Are you looking for a unique experience? If so, you have found it at the Linekin Bay Chapel. The Chapel was converted to a 2 bedroom home and has the original stained glass windows and bell tower. It boasts a large open living room with the original hardwood floors and a sun room.

Relax on the back deck with a drink and barbecue or go for a hike on nearby Linekin Preserve which offers over 100 acres of hiking trails including scenic ocean frontage. Also for hiking, the Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) offers over 30 miles of coastal and woodland trails which are open year round and are free to the public. A short walk takes you to bold open ocean frontage on King Phillips Trail where there are spectacular sunrises. Less than a 5 minute drive takes you to Ocean Point where you can watch a breathtaking sunset (don't forget your camera).

Downtown Boothbay Harbor is 4.5 miles away and offers numerous shops, galleries, restaurants and great night life. Ocean cruises are available here for lobster/clam bakes, as well as whale and seal watching excursions. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (the largest in New England) is less than 10 minutes from the chapel and offers over 250 acres of waterfront and woodland trails; it also includes sensory gardens, impressive waterfalls, stonework, and a great Cafe.

The Chapel has a large wrap-around deck with patio furniture and a gas grill. There is also a large sun porch which is a great place for morning coffee. It has a well stocked kitchen with some of the original wood cabinets. There is a dishwasher for your convenience. There is air conditioning as well as a washer and dryer.

There is also a public boat ramp nearby. There is also a nearby lake so feel free to use our canoe and life jackets as long as you have a way to transport the canoe.

The Chapel, also known as 'the Pink and Purple Church', was built in 1911 and was a Methodist summer chapel. It was later converted to a private residence and an art gallery and is known for the whimsical color scheme.

Wonderful stay!

Wonderful Place

This was our 4th stay and that says it all! We love the Pink and Purple Chapel, Justin and Kristin are great hosts and the chapel has everything you would ever need to make your stay comfortable and first rate! It’s a unique and very special place. Highly recommend!!!!

Fantastic Stay

The chaple was FANTASTIC!!! Very clean and well set up for families to be there. It was in a great local. We were able to go to the coast each night to look for sea glass and watch the sunset. We will definately return for another vacation.

Amazing Getaway to Make Cherished Memories

We love the pink and purple church! It’s an amazing place to stay and enjoy as you’re home away from home. The littlest details are all taken care of for you and you will immediately feel how special this place is. Kristin and Jason are wonderful hosts and will make you feel so welcome! It’s comfortable, very well stocked, beautiful and a great place to stay in one of the prettiest communities in Maine. We have made such special memories at this location. It’s so spacious, beautifully decorated and has all the comforts you could want. Book it! You won’t be disappointed! We look forward to returning to this amazing getaway each year!

Staying at the Purple Chapel

This is a very comfortable, quirky, beautiful, very well stocked home. We loved the way the sunlight breaks through the stained glass windows and its mellowness. Ocean Point near fails to please and staying at the Chapel was a wonderful (wonder filled?!) bonus.

Perfect Getaway

The Chapel was a wonderful and very unique experience. With just the right blend of modern comfort but keeping the historic touches. The original stained glass windows are amazing when lit up by the morning sun. Great location that was private but close enough to enjoy all the things Boothbay Harbor has to offer.Very comfortable beds and quality linens. Excellent communication with Jason and Kristen, they are great hosts. Looking forward to our next vacation at the Chapel

First time visiting Maine

Search no further! Pick this place for your stay! It is beautiful and in a great location. The Chapel is clean, has everything you need in a kitchen. There's also a grill. Lots of games and puzzles. The area has lots of things to do. Great places to eat. Jason and Kristin are great host. The Webbs South Central PA

A Unique Experience

We stayed in a lovely church that is no longer a church but a interesting and comforting "home." for those who are visiting Booth Bay Harbor in Maine. Our hosts were generous with extra towels, linens and soaps.

Another wonderful trip to the Boothbay

This is our second year staying in the chapel. We had a wonderful time again and hope to return next year! It is such a beautiful and unique property!

