Wonderful stay in a historical landmark home

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: One of the Century of Progress homes in the 1933 World Fair, the cypress cabin has been beautifully renovated with all the modern day amenities, while preserving its old world charm. Spacious and comfortable, stunning lakeview in the sunroom, movie theater and gaming machines on the lower level, Indiana Dunes National and State parks nearby, we had a most relaxing and enjoyable vacation here.Super easy check-in and check-out, management is very responsive.

Beautiful home with a beautiful beach!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who loves nature and the water. The home is beautiful and just a short walk to your own personal beach. We were here for a girls trip for my 50th birthday and 11 of us fit perfectly. We are thinking of renting every year because it had everything you could possibly need or want! Would even be a great Friendsgiving or Christmas rental because of the views and windows.

The view of the lake was spectacular! The sunroom was inviting and relaxing. Sleeping for 12 people was possible, but if your group is all adults, check this aspect out carefully. Leasing agency was very prompt in responding to our concerns and needs.

Historical Charm, Modern Amenities, Right by the Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Extended family of 8, back for a second stay. Lake views, beach access, upstairs older part of cottage takes you back in time, while lower level has arcade games and theatre room. Perfect spot! It was not as well-prepped this visit as last (one bathroom hadn't been cleaned, skimpy on toilet paper & towels, sand on floor in places when we arrived, no salt/pepper or oil in the kitchen). The management company remedied the bathroom right away, and also helped clarify incomplete instructions on how to use the movie projector. These small annoyances didn't detract from our overall experience, but ought to be fixed for future guests.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house in this location just seems too good to be true. The house is spacious and has some lovely updates, while also keeping a lot of historic charm. The view of Lake Michigan is phenomenal. Chicago is even visible on a clear day. Very easy to walk down to the beach or get to hiking trails through the woods.

Two Days At The Cypress Log Cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I meet a friend and former coworker every year to visit a national park. This year it was Indiana Dunes. We had looked in the past at timing a trip so that we could (hopefully) go on the once-a-year tours of the five Century Of Progress homes in Indiana Dunes. Last fall, I was surprised to notice that you could actually rent the Cypress Log Cabin. In addition, it was a available for two days the same week as the 2026 annual homes tour. So we went ahead and booked the house Sunday 9/20/26 through Tuesday 9/22/26 and, luckily, were also able to get tickets for the homes tour that takes place on Saturday 9/26/26. In between, we explored the park, took the South Shore Line (train) to the Obama Center, and enjoyed the food and drink the area had to offer. The house is amazing. We could have sat in the sun room all day and just relaxed watching the Lake Michigan waves crashing into the shore. Although I am retired and have never had kids there is plenty for kids to do as well. You will have everything you need at the house, a grocery store is not that far away, and there are also some restaurants only a couple miles away. This was our 17th national park trip together and staying at the Cypress Log Cabin was one of the best decisions we ever made. Thank you!

Fantastic

Certainly not a place I’d like to see a lot of kids, but if you like historical properties with modern comfort this is a must. Beautiful views of the lake, mostly nestled away for privacy, and great sunrises and sunsets.
