1 Bedroom Ocean View Condo F308 - Pono Kai

Pono Kai Resort is located on oceanfront/beachfront property. Our 1 Bedroom, third floor Ocean View condo has a fully equipped kitchen, 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom. The bedroom has a King-sized bed. There is also a pull out queen sleeper sofa in the living room, fully stocked with linens, towels, kitchen utensils, and appliances.

The resort is located in the historic town of Kapaa, Kauai. You can catch the sunrise in the morning over the Pacific Ocean or even see whales during migrating season. The resort is within walking distance of restaurants, boutiques, shopping and grocery stores.

The bathroom is furnished with starter soap, shampoo and conditioner, along with a hair dryer. There is an iron and ironing board within the unit as well.

The Pono Kai Resort has many amenities on site. Tennis, basketball, exercise room, shuffle board, horse shoes, mini golf, cornhole, pickle ball, croquet court, board games, just to name a few. You can rent bicycles next door and we are located within 5 minutes from water activities such as; swimming, canoeing, kayaking, surfing, etc...

There are BBQ's located throughout the resort and coin laundry facilities located within each building except building K.

The Pono Kai is a great resort where you can truly relax and enjoy all that the Garden island of Kauai has to offer. Week at Pono Kai, Kauai

Wonderful resort with many outdoor facilities available. Located right across the bike/walking path from the ocean.Walking distance to restaurants and stores.

Fantastic view

We have stayed at the Pono Kai for many years. It is our only go-to place. Old but very well maintained. Located in Old Town Kapaa. Walk to shops and restaurants. Right on the famous bicycle path. Can’t go wrong.

Love how Hawaii should be the Garden island is the best.

Pono Kai is great. The central location in Kapaa works for us. .Our unit F105 still needs some updating but is very live able for the long term. N0t much sun on the lanai in Jan, Feb and most of March but the pool and beach are steps away.

Great view and quiet area

Everything was perfect except for the popcorn ceiling that kept flaking down into our food/drinks - we vacuumed often. It was very musty in the area we stayed but we’ve been here at this resort before and never had this problem. We did report the issue at the front desk and they said they would take care of it so hopefully all is good. This is one of our favorite places to stay since it is such a beautiful scenery and quiet area. The people are always very helpful and nice and accommodating here.

Great location next to beach

Nice suite with all the amenities we needed for 11 day stay. Well kept, nice beds, pillows and would definitely stay again. Only complaint (not with owner) is price listed on VRBO was in Can $, price charged in US $ which amounted to quite a bit more on final bill.

2 adult daughters and grandbaby

Perfect property for enjoying sunrises, beaches, long walks, small shops, without driving at all. Of course, we did drive to the various beautiful hikes and adventures. But would not be necessary, perfect rental property for a baby to walk out on grass and enjoy the chickens and nature.so relaxing . Saw beautiful sunrises from our living room and porch.

We absolutely loved our stay! So convenient to everything.

Everything from booking to the front desk to housekeeping to the unit itself was perfect. We are looking forward to going back! We love walking the long paved beach path, watching the sunrise, walking to local eateries, shave ice, and shopping. Communication with the facility is top notch. Everyone was very positive and kind. (Well, except the pool towel people - they must've had lots stolen and staff has to guard them. We felt they thought we would be future thieves as well. We decided to buy and bring our own quick-dry towels, to not have to deal with the towel sign-out desk. If you are an OWNER (diff colored wrist band), you can take one of the pool towels anywhere you want. If you are RENTing a unit, they guard their towels like mama hens, and you must turn them in before leaving pool area. Lol. Whatever.) Highly recommend Pono Kai.

Excellent accommodations. Room with beach/ocean view. Listing extremely accurate, all furnishings in good condition. Resort accommodations/provisions very good. Kitchen well-equipped. Owner very good in communication and recommendations for our trip.

Beautiful ocean view location

Having coffee or dinner on the balcony overlooking the ocean was amazing! Staff was friendly and attentive with any requests and lovely outdoor grounds too. My only reason for not giving the property 5stars was the inside was “tired”…with a well worn sofa (the arm rest was stitched with needle and thread) and kitchen needing a remodel. All and all, I wouldn’t mind staying here again as we felt that it was fairly priced with great views and friendly people.

The location in Kapaa is great! Walking distance to everything you need. The facilities are clean and in working order. Overall a great value for the cost.

Beautiful view and location. We were disappointed in the lack of kitchen items compared to all of the other condos we've rented. Meaning there is usually some spices, zip lock bags ect that previous guests had bought and left. Nothing in this condo. I did have very small ants that I killed on a daily bases. I didn't mark the condo down for it because I lived in Hawaii and am aware that this happens. We did make sure there was zero crumbs and food items on the counter but they visited anyway. The drawers in the dresser would not stay closed either, very frustrating. This is the first condo we've rented without laundry facilities in the condo. That we really didn't like but the owner/renter did advise us prior that the laundry facilities were not in the condo.

Great vacation

Relaxing Stay

This is the second time we have stayed at the Pono Kai in Kapaa. We returned for the beautiful ocean view, access to the walking trail, generous housekeeping, and the wonderful guest unit where we could store our luggage after check out and shower before our 11:30 p.m. flight back to the mainland. We loved the pool and hot tub. Although the sofa is not comfortable, it worked for me with the help of a couple of extra pillows.

This condo had everything we needed. Both the manager and the front desk were responsive and helpful. Great ocean view, and very close to the ocean front walkway, so that you can walk to dinner or coffee. We would stay here again!

Very convenient!

We stayed in unit F304, with a direct oceanfront view. The unit was nice and clean. Everything we needed for the kitchen and bathrooms were available, with towel service every other day. It was very windy and rainy on the east side of the island when we came, but the kids enjoyed the pool on the property. Plenty of other amenities were available to enjoy (tennis court, ping pong tables, croquet court, gym, sauna). Perfect location to walk to downtown Kapa’a and enjoy a stroll to shop. Our family of 4 had a great time. Would definitely recommend!

Great location

This was partial ocean view fro the deck, I would say it’s a garden view. This unit needs to be updated. The facility is in a great location, they keep it super groomed.

Would hesitate to rent this room.

The musty smell was terrible. Air conditioner was a nice feature but room smelled to bad to enjoy the space. Communication with Steve was unsatisfactory. Someone else did finally answer once. We had to leave the island early so only got to use the room for three days out of the two weeks we had planned. Pots, pans, cook ware was too limited to really fix a meal. Room was clean and neat.
