Welcome to Wind Rose – A Dog-Friendly Cabin Near Wisp Resort & Deep Creek Lake!

Escape to Wind Rose, our cozy, older 3-bedroom, 1-bath mountain home in the heart of Deep Creek Lake. While this isn't a brand-new luxury cabin, it's clean, comfortable, full of character, and in an unbeatable location, just 8 minutes from Wisp Resort, Deep Creek Lake, hiking trails, state parks, restaurants, breweries, and year-round outdoor adventures.

This is our family's vacation home, too, and we love spending time here. We hope you'll feel right at home while making memories with your family, friends, and four-legged companions.

After a day on the lake or the ski slopes, relax around the fire pit, stream your favorite movies on the 65-inch Smart TV, or enjoy dinner outdoors at the picnic table. The large driveway provides plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, boats, trailers, or snowmobile trailers.

Dogs are family here! We love dogs and believe they deserve a vacation too, so well-behaved dogs stay free, there are no pet fees.

As our guest, you'll also receive complimentary access to the CARC Recreation Center, just 8 minutes away, featuring an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and relaxing jetted spa.

Because Wind Rose is a cabin surrounded by nature, you may occasionally see insects, spiders, or other woodland critters around the property or, from time to time, find their way indoors despite our regular pest control and cleaning efforts. This is simply part of the authentic mountain cabin experience, and we appreciate your understanding.

We had a great weekend getaway at this cute little place in Friendsville. Easy access to Deep Creek and other trails. Our pup loved the fenced in property. This place had everything we needed for a great family getaway. Owners were super helpful with recommendations and check in and out processes. Will definitely come back!

We had a wonderful time staying here with our pup! They house was cozy, well maintained and really enjoyable for our family. We made s'mores at the fire pit, played Pac-Man and enjoyed the restful spot in between our adventures in dcl. Check in was easy and convenient, we only wish we had more time to stay!

The yard was a good size, especially for pets - the backyard was fenced. Great grill and balcony. The kitchen appliances were appreciated.

There were ants throughout the house. The bathroom was fairly dirty in the corners of the bathtub, and the bottom of the bath tub looked like it was rusting out. We spent a lot of time on the deck, which was in need of a lot of work. There were loose boards sticking up, gaps where there shouldn't be ( along the railing) and a railing on the steps was actually coming off with nails sticking out. We had to leave early due to a medical emergency and the host refused to refund us for the last two days. I'll be making a claim with the travel insurance. Don't spend your money here.

My wife and I enjoyed a long 4th of July weekend stay in this pet-friendly house near Friendsville. This property has a large fenced yard that we used as a run space for our dogs, a very well-stocked kitchen (large fridge, modern electric range, dishwasher, great coffee options, all the utensils and dishes you need for multiple meals, and a good set of staple spices and supplies), a newer gas grill, and a comfortable living room area with a big-screen TV. The location is great - 10 minutes from the amenities of Deep Creek Lake, 15-20 to nearby parks and small towns further north. Communications with the owner were terrific and she provided us with some great hiking recommendations. Bedding and linens were very nice. Two things to be aware of if you book here: (1) the front yard is very close to a busy 2-lane road which carries a lot of high-speed traffic during normal hours; if you bring dogs or young kids, you will want to keep a close eye on them even if they're inside the fence. (2) The only AC is a standalone unit in the kitchen; it took about 24 hours to cool the house down, and the bedrooms remained quite warm all weekend. The owner provides several standing fans that helped a lot, and there are ceiling fans in the kitchen and master bedroom. I recognize we were renting on an unusually hot weekend, so this probably won't be an issue for 99% of renters, just keep the forecast in mind if you have trouble sleeping in the heat. All in all we really enjoyed the stay!
