About You

Guest Interaction
I live locally in Orono, Maine, about 45 minutes away. The rest of the resort staff and I often work at the property during the day, but rest assured that your cabin and stay are entirely private. Our housekeeping and maintenance staff live nearby as well, should you need anything at all.

Guest Access
You have access to Fiddlehead Cabin, one of nine unique cabins at the Getogether Stays cabin resort. You have access to the waterfront of Toddy Pond. Kayaks are available for use, and stairs down to the water with a small beach to enjoy. Guests have access to the entire cabin and all shared amenities of the resort. Your cabin includes its own grill, fire pit, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs. Only the kayaks and the waterfront are shared. There are five different places to enjoy the waterfront between the nine cabins. Enjoy a morning paddle on the pond with our complimentary kayaks, gather around your fire pit in the evening, or relax on the dock with a good book. Free parking is available on the premises. Remember to be kind and considerate of your cabin neighbors who are also there to enjoy the serenity of nature. Quiet time is after 10 pm.

The Space

This newly remodeled Maine & Fiddlehead themed tiny cabin is nestled among the tall pine tree shoreline of Toddy Pond. The cabin is located in the back row of cabins, as seen on the map in the listing images. You will love this Fiddlehead themed tiny cabin! Tucked away in a 9-cabin resort on the beautiful gravel shores of Toddy Pond, you’ll have the opportunity to swim and kayak in the crystal-clear water, relax at the shady picnic tables beneath the towering pine trees, view local wildlife, enjoy at-home necessities, and easily access nearby towns! This is truly a special and unforgettable place! Bring your pets, we are very pet-friendly. You can escape the heat and cold in the cabin with the brand new central air conditioning and heating units.

This tiny cabin is 14x14ft wide and has one main room, a bathroom, a screened-in porch, and a yard. On one side, there is a 1 King Bed, 2 twin beds (bunks) and a 3rd twin bed that pulls out from under the bunks. A kitchenette and a small dining area with two chairs are on the other wall of the cabin. There is an attached and fully remodeled bathroom. The bathroom is small but equipped! Brand-new stand-up shower, toilet, and vanity. Out the front door is a marvelous screened porch with another dining table. Outside is a 6 ft picnic table, a fire pit, a gas grill, and plenty of Adirondack chairs for your group.

LINENS: We provide sheets, quilts, pillows, towels, hand towels, face towels, and beach towels

CONSUMABLES: We provide salt, pepper, oil, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, and hand soap. We ask that people bring their own personal hygiene products to their preferences (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothpaste, etc)

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: 1 King Bed, 2 twin beds (bunks) and a 3rd twin bed that pulls out from under the bunks.

KITCHEN: Fully equipped, electric cooktop and oven, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, cooking basics, dishware, utensils

INDOOR LIVING: Furnished bed areas, a small dining area consisting of a wooden table and two chairs

PORCH: Dining table with two chairs

OUTDOOR LIVING: Direct lake access via steep path and staircase to the water, private & expansive yard, fire pit for outdoor campfires (bring your own firewood), a gas grill, 6ft picnic table, Adirondack chairs, beautiful towering pine trees, abundant open space, ample sun and shade

GENERAL: High-speed WiFi, new heat-pump A/C and heat unit, hot shower, keyless keypad entry, linens, towels

PARKING: There is a large, shared gravel driveway. One vehicle is permitted for the Fiddlehead cabin. Parking is not directly next to the cabin. There is a spot to park and unload 50 feet from the cabin. From there, vehicles are moved to the parking lot, which is about 100 feet away. It is a steep hill down to the cabin from the unloading spot

ACCESSIBILITY: The resort is not the most accessible place for anyone with mobility challenges. There are no stairs to access the building from the path or inside the building. However, parking is on an incline and there is a ramp to the cabin entrance with a downhill slope from the driveway to the ramp. This is our most accessible cabin, though hills and stairs still exist to reach the water.

PETS: We are pet-friendly! We have simple pet rules: clean up after your pet (inside and outside the cabin), keep your pet leashed while outside at all times to avoid any issues with other pets, and do not leave pets alone in the cabins

Location Description
Fiddlehead Cabin is located in Orland, Maine. Right on the shores of Toddy Pond, you’re also less than 20 minutes from many beautiful coastal Maine towns and around 45 minutes to Acadia National Park.

Getting There
You'll want a car to explore the surrounding area, but you'll also have everything you need to enjoy a week right at the cabin. This area of Maine does not have a consistent ride-sharing service. If you need help coordinating transportation, let me know ahead of time. This cabin has enough room to park two vehicles.

Cabin was clean, nice area, and we enjoyed use of the kayaks. We were hoping for a cabin closer to the lake.

Hi Jim, thanks for staying. The cabin location and location amongst the other cabins is in the listing photos. There’s a map of all the cabins and the lake. This cabin is in the 2nd row of cabins, but still less than 150 feet from the lake.

We enjoyed our peaceful stay by the lake! There is easy access to the lake where we enjoyed kayaking. Kayaks are provided which is a bonus! We liked the location of the cabin. We explored Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Ber Harbor, and Schoodic Point. Communication with the host was outstanding ask well as the staff there. They provided us with a lot of suggestions as to places to visit.

The Fiddlehead cabin was better than we hoped. It was clean and cozy with all the amenities. The bathroom was small but it was clean and modern. The towels were so soft. The view from the porch was lo lovely. Our pups enjoyed walking the stone lined paths. The atmosphere was peaceful and everyone we encountered was very nice. The booking process and communication couldn't be easier. We will definitely return and I've already recommended it to everyone I talk to. Thank you for a great stay!

Fiddlehead Cottage

Short two night stay in this cozy and well appointed cottage. Eddie was great throughout the booking, check in and check out procedures. Beautiful area of Maine. We would certainly stay again if we find ourselves in this part of Maine again. Thank you for a great, comfortable and stress free stay!

Overall pretty good last minute stay at the Fiddlehead cabin. Easy access from parking lot to unload, however not right on the water. If you are looking for that go for lupine #1, then loon, moose, or buoy. Cabin is small. Pictures make cabin look much bigger than it is. Technically the cabin can sleep 5 people; there are 3 twin beds and one master bed, but it would be very cramped. If all you need is a place to sleep at night and otherwise you will be out doing things, then it will likely be totally fine. The kitchen area is a bit dark and there is not a light directly above the stove, but stove, microwave refrigerator, and freezer all work well. There’s not an area that is good for prepping meals so that may be a little difficult if you are planning to cook most of your meals at the cabin. Shower is small and short. If you are any taller than 5’5”, the showerhead will likely be below your head. However, there is a detached showerhead that you can use. Facilities are clean and quiet. You are on a hill at the cabin and so when trying to sit around the fire, we constantly felt like we were being tipped in our chairs. Cooking on the grill was difficult as it was on an incline as well. Very dog friendly which is worth its weight in gold! Pretty good location with easy access to a main highway to get to Acadia, schoodic peninsula, and other local sites. Similarly close to Bangor. Good communication with host. Decent price, considering how expensive it is to stay around Acadia.
