Beachfront House on James River. Near Historic Jamestowne and Williamsburg

Weekly discount rates (7 nights).

Our waterfront house sits on a bluff overlooking the James River. You will have the privacy of a house and will be directly across the river from Historic Jamestown and Williamsburg. You can see Historic Jamestown from the house.

The free Jamestown Ferry belongs to the VA Department of Transportation and runs every 30 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to cross the river, and the ferry dock on this side is one mile from the house. When landing at Jamestown, Williamsburg is 6 miles straight down the road, and it takes about 15 minutes to get to Busch Gardens. Yorktown is a little beyond Williamsburg. A ferry schedule is provided at the house.

The James River here is tidal water and is clean. The tide comes in and goes out slowly, so it is great for children to play in. It is partly salty and partly freshwater. There is not a drop-off.

There are no houses behind the house, only fields and woods. You will have your privacy.

You will find the house very clean, as mentioned in many of our reviews.

Free high-speed wireless internet is provided.

Two kayaks (one single and one double), a paddleboard, and adult's and children's life vests are provided. Also provided are beach chairs, beach umbrella, and beach towels.

Coffee maker (with filters, coffee, sugar, creamer), dinnerware, silverware, glassware, cookware, utensils, cooking utensils, paper plates and cups, paper towels, toilet, napkins, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, baggies, cooking oil, dish detergent, dish towels and cloths,

Tide, dryer sheets and trash bags are provided.

The bathroom has a walk-in shower. Hair dryer, towels, wash cloths, hand soap, toilet paper, and first aid kit are provided.

In the backyard there is a gas grill ready for your barbecue.

The living area has YouTube TV and Amazon Prime. One bedroom has a DVD player; DVD's provided.

There is an electric fireplace in the living area.

All of the bedrooms are equipped with bed linens (beds made), extra blanket, clock, and flashlight.

We had a wonderful stay at this secluded, quiet home. The scenery was beautiful and the home was impeccably clean. I say secluded, but it's only 5 minutes from the ferry that connects to Jamestown and Williamsburg.

This house was an amazing place. It was a prefect place for all of our activities we did. It within an hour drive to Richmond and Norfolk. The ferry ride over to Jamestown, Yorktown and Williamsburg was a great experience. The house was well supplied.Thanks for letting us use your house.

We had a wonderful stay at the River House! The home was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing trip. The location and views were amazing, and we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere by the river. The host was great and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

We loved our stay here! We stayed with our kids (11 & 4) and had a wonderful week. The house has everything you need (other than your clothes and toiletries!) for a comfortable stay. Compared to other vacation rentals we’ve used, A.C & Linda really go the extra mile to ensure their home is clean and well stocked. The air conditioned porch provides lovely extra living space and the river front is so enjoyable. The kids could swim and play safely and loved looking for cool shells. Water shoes are a must have! Ferry access is easy and reliable to get to Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and other attractions. The house is in a peaceful, rural area- providing a great escape from the hustle and bustle!

This home was immaculately clean and organized, with more than enough necessities for a pleasantly relaxing stay. The view was absolutely amazing, and the setting quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and communicative. Definitely would stay again.

Private Getaway

Clean, cozy, private cottage on the water. Perfect spot for our family of five to visit Colonial Williamsburg without having to stay in a hotel in the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg proper.

Sweet house on the river

The house was spotless and the hosts answered any questions we had right away! The kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfortable. Such a beautiful view from this spot! We enjoyed our time here very much.

Great Quiet Cottage in convenient location.

Easy living

We thoroughly enjoyed this cottage. The location and scenery was wonderful. We rode the ferry to Williamsburg for dining and sight seeing. It was only a three day weekend trip but it totally revitalized us. LOVE...LOVE...LOVE this place.

We had a wonderful stay! AC and Linda were wonderful! We were close to all the historical places we wanted to see. Had plenty of room for my sister and her kids to come visit in the day! Will be booking here again for sure!

Surry Cottage

The house and location are incredible, it was perfect for our family. Convenient location, close to the ferry, you can see the Jamestown settlement from the beach. My kids had a blast playing in the water and we managed to catch a few catfish while we were there too.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Our house has a beautiful view, a beach and the James River to play in, but close to Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Busch Gardens and other sites that you came to see. It is like having the best of both worlds.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The view is beautiful. Directly across the river is Jamestown Island, the place of the first permanent English settlement in America (1607). This house is on land that was given to Pocahontas from her father, Powhatan, when she married John Rolfe. On a clear day, you can see the roller coasters at Busch Gardens across the river.

Even if the weather isn't perfect, you can sit on the enclosed porch and watch Eagles and Ospreys fish, or tugboats or ships going by.

As one guest said after visiting Williamsburg, etc., it was like coming home after a busy day. And, you can always spend a day on the "rivah," swimming, kayaking, or just enjoying it while sitting under a beach umbrella.
