When sunblindedness and a desire for an afternoon nap take over, retreat to “Ofunquit.” Perched on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Maine, nearly every room affords sweeping ocean views. Wake up in the master suite with a view of the Atlantic over your toes. A bunk room serves as headquarters for up to six kids. Two other spacious bedrooms feature queen beds, and a garden room with a twin bed doubles as a functional office space.

The kitchen boasts luxury appliances and finishes, including Wolfe stovetop and double ovens, a Nespresso, and a bar area with a faucet dispensing seltzer on demand. (There’s also a drawerful of takeout menus for those who choose not to cook on vacation.) The dining room seats 10 and is as equally suited for good-natured game nights as it is for leisurely meals. The well-appointed living and family rooms have ample seating and Frame TVs to allow you to finally binge those shows you have been meaning to stream.

For early risers, the sunroom and stone porch are the perfect spots to watch the sunrise. In the evening, these same spots provide views of summer fireworks in Ogunquit, Wells, and even Kennebunkport.

Other amenities include an electric car charger, a rainfall outdoor shower, and a fire pit at the foot of the yard so you can hear ocean waves crashing as you make s’mores. Pets, smoking, and unregistered guests on property are strictly prohibited. Violation can result in additional fees, immediate reservation cancellation, or both.
