Antique Tugboat on the Harborwalk
Welcome aboard this lovingly restored antique tugboat, moored just steps from the storied streets of Georgetown. Once a proud workhorse of American waterways, this vessel now offers a rare opportunity to experience life as it was in 1907—without sacrificing comfort. Let the scent of old pine and briny air greet you each morning as the harbor stirs to life. Cradle a warm mug of coffee as the sun lifts above the horizon, painting the masts and marshes in amber light.
You shall make your way to the dock through a secure gate, the combination to which shall be provided in advance. The entrance to the vessel herself is likewise protected by a combination lock. To board, one must be prepared to step upwards into the ship, and thereafter descend a modest trio of steps into the main quarters. Upon entering, you shall find yourself in the principal salon — a cozy and inviting space that adjoins the galley, the sleeping berth, and a small writing or work alcove, all conveniently situated through a door on the port side. To starboard, a second passageway leads to the head, and down stairs to the master’s cabin, and a petite verandah well-suited for quiet reflection or morning coffee. Do take note: the doorways aboard feature slight elevations and descents, as is customary with seafaring architecture.
Let it be said plainly — a stay upon this grand old boat is no ordinary lodging; it is an adventure in its truest sense. She is a vessel with character, and like many ladies of a certain age, she possesses a few eccentricities. To ensure your comfort, we have installed two AC units, as well as a fan located in the master quarters. While we strive diligently to maintain a temperate clime, particularly during the heat of high summer, we beg your indulgence should conditions momentarily defy our efforts.
A gentle rocking may be observed whilst embarking or disembarking, and you may feel a most pleasing sway when other ships pass nearby. Such is the rhythm of life afloat. Owing to the custom of keeping the doors open to better enjoy the refreshing breezes and lovely vistas, some presence of insects is to be expected. We humbly advise guests to come prepared for such rustic companions. Finally, a word on our venerable lady herself — this antique craft demands constant care and vigilant maintenance, and though we attend to her with utmost devotion, one may yet observe small imperfections here and there. We entreat your understanding and patience, and trust you shall find these minor foibles part of her enduring charm.
Your voyage awaits.
DISCLOSURES:
* We do have some small sets of steps on board: 3 steps going down to the boat; two steps going to the master cabin; two steps going down to galley/bunks; three steps going up to pilothouse/workspace
* As indicated in photos, you need to climb over the bed in the master cabin to access the back verandah
* In the living area the floor is cut out in particular spaces to allow access to key components of the boat. We apologize for any convenience but this is required by our insurance inspector and the Coast Guard. Please watch your step!

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Jacqui Crippes

Back in 2023 my husband deployed for 8 months. I towed my two little kids with me to Georgetown to view an antique tugboat for sale. I saw a unique adventure, just waiting for guests to come aboard. We spent 2 years navigating unexpected hurdles. But as a family (now with a third little one) we brought the antique tug back to life. We’re thrilled to welcome you aboard for an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind stay.