Love The Pink and Purple Chapel!

We stayed at the chapel for our twentieth anniversary. Of all the places we’ve stayed in Maine, the Pink and Purple chapel is our favorite! The attention to detail is beyond anything we expected. All you need to do is bringing clothing, a few toiletries, buy food and you are set! The kitchen is more than well stocked with everything we needed. The washer and dryer came in handy, as did the dishwasher. The bathroom sparkled, and the living and dining areas are huge. The entire home is spotless. There is plenty of parking and the chapel’s location is perfect. It’s a nice drive to Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Bath and Brunswick if you want to explore. The chapel is so beautiful. The stained glass is everywhere, so prepare to take a lot of pictures. We spent a lot of the day out exploring Maine and when we returned it felt like coming home. Kristin and Jason were so welcoming. They kept us updated before we arrived, and left a nice card for us, a lovely (huge) fruit and cheese tray, and other lovely additions to help us celebrate our anniversary. We were so sad to leave! One week was not enough time. We will be returning to the chapel as soon as we can! Sandi and Jon San Diego, CA

Beautiful stay in Booth Bay

This is by far our favorite property that we have stayed in while visiting Maine and we have vacationed up and down the coast and the chapel is homey, comfortable and inviting. They provide you with EVERYTHING you may need. Thououghly enjoyed our stay👍

The Linekin Chapel is again fabulous!

We have stayed at the Chapel for many years and will do so again next year. As expected everything was beautiful and comfortable. The Dobbins are fabulous hosts and they always make sure everything in the Chapel is perfect!! Best: Candy & Bruce

Amazing & Unique

This property was the most wonderful and unique we have ever stayed at! It had everything, was spacious with an enclosed porch and a huge deck not to mention the large living area. It was FULLY stocked making it easy to relax and enjoy the space. We had everything we needed and then some. The porch was lovely for coffee in the morning with lots of reading material. The spaces throughout the property were perfect for relaxing. We loved our stay, it was perfect!

Heavenly house!

The Chapel is beautiful, comfortable and just surreal. The kitchen is seriously well stocked with everything you need as is the entire house. I lived in the sunroom and on the deck. Do walk down Samoset and King Phillips. You will thank yourself!

We wanted for nothing!

Our family of 5 had plenty of room to have privacy and yet, a common area for us to gather together. It was a perfect balance for us! All we could have needed in the kitchen, bath, games, towels, and even bikes were provided for us to use. We enjoyed cooking on the grill and playing in the sunroom each night. A beautiful experience was enjoyed from our entire family- teenagers included!

We had a lovely stay at this wonderful rental. The hosts were delightful and we felt very well taken care of. They supplied everything we could have needed. The location is perfectly situated near everything and was a peaceful retreat. We will be back!

This quaint little chapel provides all you need and more for a wonderful New England vacation.

From the interior to the exterior, this home is immaculate and spectacular. The wood trim, stained glass windows, meticulous decor and the amenities are outstanding as all vacation needs have been considered in this beautiful home away from home. You will enjoy having morning coffee and late night drinks in the sunroom. The deck allows for being with nature with beautiful breezes and a view of the woods as your landscape. If you forgot beach towels or a beach chair for the many bodies of water to visit, no problem. If the weather is inclement or you just prefer a day of relaxation, there are plenty of games and puzzles for you to enjoy. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy the gem of a home.

Wonderful place to stay

The Linekin Chapel is well-equipped and comfortable. Location is convenient to Ocean Point and Boothbay Harbor. Our hosts were responsive and we are so grateful for their hospitality. The accommodations were spacious and we were impressed by how well the property is maintained.

We live in the Midcoast area; we purchased the Chapel/Gallery in 2011 and fell in love with the Boothbay region. Jason is a Culinary Arts graduate from Johnson & Wales University; Kristin is a Family Nurse Practitioner. We want our guests to have a memorable vacation and enjoy the area as much as we do!
