'Acadia Haven' - The peaceful side of Bar Harbor, by lovely Acadia.

A wonderful spot for a restful, quiet getaway. Expansive windows in this clean, recently-built 2-bedroom home offer near and distant views peeping through the lovely mixed pine, fir and maple woods that offer peace and privacy. Relax into the comfy furniture on the lawn - choose sun or shade. Pick handfuls of native wild blueberries from your own blueberry field!

There are 2 cheery bedrooms, one with queen bed, one with double bed. 1 full bathroom and 1 half-bath will comfortably meet all your needs. The Living room is sunny and cheerful with lovely views into the woodland. The kitchen is fully-equipped with cookware and tableware for your own Down-East lobster bake! 8' tall terrace doors bring in lots of light, and just outside is a Weber gas barbecue grill, outdoor table, chairs and umbrella. Appliances include range top, countertop convection oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, washer/dryer, TV with DVD player.

All bedroom and bath linens are provided. Feel free to roast marshmallows over a campfire in the nearby firepit.

This beautiful cottage was the perfect headquarters for our trip to Acadia! It was clean, quiet, cozy, and within 15 minutes of everything on Mt. Desert Isle! We lived being away from the crazy traffic of Bar Harbor. And the hosts have a beautiful property and garden! Our kid loved the upstairs "lookout tower". If we ever make our way back downeast, we'll look to stay here again!

Location was outside the hubbub of Bar Harbor but close enough for quick trips over if the mood stuck us. The excellent Atlantic Brewery is just down the road paired with good BBQ and lots of outdoor seating. The rental itself would be best for a small family or no more than two couples. It is intimate, cozy and quiet. Well set up for cooking for 2-4. Hosts are friendly. A great rental experience.

Acadia Haven was a wonderful place to stay for our week of visiting Acadia National Park. The home is in a quiet, wooded setting and had everything we needed and more. There were plenty of brochures and reading material available to help plan our days. It was only 10-15 minutes to most things that we wanted to do. Because there were only two of us, we didn’t use the upstairs bedroom but it was so charming with lots windows and window seats. Like a getaway during your getaway. The owners were available and responsive to any questions we had. Staying at Acadia Haven made our vacation extra special.

Great place to stay on the "quiet side" of Mt. Desert Island, which we prefer. The cottage had plenty of room and was well furnished. The Demers were good hosts.

Family trip

Our family of 4 enjoyed the quiet of Acadia Haven. Close enough to be easy access to the National Park and Bar Harbor but far enough to be away from the hustle and crowds. Our kids loved the room upstairs.

A Perfect Mix

Clean, comfortable and spacious for the three of us. A quiet location, but essentially 15 minutes from everything on the island. Perfect!

Check this place out!!

This property was centrally located to all attractions. It was a whole house in a beautiful, woodsy, quiet setting, well stocked with everything you could possibly need during your stay there. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

The house was clean and quiet! Loved that it had laundry facilities, but did not love that there was not a dishwasher.

Perfect tranquility

Peaceful and lovely home in the setting of surrounding woods. Steve was an amazing host! Responsive and quick to make sure we had whatever we asked for. Perfect location to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Super host!

Acadia stay August 2024

We enjoyed our stay very much. The sunroom was our favorite room. The house was great for the most part. There were a few minor items that needed attention like window shades and toilet seat but overall this was a great place to stay to be close to all the sights and shopping in Bar Harbor/Acadia.

A Perfect Base to Launch Your Acadia Adventure

The cottage is bright and airy; beautiful custom construction awaits you inside. A wonderful spot to return to after a day outdoors. A good vacation lodging is not be the star of the show but should subtly enhance your holiday. Acadia Haven does just that. As a bonus Steve and Rose are lovely hosts.

Review

Steve was great to deal with. The property was clean, bright, and quiet. It's a 12-minute, easy drive to Bar Harbor, that allows you to avoid the in-season crowds, while providing access to restaurants and shopping.

Nice stay

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home, It was a nice quiet area back in the woods. It was located not to far from Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and very close to Acadia National Park. We loved driving around looking at the gorgeous fall foliage and visiting the local sho ps and great restuarants. Helen's was our favorite! Sincerely Rob and Debbie Stuck Randy and Sandy Sherwood

A wonderful cottage for your Acadia adventures

This was the 3rd year we returned to Steve and Rose's lovely cottage. We have already made our reservations for 2022. That tells you how much we value their tranquil, airy, and light-filled cottage. After returning from a day of activity you will enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Steven and Rose are gracious hosts.

Great location-remote but close to Bar Harbor and Acadia

The "cottage is probably a half mile off a major road. Road to the cottage goes through the forest. Far enough off road that no road noise. The owners...Rose and Steve in the "Main House" only a minute away. Woods just behind the cottage. Picnic table with umbrella and gas grill just outside.Lots of windows so nice views. About 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and Park entrance....so remote cottage setting but neighbors nearby.... but close to everything.

Quiet, comfortable, and relaxing

We spent much of our time in the cottage, since the weather was dreary and we were not feeling well. The place is very relaxing and has many amenities that added to the experience - organ, books, and games, sunroom, etc. We were initially perplexed by the mini counter-top oven, but were able to make nice meals and now want one of our own. The downstairs bed was very comfy, and the shower was hot and powerful. We can imagine how beautiful the gardens will be in the summer. We traveled with our 18 month old. After a bit of babyproofing, the upstairs bedroom was perfect for his play and naptimes. We look forward to coming back again.

House was quiet and in the woods feeling. We enjoyed the fire pit and firewood was furnished for one night but there were plenty of firewood sellers along the highways to buy more. Toiletries were minimal. Might bring your own. It was warm during our visit and black fly season evidently. Screens on the upstairs windows would be helpful to keep that space cool. It was pretty warm upstairs. It was located very well in relation to visiting the park and Bar Harbor
