3 Blocks to Beach. 5 Bedrooms, 4 Bathrooms - Family Spaces, Kitchen, & Porches

Our home is a classic beach house located just a short walk (3 blocks, 7 minutes) to the beach and boardwalk (also near the trolley stop). Oakwood Street is a wide, open, and private street. Our lot is large, with open parking (4+ vehicles; grass is ok). Guests enjoy the expansive front screened porch, with plenty of seating, and a large backyard deck. They tell us it feels like a home away from home.

There are five bedrooms:

- Guestroom 1 - Master bedroom - king bed, sitting area/desk, and bathroom
- Guestroom 2 - king bed
- Guestroom 3 - king bed
- Guestroom 4 - bunk bed (queen mattress on bottom, twin on top)
- Guestroom 5 - twin bed and a bunk bed (full mattress on bottom, twin on top)

Our house is ideal for a family summer beach vacation or a non-summer getaway. (There are tons of things to do in the "off-season" - e.g., shopping nearby with free parking, restaurants with no wait times, great road cycling right out the front door, etc.).

Our home is conveniently located near the beach and town, yet it still maintains a private and uncrowded atmosphere, making for a wonderfully relaxing vacation.

The home was originally owned by the former mayor of Bethany, who designed and built it in the 1980s. The previous owners remodeled and expanded the home in 2019. Today, it is known as "the cedar house."

The minimum rental age is 27. This is a family home in a family beach town. Please, no senior week requests.

The primary renter must provide full names and ages of occupants within 12 hours of the booking request. Failure to do so may result in the request being denied.

Sheets and towels are not provided (including kitchen towels, drying mat, etc.), and pets are not allowed.

We had a great stay in late August 2026. We were two families (4 adults and 4 children). It was close to the beach and they had plenty of equipment so we didn't need to haul our own stuff with us (including a wagon to carry it all!).The house itself is very nice. Spacious and attractive. Communication with our hosts was super easy. Ben was VERY responsive.The price was right, the kids were happy, and we had a great time.10/10 would stay again!

Perfect house for 5 Ladies attending a Pickleball Camp for the weekend at Sea Colony! Beautifully appointed with great cozy spaces to hang. Kitchen had everything including a Keurig. Host also had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the fridge for us upon arrival.

House is exactly as pictured and was very clean when we arrived. Communication with the host was better than most other hosts I've stayed with. Easy check-in and check-out process; and host is not onerous in the check-out requests.Bedrooms are a nice size with very comfortable beds; the master suite is actually enormous! The house has a lot of seating inside and out (an absolutely lovely front porch), and our group of 10 adults had more than enough space to spread out and relax. The kitchen is very well supplied with all necessities and other unexpected additions; there were more than enough glasses, plates, and utensils for our group so that we didn't need to constantly be washing them. The beach is a short walk away (3 blocks), although you do have to cross Route 1.We really enjoyed the stay in this house, and it is easily the best and most liked place we've stayed in our 35 years renting in Bethany Beach!

We love the location, it’s close but not too close, and the house is filled with all you can possibly need for a beach trip. Strongly recommend this house.

Family fun

This property was just what we needed for our family get away. Not to far from the beach but far enough away that it was nice and quite when i sat out on the screened in porch. Pur whole family truly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely home near the beach!

Property is newly renovated and lots of space to gather for our family! Really enjoyed the screened front porch for dining and not too far from the beach. Home away from home and very clean!

Great place for all

This was a great property. Easy to get to, great location. The space was beautiful, open, and very accommodating for all of us. We spent much of our time on the screened-in porch and truly enjoyed every moment of the stay

Bethany Beach Yearly Trip

We truly enjoyed our trip to Bethany this year. The house was close to the beach and town. It was spacious and very comfortable. We were a party of 7, I would recommend the "cedar house" for any family vacation.

Great family house

Oakwood home did not disappoint. Spacious bedrooms, large family room with plenty of room to lounge and play games. Porch was an added bonus where we spent our mornings and dinners in the evening. Would rent again and highly recommend.

Overall the house is in great shape and well maintained. Convenient location, easy walk to the beach and boardwalk. Quick drive to food store. Nice family atmosphere to the town. All my kids had a blast.

Great house!

Very comfortable and an easy walk to the beach, even with kids! We enjoyed using the front porch every night for dinner. Lovely hosts that were very communicative

Spacious & Welcoming

Large, updated and well stocked home that provides everything you need for a week at the beach. We especially liked the gigantic family room with the pocket doors that kept noise levels down and young children's toys out of the way.

We had a great vacation. House for comfortable and we had plenty of room for everyone.

We loved Bethany Beach and we will more than likely return someday. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We also appreciated the beach equipment in the garage. The only thing that we would have liked better is if we were a little closer to the beach.
