Perfect place to stop and stay when you need to break up a long trip. Very clean, just the right amenities (dishes, towels…). Large front porch to sit and relax while taking in the redwoods. Would definitely return!!

Great cozy little cabin, surrounded by trees so it’s peaceful & near a highway so very convenient. Only downside is no tv, but forces you to be present & that was a win. Would definitely come back here

Excellent cabin! It was a bit pricey, but the proximity to Jedediah Smith S.P. as well as the privacy from other cabins was worth it. There was some road noise from nearby hwy 197, but I've never stayed anywhere else that close to the redwoods where you couldn't hear the road, and it did die down quite a bit at night. The property and cabin was spotless. The host has done a great job of making it feel inviting and cozy!

My family loved this private and serene cabin on our road trip. We slept great and enjoyed the peaceful area and atmosphere of the cabin and enjoyed making a nice breakfast and dinner before headed to the redwood national state parks for a long day of adventures

The cabins were exactly what we wanted. A small cabin in the middle of the Redwood forest. Very peaceful and only a short drive out to town for any groceries needed.

The Fern Hook Cottage was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in the redwoods. The cottage was clean and had plenty of pillows, blankets and comfortable bedding. I enjoyed cooking in the small kitchen. The host responded to all my questions

My husband and I stayed at this location for a week and we loved it!! It was clean, had exactly what we needed, host was responsive and just a cozy spot to be. After a really long hike, we were thankful for a nice bathtub to soak in!! We would highly recommend!!

The cabin was very nice and very clean. We enjoyed the secluded feeling and the host was very responsive. I 100% recommend this property in the woods..

Great, quiet, clean place. We were close enough to the Smith State Park hiking trails that we hiked Boy Scout Tree and Stout Meadow in time to go back, take a shower and check out before 11:00. The only drawback is no wifi or TV. Bring a book or some games and you'll love it.

Cute modern cabinPerfect stop for us. Cabin was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a short overnight stop. There is some road noise but didn’t bother us at all, felt cozy in the woods.

I can't recommend Fern Hook more! It was the first stop on our trip- and the best stop! The cabins are secluded, private, clean, and cozy. We could see the stars at night, we were RIGHT next to the various Redwood adventures we had planned, and we had everything we needed for our stay. You can hear some noise from the road nearby, but it's not jarring. And the cabins have been excellently curated to feel extremely private. We could just barely see the next cabin over through the trees, but the view was mostly obscured by the forest and ferns and we felt like we were in our own little oasis of nature. Everything inside felt clean and cared for. 10/10 would recommend and would return!

This small cabin provided all kitchen essentials, bathroom supplies needed for a comfortable stay. Tucked away in the woods. Very private and peaceful.
