The place was quaint, and the view from the kitchen window was marvelous. It rained the whole weekend we were there, so did not get a chance to explore the grounds. It was a little tighter in there than we thought. Marnie was responsive even during a family medical issue she was dealing with.

The host is very friendly and responds to messages great. Beautiful view out of alcove window.gorgeous Willow tree!Note: “Suite” is upstairs above hosts house.Stairs are a straight shot up with narrow treads. Bed is a full size . Room is great size. If you cook, bring staples.Nice place!Thanks Marnie!

I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this place. The apartment is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, cosy, and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, a lovely living room to relax in, and a very comfortable bed. The property is beautifully situated with stunning mountain views and access to a lovely garden. It’s also just steps from the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, making it a perfect base for enjoying the surrounding nature. Marnie is an exceptionally warm, welcoming, and hospitable host who made me feel right at home. I would happily stay here again.

It was wonderful to stay so close to town. It wasn’t too bad having to wait until we were present to put the AC units on, and I completely understand trying to save on energy costs. The owner was great at communicating and I appreciated being in contact as often as we needed so we could have the best stay possible. The view was amazing, and it’s so peaceful at the property. I would recommend the stay.

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Normally when guests give me an ETA I turn the a/c on for them an hour before their arrival time but due to an illness in the family I was unable to get home before your arrival time. Glad it didn’t inconvenience you.

Our stay here was an absolute delight. Marnie is a wonderful host, and it was an absolute pleasure to be her guest for a few nights. She was attentive and responsive.This guest suite is spotless and decorated in the most adorable fashion. The grounds are also absolutely stunning, with a hammock in the yard to relax on. The ACs are more than enough to cool the space. I stayed with two other people, two of us in the main bedroom and one sleeping on the mattress in the living room area. Our friend said the mattress was incredibly comfortable. We were very happy here, and would stay again if we could!!

Idyllic property and perfect little studio upstairs apartment for a weekend in new Paltz. Everything was as described. Marnie is lovely and her home is a sanctuary. Hopeful I can return and thankful for the peace and quiet. Bed was comfy. AC works fine and towels were like new. Loved!

We enjoyed our stay at the Cherry Tree Retreat in New Paltz!An amazing value, myself & my two adult children came for my nieces graduation at SUNY New Paltz and this house was in a great location, super close by to the campus!We loved this very quaint house on a gorgeous piece of property- it reminded me of the New England style beach house we used to visit from my youth. Great amenities- cute kitchen, fresh linens & lots of great mirrors to get ready & put on makeup/do hair. The host, Marnie, was very welcoming, kind, and available for any of our needs if we needed to reach out. Great communication! Highly recommend!

Great location!

This property has a great location convenient to town and country. I loved the Victorian cottage style decor. I was slightly confused about access to trails; thinking it would be more direct (from a walking perspective).

Nice surroundings and cute cozy cottagy quality to the little apartment above the owners apartment. TV,internet, copier comfortable bed, Old fashion lamp lighting added to the country feel. Easy access to New Paltz and Shawgunck MTS.

We went in August, the hottest month of the year and had limited usage of ac. Apt on 2nd fl and took over an hour to cool off. Owner offered to turn on ac prior to daughter coming in but that meant she helped herself to rental which we weren't comfortable with. Wish it had been explained from the beginning as daughter suffers from migraines & would've stayed at hotel w/ ac on all time esp in August. She does have a beautiful friendly dog.

This was billed as a cozy cottage on 8 acres. The photo showed a view of the lawn from the patio, which suggested it was on the first floor. It turned out to be an apartment on the second floor of the owner’s house. We are in our late 70s and early 80s. Climbing stairs is neither safe or desirable. It says it sleeps 4. One bedroom with a double bed and a futon in the living room. There were no sheets or blankets for the futon. I froze under a couch throw the first night. And the futon was only suitable for one person. I got bedding when I asked the next day. Also, had to ask for toilet paper as there was no spare roll. The outside steps were uneven and there was no handrail. Very disappointing.
