This beautiful house had everything: a beautiful view, the huge, quiet swimming beach, a gorgeous balcony to watch sunsets and rockets take off (yes! Vandenberg Space Force Base is close, we saw two launches); and many other pleasures. It was the perfect getaway, with high temperatures were in the 70s (when the rest of the state was in a heatwave.) Bedrooms were awesome. Mary, the perfect host, came by when we were checking us in and walked us through the many amenities: about half a dozen ready-to-ride bikes in the garage, with helmets available and a bike path one block away; washer/dryer; big-screen TV with Apple TV, Hulu and many other services (MLB baseball!); a stereo that quickly connected to my iPhone; sunning balcony; and what a kitchen! This is the place to go if you like to cook: a huge island in the middle, with sink; every dish, pan, pot, knife that any recipe calls for; all the standard ingredients and lots of exotic ones (such as, 7 kinds of vinegar!); microwave, 3 ways to make coffee, and high-end gourmet gear: convection oven, regular oven, and tons of specialty equipment (examples: Cuisinart ice cream maker, KitchenAid commercial blender, Bosch dishwasher, and outside, a Big Green Egg grill.) A big skylight makes for a sunny, cheery kitchen with a counter where friends can hang out, but not be in the way. A short walk away is Zachari Dunes, which has a sweet restaurant that's partly outdoors, but in the shade! Book this home, you will have no regrets.
