Awesome Deer Lake Cottage 5 minutes from Boyne City for family fun!

Our family cottage is perfect for a Northern Michigan get away. Located on Deer Lake 5 minutes from Boyne Mountain, our 4 bedrooms, 3 pull out couches, 1.5 baths and 1850 sq.ft provide an amazing family experience. The lakeside family room has two 6' sliding glass doors and a wood burning fireplace if we have chilly nighys. Enjoy amazing star filled skies and bonfires by the lake. There are trails for hiking, mountain biking and and we are 5 minutes from Boyne Golf Course.

Super fast / stable wifi makes working from the cottage easy... bring the kids and work as needed.
Master bedroom features a king sized log bed. Two additional bedrooms have queen sized log beds. The bunk room is an great spot for the kids with a log bunk bed, full sized on the bottom and twin on the top. The room also has a twin day bed and a pull out couch. Perfect for adults as well.
We are a 5 minute drive to the Boyne Mountain Main Lodge and situated right on the Deer Lake. Beautiful sunsets on the water.. We have a gas grill on the deck for year round grilling... The fully stocked kitchen makes meals at the cottage easy.

Wonderful location on Deer Lake. Being able to use the kayaks and row boat on the lake was a big plus. Great communication with the owner of the property.

Glad you enjoyed your time up north. We are super close to Boyne, so it makes it easy and convenient to get to the slopes. Hope you had some good fires in the fireplace as well. Thanks for renting!

This place is actually more beautiful than it looks in the photos! The backyard facing the lake is absolutely stunning during the sunset hours. The firepit is nicely placed for a late evening campfire. There are ample stuff in the kitchen. The bedrooms, living room and dining area are perfectly stocked with items you would need. It is definitely worth its price. I would rebook if I am coming to Petosky area again. The host is very warm and responsive in chat too. 10/10 in my ratings.

Thank you so much. It is hard to capture that lake sunset and do it justice. The reflection on the lake is amazing! Glad you could enjoy the firepit as well. Can't beat Michigan summers and Boyne City and Petoskey have so much to offer as well. Glad you enjoyed it! Come back anytime.

So glad you enjoyed it. It is a winter wonderland... when the weather cooperates! Super close to winter activities and the fireplace makes for a great place for those who don't want to brave the cold.

Our family stayed here during the summer. The owner was very friendly at check-in and available if we needed anything.The best part of this rental is the location.It is close to Boyne City and Petoskey, and the waterfront view is beautiful. We also appreciated the fire pit by the water, kayaks, paddle boat, game selection, large dining table, well-stocked kitchen, and plenty of towels and blankets. The water is very shallow far from shore, which makes it better for young children than for swimming.The house was clean but is quite dated and could use updates such as fresh paint and new flooring\.The bunk room was the biggest issue\. All three mattresses were very worn with springs poking through, making them uncomfortable\. No one in our group was able to sleep there after the first night\. The room also needs curtains, a dehumidifier, and the view is of a cluttered area with trash and items stored outside\.This is also a very bug\- and spider\-prone property\. We understand that comes with an older home in a wooded setting, but there were spiders and webs in the bunk room on arrival and they quickly appeared throughout the house during our stay\.The bathtub drained poorly and became slippery, and the dryer was very loud and squeaky.Overall, the location, views, and outdoor amenities are excellent\. However, if comfortable beds, updated interiors, or a low\-bug environment are important, this may not be the best fit\. We enjoyed the setting but wouldn't stay again.

The location, the lake and the property are the highlights of our cottage. I know you were there during the most humid time of the summer and I have added a dehumidifier to the cottage. Lake front property is heaven to spiders outside and we spray the cottage often with water to eliminate them. I hesitate to spray chemicals because we are so close to the water. I will take a look at the twin mattresses in the bunk room. I have not had complaints, and the previous renters rated it 10 so.... There is a no-slip bath matt in the laundry room that could have been used. Some renters like it and some don't so we don't leave it in the bathtub all of the time. I will make sure I add that info to the property description. Thank you for renting!

House was great for 5 adults. Had everything needed to cook whatever you wanted. Close to stores if you needed something and the scenery was astonishing. Would love to rent here in the summer some time.

The lake was beautiful, my kids and I loved taking the row boat out or just swimming in the lake. My whole family enjoyed their stay!

Wonderful cabin extremely close to the mountain!

Adorable cabin that was very cozy. Had everything we needed! Short drive to the mountain off main roads. Would absolutely stay again.

Our family lives full time in downtown Plymouth, Michigan. We love our getaway in Boyne during the winter months and summer. We try to get up 1-2 times per month and rent the other week-ends. Our two boys grew up skiing in the winter and wake-boarding in the summer.

Sunsets on the lake are spectacular.. and then come the stars! We have a big bonfire pit with log benches.. We provide kayaks, a rowboat and a canoe for your lake pleasure. Lots of swimming, fishing and good old fashion lake fun!! We are close to wineries for fall wine tours as well.

For winter sports enthusiasts we are 5 minutes from Boyne Mountain Ski Resort for skiing, skating, tubing, cross country skiing and more!

We are a five minute drive to the main ski lift at Boyne Mountain, Avalanche Bay and the Boyne Mountain Grand and all it's amenities. The cottage is situated in a beautiful peaceful setting while being 20 minutes from Petoskey and or Gaylord for shopping... 24 hours Meijer's ... and less than 10 minutes from downtown Boyne City.
