We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, beds were comfortable. The house has anything you would need. It is right near the train station but it didnt bother us at all. Thank you for the enjoyable stay.

What an awesome house! It’s filled with gorgeous antiques and dog-friendly and the host is so kind. The trains run by just across the street, which was pretty cool if you don’t mind the noise. The neighborhood cats are friendly and there are bowls outside if you want to give them a meal and a drink but don’t let them inside. Definitely go see Alice at Kirk’s for breakfast or lunch. She is thee sweetest little lady ever! All Aboard! There’s also a DQ with a riverview!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. We loved the big dining room table and played Mexican Train on it. The owner is attentive and goes above and beyond to please.we would gladly stay here again.

The host was very responsive which was helpful when I arrived. The house is beautiful, well-kept, and very thoughtful in amenities. Very fun location to see the river and watch trains go by. It’s also easy to walk to the downtown area. It felt like a home away from home.

Wonderful house to stay in for 3 nights as we spent the days hiking our way through New River Gorge National Park. The historic downtown section of Hinton was nice to walk through; there are several restaurants and shops we checked out and all of them were great. I should also mention that the house was so clean and well stocked, and my kids loved interacting with the friendly neighborhood cats on the front porch. Thank you to Carmen for providing us a place to make some wonderful memories. Hopefully, one day we will be back.

Ms Carmen was very helpful and patient with my lack of technical skills. Thanks again. We loved the place. We enjoyed the trains; never too noisy or frequent. Jukebox was so unique. Loved it. My granddaughter loved the friendly kitty. Everyone in town was friendly. We were attending my grand-niece’s Wedding. The weather was rainy and humid. No problem with all the ceiling fans and window air conditioners. Definitely recommend, and would love to visit again. More space/rooms than I expected.

Check-in was super easy. I received a message with the code and instructions a couple days prior to check-in. The kitchen was equipped with most things you would need.

Older house with charm but still has a nice TV and wifi. Jukebox and record player are cool. Plenty of neighborhood cats to greet you.

The host was quick to respond when we had a problem with a door lock. The historic house was perfectly appointed and close to downtown Hinton. Back patio a great place for nightcap and morning tea. Extra touches such as gifts of homemade soap and chocolates chip cookies were sweet. Providing extra plug in’s for phone, etc charging was very helpful. Towels were plush. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Great host and property!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this house! The historic charm - not only in the house, but also the whole town - was perfect for a history buff like myself. The house was cozy, charming, and clean. The host was welcoming, polite, responsive and helpful!I recommend visiting the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine in nearby Beckley (approx 45 min drive from the house) and the breathtaking New River Gorge National Park! There's also a charming little railroad museum and antique store located right in Hinton. We would 100% stay here again! Thank you!!

They have porch kitties and a bin of toys for a dog, though we didn't have pets with us. The location is convenient to shops in town but the house also had everything we needed to prepare basic meals, including spices/oils etc. A choice of porches to hang out on was unexpected. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room to move around. Considering it's an older home, the shower intensity was an initial concern, but in the end, it was just fine. The train station is right there, but having lived near a train for many years was not a huge concern. My husband/son didn't wake up once when the train went by at night and I ended up using hearing protection, which they provided, and slept soundly after that. Very attentive host. I recommend highly!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our time in Hinton and the house was great. We were able to walk through town from the house and explore the New river with a short drive to a public ramp. The weather was amazing with highs in the mid 70's during June with mornings that felt more like fall. The host was pleasant and prompt in communication and we had no issues with our stay, we would absolutely return.
