Tusen Takk is Norwegian for "a thousand thanks". Our wish for your visit here is for time to relax and remember what you are thankful for and what makes your life good.

We are a bright red home located on a side street, just 4 blocks from downtown. We offer 3 bedrooms, large living and dining areas, a sweet patio spot and a fenced in yard. Start up the fire pit and share your stories around the flames. Walk downtown to your favorite coffee place and enjoy this charming town.

Easy to find everything we needed except we did not find a spatula. Easy to use thermostat. The house was nicely decorated and living room sofa and chair very comfy. We used all the throw blankets too.

Nice place to stay. Only having bathroom downstairs was a bit of a drawback but that’s how it is. Very spacious downstairs- a nice place to chill out in. Nice to have coffee provided. Good to be able to walk downtown

Luther College Friends from 1971

We were impressed about how spacious the house was as the photos made it seem smaller. That was a great surprise! We all loved the house and location. The only drawback was one bathroom (altho spacious) for four 76 year old women. We also would recommend a wastebasket with a lid for the bathroom and would request bottled water due to the elevated Nitrates in the water. that has been reported in the newspapers.Thankyou!!

We had a great stay in Decorah at Tusen Takk. Janice was very quick to respond to my questions. The house was very clean, the location was absolutely great for a downtown walk when weather allowed (it was pretty humid). The house super cute, the beds were comfortable, and the window air conditioner kept the upstairs cool.

Clean, comfortable, and quiet

Very clean property in a town with so much to see and do! This property had everything we needed for our stay, including comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, and relaxing living space!

Pleasant place in heart of Decorah

We are friend group who came for biking in the area. We enjoyed our stay and the close location to Water street and shops/ restaurants The backyard patio was nice and home was comfortable and clean. Owners v responsive too highly recommend

Cute place close to downtown

Nice clean place. Had record player which was fun to use listening to some old records while hanging out. Would have been nice to have a bathroom also upstairs for those staying up there but not a big deal for both couple to share one. Owner communicated very well. Place was super clean with lots of little extras which made it special

Great Cozy Location

Lovely place to stay for the price. Shower was finicky and wifi network wasn’t defined or maybe password was inaccurate. Don’t stay here if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. If you stay in the upstairs bedrooms, it’s a trek.

Great house with a convenient location for exploring downtown Decorah. Very clean. Well stocked with necessities. Comfortable beds. Hope to get the chance to book it again and explore more of Decorah.

Perfect!

This home was wonderful in every way- from a perfectly appointed kitchen, great decor, fantastic linens, a private patio, enclosed front porch and even a fire pit in the backyard! The hostess thought of EVERYTHING! We can’t wait to return and stay again!

Wonderful stay

My 3 friends and I had a wonderful stay in Decorah and Tusen Takk was a big reason it was so wonderful! The home is very clean and comfortable. We walked downtown for everything and felt very safe in the neighborhood. We definitely recommend staying here for your visit!

Very nice little house, super clean, great people

This is a small house with one bedroom downstairs and an attic bedroom. We are both over 70 years old and the stairs to the attic were a minor challenge. The home is immaculate and communication was perfect. Would not hesitate to stay there again
