Escape to a peaceful countryside retreat on 11 scenic acres near Gettysburg and Taneytown. Originally built in the early 1900s as the farm’s summer kitchen, the property blends historic charm with modern comfort for a quiet and relaxing getaway. As a lovingly restored historic structure, the cottage retains some original character and architectural quirks from the early 1900s, including lower ceilings and narrow stairs.

The cottage is especially suited for couples seeking a quiet, restorative countryside escape. Spend the morning walking the mowed trails around the property, enjoy coffee while watching the sunrise over surrounding farmland, then unwind in the evening with sweeping sunset views toward the mountains and peaceful countryside skies. On clear evenings, the property is also ideal for stargazing and quiet nights outdoors. Guests also have access to tennis and pickleball courts, a golf chipping area, and scenic open space throughout the property.

Conveniently located near Gettysburg, Frederick, local wineries, hiking trails, golf courses, and wedding venues, the cottage offers both quiet seclusion and easy access to regional attractions.

Super Cute and Relaxing Get Away. Beautiful landscaping, nice and cozy home. No problems at all. This as our forst VRBO stay as we usually stay in Hotels. We will definitely be back as our youngest lives in Taneytown. This ome has every single thing you may need. Bed is very comfortable very nice TV we were able to watch some Football on. Best stay weve ever had Anywhere!!! Thank you so much Bert & Renee. We will be seeing you very soon!

This is place is a hidden gem. It's incredibly clean and an attention to detail that was quite impressive. The host made it easy to communicate and was quick to respond to any questions. The location is close to some great nature sites as well. I highly recommend this place if your in the area.

Very clean property. The house was nicely decorated. Beds were comfy. All the items provided were of good quality- good coffee, soft towels, bamboo toilet paper to name a few. There was even a bag of Otterbein’s chocolate chip cookies! A nice touch! The property is about 25 minutes away from Gettysburg, PA.

The house is just as described and was clean and maintained. Massaging with the host was easy and quick. Good location for exploring the many things in Maryland. We would definitely stay here again.

This beautiful, peaceful farmhouse was the perfect weekend getaway! Not only was the home adorable, it was super comfortable in every way. The owners took great care to think of everything their guests would need to feel well taken care of and at home. Everything was spotless. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. Highly recommend!

The farmhouse was as described: Very clean, had everything you needed. Bed was very comfortable. Nice & relaxing after spending the days in Gettysburg. Beautiful area & only 30 minutes from Gettysburg & the battlefield. The stairs are a bit steep but no problem if you take your time & go slow. I’m 76 & had no issues with the stairs.

It was a very nice little "mother-in-law" house. Nice parking with a short paved path to the house. A single step into the home. It was very clean and actually quite roomy. The bedroom and bathroom facilities are both upstairs. Those stairs would be the only slight issue as they are narrow and steep. A little hard to get large luggage up and down. Upstairs - At the top of the stairs is a nice sitting room. The bedroom is quite spacious with a queen-sized bed. They have a multi plug outlet (with USB) right next to the night stand which makes charging your phone and other electronics easy. The restroom while not large is roomy enough to get around easily with a shower/bathtub combo. Downstairs - All the appliances are modern with a full size refrigerator. Beautiful dishes and cookware. Large screen TV with a big sectional. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Such a peaceful location and beautiful accommodations, a rare combination to find. The farmhouse and surrounding grounds are as described, very serene and tastefully decorated. The thought and detail put into both the decor and furnishing were excellent. Anything one may need while traveling was included. The appliances were all new and great quality and as were the towels and linens. We will be looking into purchasing a Nija coffee maker as that was first time we had used one of them. We were able to make use of the Pickleball/Tennis Court during our stay which was an added bonus. The location was ideal as we were visiting friends in Gettysburg and Hanover in PA, as well as Westminster and Taneytown in MD. We will certainly look into renting this property again on our travels north. Thanks so much for having us and allowing us to share your farm, as well as your dogs (friendly as can be)!!
