ISLAND DOG COTTAGE IS A1960'S TWO STORY LARGE FAMILY BEACH HOUSE BRIMMING WITH BRIGHT BEACHY COLOR! LOCATED ON THE OCEAN BLOCK WHICH IS BEACH SIDE OF BUTLER AVENUE WITH NO ROADS TO CROSS . AN EASY WALK TO THE BEACH AT TENTH STREET. WE OFFER A FENCED YARD AS WELL AS A ROOMY WRAPAROUND SCREENED PORCH PERFECT FOR YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY! THE OPEN FRONT PORCH OFFERS ADIRONDACK CHAIRS TO SIT AND TAKE IN THE BEACH BREEZE! WHILE THE COTTAGE IS IDEAL OF LARGE FAMILY AND/OR FRIEND VACATIONS AND GETAWAYS WITH 2 LEVELS AND SEPARATE ENTRANCES, IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ACCESS BETWEEN THE FLOORS IS VIA EXTERIOR STAIRS; NO INTERIOR STAIRS OR ACCESS BETWEEN FLOORS FROM INSIDE THE COTTAGE. Front deck with seating . DOG FRIENDLY! Multiple dogs welcome! . 4 houses from the beach.

The main level of Island Dog Cottage offers three bedrooms; 1 king bedroom, 1 queen bedroom and twin bed in the third bedroom. The main level also includes a comfy family room, dining area, and full kitchen.

The lower, ground level of Island Dog Cottage features one additional bedroom with a double bed and a twin bed. There is a half-bath on this level (combination half-bath and laundry room). There is also a "Tybee must-have" - an outdoor shower with hot and cold water which offers privacy for getting rid of the daily beach sand after a fun day at the beach.
The lower level also includes a nice area for guests to gather with abundant seating and storage areas.

Very clean. Short walk to the beach. Great place for anyone with dogs. I highly recommend anyone with dogs and short distance.

The property is excellent for pet-friendly rentals. The decor is delightful; the house itself is spacious with an amazing screened wraparound porch. Fenced yard for the dogs was very convenient. House was clean and well-maintained. Small but well equipped kitchen. The gas grill was fully functioning but was in need of cleaning/scraping. All 6 of us, ages ranging from teens to much older grandparents thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house. So did the 2 dogs!

Amazing Beach Getaway

The Island Dog Cottage was the perfect group stay for 8 people. Amazing screened-in patios and had everything you need, from beach chairs to cooking supplies. Short walk to the beach. Great location and Mermaid Cottages were always available.

We Love Island Dog!

The Mermaid Management team is professional and very responsive to guests’ needs. Had an AC unit glitch and Diane, Jennifer and co were amazingly helpful and resourceful (and fast) trouble shooting and rectifying the situation! Would definitely recommend the house and Mermaid Cottage rentals for your next beach vacation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect low key, zero stress beach trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time using Mermaid Cottages and I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. Mermaid Denise and Jennifer were so helpful with checkin and check out and communicative during the stay. When the original house that we had booked sold unexpectedly about a month before our booking, Denis managed to get us into a house less than a block from the beach during the busiest time of year and the transfer of the reservation was seamless. The house itself was perfectly situated and adorable- it looked like it was right out of Gilmore Girls with great wifi speed for keeping on top of work and streaming. We are so pleased with our family vacation and will be coming back for sure.

The cottage was in great location, beautiful decor, very relaxing screened porch, and just overall great! We’ve rented from Mermaid Cottages for over 14+ years and we’ve loved every cottage that we’ve rented. The Mermaids make you feel like family. Can’t wait to plan our next Tybee trip.

Great Family Getaway!

The home was decorated in cute beachy decor and offered plenty of seating both inside and out—perfect for a large family. We especially loved the screened-in porch for relaxing in the evenings. The separate bedroom and half bath on the ground floor were ideal for our daughter and son-in-law, giving them some extra privacy. It’s just a short walk to the beach, and we really appreciated the outdoor shower for rinsing off. The fenced area was perfect for our fur babies. Communication with management was excellent—friendly and responsive.

Spring Break

We love the house and the accommodations for our dogs. There was plenty of room and it was a great house. I will advise anyone to be super clear they understand the Tybee island rules about parking, dogs and golf carts. They love to give tickets. After a long drawn out process of getting it registered, we were given no instruction or indication of the designated Crossing points. Turns out if you have a golf cart, you can’t park it at this house because here is no access point to that side of the road for crossing and it leads to a 300 fine. We love Tybee and the house was amazing. Just find someone with “correct” information that works for Tybee and get a clear understanding of “all the ways” they can write tickets.

We are so glad you loved the cottage! Yes there are very strict rules on the golf carts since it is a US Highway. The rental cart places won't rent to anyone staying beach side of Butler. Wherever inspected your personal cart probably just made sure you were legal and did not ask where you were staying. We hope to see you again! the Mermaids
