This was a lovely place to spend a weekend getaway - clean, comfortable, and close to downtown while still feeling like we were able to unwind!

A wonderful and refreshing stay at the Blue Villa. Everything was so clean and we really appreciated all of the extras such as books a the hot tub. We hope to be back for our next trip to Decorah!

House and neighborhood were beautiful! Easy access to downtown without having to stay downtown was perfect! House was perfect for a small, adult weekend getaway. Communication and help from host was great!

Beautiful Home

We had a great time staying here, and the space was wonderful. The weather didn’t allow us to take full advantage of the hot tub, but it was great when we could get in there. We would definitely stay here again.

Coziest cabin

From the moment we stepped into this adorable cabin, we were impressed. It is so cozy, very clean, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay! It’s very close to everything in Decorah, and we especially loved going to the pool, the Whippy Dip, Mabe’s, and biking on the trail. This was the perfect place to stay while visiting grandparents!

Great location

It was a wonderful two bedroom home. It was set up for a relaxing getaway. Hot tub was a nice treat with a seating area. Lay out of the home was very accommodating for two couples.

We enjoyed our stay for a fishing trip. Everything was great but we did have issues with getting hot water. Messaged host the night of but didn’t get a response until the next morning and weren’t able to have a hot shower. Everything else about the house was great.

Relaxing!

Property was clean, adorable and full of amenities. Owner was responsive when questions were asked. Hot tub was amazing! Went with another couple, relaxing cozy space.

We had 11 people to house at both houses which was very doable because of their close proximity. We also liked the access to town and country with the location. The game room was a great alternative when weather omitted outside trips. The Blue Villa's decor was very woodsy/homey; loved it's relaxed vibe. The Main house's AC had trouble keeping up but otherwise was fine. One thing to add would be a pancake griddle of some sort.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and exactly as described in the listing. The space was comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed, making it feel like a true home away from home.The location was close to local attractions, restaurants, and shops, yet quiet and peaceful at night. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, clear instructions, and quick communication from the host. Check-in and check-out were seamless and stress-free.Whether you’re planning a relaxing getaway or a family trip, this place is a fantastic choice. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

A perfect place, centrally located, and lots to do in the Decorah area. The house had everything we needed, and it was very clean and comfortable. The hosts, Amy and Jackson, were very responsive, and check-in was effortless. I highly recommend this property. If you are adventurous, you can drive up to “Pikes Peak” State Park in McGregor, Iowa, with its breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. Or drive over to La Crosse, Wisconsin, for a paddle Boat ride on the Mississippi. There’s plenty to do in town, with a great variety of restaurants and shopping options.We are looking forward to returning in April.

The Best of Iowa

Staying at the Driftless Blue Villa is by far the best way of experiencing life in Decorah. Conveniently located near all the local attractions, the Driftless Blue Villa is itself cozy, romantic, and beautifully laid out with a gentle Nordic touch. Every convenience and comfort is abundantly supplied. It’s such a safe and wondrous place that all manner of local birds flock to the backyard and are readily visible from the windows. Amy and Jackson are the best, most responsive hosts you could ever ask for. If you’re visiting Northeast Iowa, this is the place to say.

The home is in a good location, beautifully designed and decorated in every corner, but usable shelf space is scarce in bedrooms and bathrooms especially. Hot tub was a nice feature and great way to relax. We had an elderly family member along who has limited mobility, and the main level bedroom/bathroom was a good option for them, though the bathroom could use a grab bar or two for even more accessibility. Mattresses are on the softer side (memory foam), which we found pretty comfortable, though the upstairs bed frame was a bit wobbly and needed adjusting. Kitchen was mostly user-friendly, but we found the coffee maker to be fussy and slow to brew/drain properly. Overall, the home was a nice landing space for us during a busy weekend in town, on a quiet road with green space around it, and birds coming to the feeder.
