boasts a captivating blend of blues and plum hues.

The cozy living area beckons you to unwind with a good book or enjoy a movie night after a day of exploration. Prepare delicious meals in the fully-equipped kitchen and enjoy dining at our cozy dining room table or take your meals outside to our patio. The bedroom is a tranquil retreat, featuring a modern coastal-inspired chandelier and a comfortable bed that ensures a restful night’s sleep.

Everything in the condo is brand new. There are two TV's in the condo, one in the living room that is 55 inches and one in the bedroom that is 43 inches. There is a Roku device that allows standard cable or log-in to your favorite streaming app. In the morning, help yourself to a hot cup of coffee or tea, creamer and sugar provided.

There is a Burrow Shift Queen sleeper sofa in the living room and a brand new queen bed in the bedroom. There are black out curtains throughout to ensure a good night's rest.

The bathroom has all the essentials for your trip - shampoo, conditioner, body soap, make-up towels and a hair blower. There is a washer/dryer in the unit and detergent is supplied.

There is a locked bike room on the same floor as the condo. Bring your own bikes or borrow one of our two cruiser bikes during your stay. We provide the locks, key fob for access to the room, bike baskets and pump. We also provide helmets that we strongly recommend you use when using the bikes. Guests will use the bikes provided at their own risk.

Just steps away from the condo is the renowned Tart Trail, the perfect starting point for outdoor enthusiasts. Close by you can stroll along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, hike through towering sand dunes, or simply enjoy the breathtaking sunsets.

Downtown, you can explore charming downtown shops, indulge in locally-sourced cuisine at waterfront restaurants, or embark on a wine tasting adventure along the nearby Old Mission Peninsula.

There is an elevator in the building that goes up to all floors.

On the 4th floor is a large community room great for larger events or work meetings. There is a TV as well as a fireplace up there along with plenty of seating and dining capability.

This condo is kid friendly and there is a pack n play and high chair in the unit. A baby bib is there along with kid friendly dishes, cups and utensils.

This condo is Pet friendly up to two dogs.

Absolutely the cleanest stay I've ever had. Listing was 100% accurate, and my check in process was incredibly easy. Kitchen was prepped, but i ended up ordering out, went to a place 5 minutes away and came back to a comfortable bed. Will definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area

Perfect Getaway

Loved our 5nt stay, Julie thought of everything for the condo as it was very comfortable. Best part were the bikes available, we took full advantage with the TART path being right off the back of the property - headed downtown, to the beach, and breweries. Would love to stay again!

A beautiful vacation spot

So close to everything. We really enjoyed the stay. Every little detail was taken care of. Very comfortable. We will be back.

Experienced Travelers

This is a beautiful condo, very small but was perfect for my husband and & I and our two small dogs. It would not fit 4 adults, kids maybe on the sofa. Our goal was the Tart Trail, bikes & dogs and it was perfect for that. There’s a temporary issue with the AC, we weren’t made aware of so window needed to be open for that and it’s a ground level so lots of parking lot noise. We did buy the insurance, thank goodness because even though there was a known plumbing issue, which I immediately reached out to the owner about, we came home to a claim notification. IMO when there is a known issue and a renter reconfirms this, correct it on your own dime. We paid a lot of money to stay here. Disappointed in the response I received about that, so buy insurance or not and maybe she won’t make a claim.

I’m glad to hear that the condo was a good fit for you, your husband, and your two small dogs, and that it served its purpose well for your time on the Tart Trail. I try to go above and beyond for each and every guest that chooses to stay at Sleepy Bear Retreat. I accommodated an early arrival for your check-in with no additional fee. Sleepy Bear Retreat is indeed a cozy 1st floor 1-bedroom condo, and the square footage is clearly listed in the description. While many guests have comfortably stayed with four adults, I understand that space can feel different based on individual needs. The sleeper sofa is the same size mattress as the Queen sized one in the bedroom. Each is designed to comfortably accommodate two adults. Regarding the AC unit, I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary issue. We are in the process of replacing the unit, but unfortunately, the installation was delayed. In the meantime, the portable AC should have provided adequate cooling, and the window seal is designed to minimize any impact from outside noise. I regret that this was not up to your expectations. The condo is on the back-side of the building which is the quieter side away from the cars on the main road. I also want to address the plumbing issue you experienced. As soon as you notified me that the sink was leaking and overflowing, I arranged for a handyman to visit the property the same day to address the problem. The two guests directly before you had no known issues with the sink. Before I filed a claim, I verified that I could file one for this type of repair and that there was no financial impact to the guest. I always responded timely and reached out several times to ensure your stay was top notch. Everything seemed to be great until I filed a claim and then you let me know that you would withhold your review which was very disappointing. I took that to mean you would give me a bad review as you were frustrated that I filed a claim and in your own words you felt as if the claim was “against you.” The claim is not against the guest; it is simply a way to recoup expenses that occurred during your stay. I apologize if filing a claim caused any frustration. My goal is always to ensure a positive experience for my guests, and I regret that this situation led to dissatisfaction. Reviews are extremely important to me as I am a new host. Appreciate your feedback so I can continue to create an extraordinary stay for future guests. Best regards, Julie Sleepy Bear Retreat

Super cute and cozy condo near downtown. Extremely clean, several amenities, great and quick communication. Checking in and out was a breeze. Would absolutely return!
