We had a lovely time on the private island- a unique and beautiful place. Enjoyed sunset on one porch and sunrise on another. And very convenient to historical sites, great dining, and fun activities. Hope to return someday.

Loved the property it was amazing!!!! The owners were very easy to talk to and very helpful especially during a nor’easter!! Wish our stay could have been longer!

This was a quiet private cottage with great views of the York River. The Property and House is in need of some updates but worked well for our family visiting the Historical Triangle. The Host was a great communicator and was helpful with our planning. We wish we had more down time as the Island offered much more than the great views. We seen Bald Eagles, Dolphins and plenty of local wildlife...

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! It was truly amazing and felt just like home from the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for a place that is peaceful, relaxing, and tranquil, this is definitely the place for you! Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we were so sad to leave.We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. A delightful island cottage with beautiful views of York River. The place was pet-friendly as our 2 fur-babies were welcomed. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cottage, along with the sights and sounds of the local wildlife. The cottage was clean with comfortable furniture and well-equipped kitchen. The front porch and back deck were just perfect for sitting, enjoying the breezes, and watching the views of life on the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend renting this cottage. We do plan to try to return next year.

The cottage was just what we needed for a week with our 2 grandsons. It was well equipped and very comfortable. We enjoyed visiting all the historical sites nearby and were able to also enjoy the cottage and its surroundings while resting. Mike was a big help with instructions on bait fishing and crabbing, which was a lot of fun and successful!

The property had spectacular 360 degree views of the river. We enjoyed everyday of our stay and finished the final day with a family reunion cookout. It was the perfect finish to one of the best vacations ever. Thank you again Donna and Mike for letting us use your home.We will definitely be back soon.

Everything was clean and tidy. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, and we found everything we needed.The views were excellent and we had a lovely time with family.

Location is excellent for a peaceful, quiet, wonderful view and so many beautiful birds to watch. We had a girls’ crafting weekend and enjoyed the large sitting room surrounded by windows. If all adults are staying, it’s good to know the room with a bunk bed is not necessarily an adult bunk bed, but we made it work. The host was very accommodating and communication was excellent. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!

This house is quirky and wonderful. We loved the old part of the house, complete with a small boat in the living room ceiling! Wonderful things to look at all over the house. The new part of the house has large windows and doors for viewing the York River as the tide ebbs and flows. We loved watching the birds fish for their dinner. We had a snowy egret and a blue heron as well as many other birds. The crabs were fun to watch pop in and out of their tunnels. The kitchen has every appliance and pot or pan you could possibly need. Beds were comfy, and fans kept the air circulating. AC worked well, too. Was very close to all the local sights.
