Charming Platt Park Urban Getaway: entire 4 BR home
Located in the in-demand Platt Park neighborhood of Denver, this lovely 3-story home boasts 4 bedrooms including a king, full, bunk, and queen bed. With 3 bathrooms, guests will feel right at home. The additional basement living room space with a murphy bed provides extra comfort for a soothing stay. A great place to call homebase while you're away, we hope you enjoy your stay.
LOCATION, location, location! Our home is 5 blocks east of the S Pearl Street historic shopping district and 3 miles south of downtown (via car or RTD Lightrail train), 1.5 miles from the nationally acclaimed Cherry Creek Shopping district and four blocks south of Washington Park, the most popular park in Denver, a 165 acre park with 2 lakes, paddle boats, gravel running path, gardens, tennis courts, volleyball, etc! There are loads of restaurants, shopping boutiques, parks, playgrounds and a light rail station within walking distance. We are one hour from the popular mountain towns (like Breckenridge, Dillon, etc), and there are many mountain parks in the foothills for hiking and climbing.
There is a bike path close by that takes you along the river NW to downtown, SE to Cherry Creek reservoir and SW to Chatfield reservoir. For great bicycle options for exploring the Denver area search for "B Cycle Denver" on the web to learn about this great bike rental program. There are more than 500 bikes in 52 different locations with the closest being only a few blocks from us. The best part is that you can leave them at any of the 52 different locations and return by Light Rail if you like.
OUR HOME

This is our real, everyday home, rather than a rental property used only for VRBO. We leave it immaculately clean for our guests with ample space for luggage in each closet, dresser, and bathroom. You will find condiments in the fridge, lots of warm stuff for your trips to the mountains, toys for the kiddos, and staples in the the pantry. Help yourself to anything that will enhance your stay, and enjoy living in our home!
Main Floor:
- Newly remodeled kitchen with modern stainless steel appliances, gas stove and oven, central island with seating for 6, and granite countertops.
- Dining room with lovely table that seats 8 comfortably (10 with a squeeze)
- Living room with working gas fireplace
- Bedroom #1: full bed, spacious closet, desk.
- 3/4 Bathroom with lovely pedestal sink and shower
- Bedroom #2: twin bunk beds, antique dresser, loads of shelving.
Second Floor:
- Master bedroom with king sized pillowtop sleigh bed, desk near large west window overlooking beautiful old trees, window seat, walk-in closet, 2 large dressers.
- Master bathroom with vanity, deep two person soaking tub with jets, shower and private water closet. The far end of the bathroom has front-loading large capacity laundry machines and a spacious counter for folding and sorting laundry.
- Office: attached to master bedroom. spacious desk and small closet.
Basement:
- Bedroom with queen bed
- Fully furnished and comfortable living room: sectional sofa, 50" flat screen smart TV, recliner, queen murphy bed, kid toys (discreetly put away - we do not have kid clutter around our home)
-large, double-wide egress windows throughout all living areas.
Garden:
The front yard garden is a neighborhood favorite with full Xeriscape garden and large 100 year old Elms and Maples. We have a Little Free Library and a great front porch. The backyard will reward you with an amazingly intimate and elegant mix of large old trees, mature plants and perennial flowers. The deck easily seats 6-8 around our lovely outdoor table. We have a Weber grill hooked up to 24/7 natural gas - never run out in the middle of dinner!

All in all you will find our home and this location one of the best and most convenient ways to explore Denver and the surrounding mountains.

Hi there! We are Ann & Mike, and so excited to welcome you to our home. We are originally from Michigan but have been living in Colorado since 2001. We enjoy the city life of Denver as well as camping and hiking with our 4 kids.

For us, Platt Park is the sweet spot of Denver. Incredibly easy access to downtown, but in a chill residential area. Lots of great stuff within walking distance, and the friendlies neighborhood. We have lived in this location since 2007 and haven't found a place in Denver that beats it.

Unlike most rental properties, this is a real home to real humans. We want to give our guests the best of both worlds - the cleanliness and comfort of a vacation rental, with the amenities of a true home (sharp knives, usable cutting boards, condiments and cooking staples, toys for the kids, quality furniture and soft furnishings, you get the idea!). One of my biggest pet peeves is staying in a vacation spot and not being able to do even the simplest of tasks, like peeling a carrot, because it's clear no one has every actually USED the kitchen before!
